My name is Sven Harker, I am 32 years old, father of 2 girls and come from the tranquil town of Geldern in NRW (Germany). I have been taking photographs as a hobby since I was 16 years old. Over time, my hobby has developed more and more into my personal passion. Due to my youth as a punk, I have a very personal connection to the street. Because of this, I still like to be sucked up and carried away by the energy of a big city. The only difference is that today I usually have my camera with me. Street photography is a very big part of my work. The challenge of finding the „perfect motif“ every day and capturing the stories associated with it in a photo to create an interesting image for the viewer is exactly what fascinates and excites me about street photography time and time again. For personal reasons, I am regularly drawn to Munich. Munich fascinates me and I feel very comfortable here. Walking through the city with my camera and exploring even the most unknown corners is a lot of fun for me. I‘m particularly fond of Munich‘s underground stations. They offer me a good mixture of clear lines, light, shadow and architectural symmetry. They remind me of futuristic science fiction films. This is also the reason why I process my pictures in exactly this style. Sharon Eilon „Me‘a She‘arim“ neighborhood in Jerusalem contains mostly Haredi and Hasidic religious population. Life here requires strict adherence to Jewish law. Dress codes include black frock coats and black hats for men, and long-sleeved clothing for women. Married women are required to wear a hair covering. As a secular woman photographer, it was quite a challenge for me to get dressed according to these modesty norms, but it was important to me to respect the values of the neighborhood‘s residents. I am an Israeli based photographer and an electrical engineer by profession. Following a health crisis, I found myself seeking treatment in India and went through a life-changing journey. After returning home healthy I decided to realize my dream and learn photography. I am fascinated by the world of photography ever since, and I am especially keen about people photography of any kind, whether it is portraiture, street photography or culture photography – anything reflecting the humanity that we all share. For me, the act of photography has a meditative quality, feeling unified with the world around me at the present moment. Rich Neel Alausi, Ecuador was named one of the „Puebla Magico“ by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Tourism. The train adventure called „el Nariz del Diablo“ (the Devils Nose) is one of the most dramatic reasons. It falls 500 meters over only 12 meters from the 2346 meter elevation of Alausi. This would be difficult to imagine today but it was actualy realized in 1908 at the tragic price of 2,000 men. Today the restored route represents a monumental feat for humans and a symbol of Ecuadors Achievements.

Threatening horizon Dark and threatening clouds hang over the beach where little Maria‘s mother works. While holding with both hands the box with the food that must be enough for the day, as if she were afraid of losing it, she scrutinizes the horizon. A horizon that also seems threatening to her big eyes. What fears, anxieties or doubts will she have at this time when she has apparently stopped being a child and seems to be concerned about her future, like everyone else here on this beach? „By the old pier“

It is a mysterious pleasure for me to contemplate old fishing piers. Around them, there are true and sad stories such as the crazy woman from the Saint Blas Pier, to whom no ship ever returned her beloved Manuel after he went into the sea. Ancient myths and legends of shipwrecks, monsters and mermaids. And how to forget the Hemingway old cuban fisherman who faces a giant fish in the seas of the Gulf. May be it is the changing colors of the sea, which rises and falls, and goes from tranquility to storm, reminding me our human nature. When
the sun rises, bright and passionate, new stories are born everyday in the old pier. But in the foggy days, without sun or stars, happen the stories I really love. Passing into the dense fog at a slow walking pace, like a myopic without glasses, one can barely distinguish the shapes that hide under the soft range of grays. You can discover an almost hidden fantastic world, where a supersticious sailor is talking with his ship meanwhile seagulls dance with seawolfs among the battered old hulls that await their final voyage.
