I am a first-generation student from a family of blue-collar workers, who always encouraged me. I came to UWM because of the track program, and I was drawn to English education because I love to write. On top of being a student athlete, I also became a caretaker for my family, and I cannot squeeze a job into my schedule. To my family, this scholarship displays how good things come in the darkest of times.

The generosity of my scholarship donors has given me the opportunity to pursue my passions at UWM. As of now, I plan on pursuing a master’s degree in aerospace engineering to fuse my current mechanical engineering and computer science knowledge with possible space applications. Instead of worrying about financials, I am able to be the captain of the UWM baseball team, conduct undergraduate research, experience Milwaukee and make lasting friendships. I am forever grateful for the support.
