What got you involved in photography and how important it is now to you? I have always loved people and have always wanted to learn about them from up close. People, their culture, their experiences, always has fascinated me since my childhood. I found out that photography gives me opportunities to go and learn about people and their journeys. Photography is more of my passion than my profession. It means a lot to me personally and I find a great deal of satisfaction and challenge in this art. Photography carries so much values in my life. I only shoot what I feel is important to me. I go out to take photos because it’s fascinating to me and because I am curious about people, their lives, their culture and their faces. Every time I go out with my camera, I feel happy. Every new place and all the new people I encounter make me happy. Which are some of the challenges of your work? I love to travel and seek to discover the unseen. As a female photographer, I have the privilege to go places that my male colleagues may find difficult. On the other hand, as a woman, it is more difficult here in Bangladesh to go out or visit certain sites alone to take photos. I always find it harder to work after evening, and it can feel unsafe sometimes and I feel afraid. This is one of the biggest challenges I always face. Working professionally as a visual female photographer in Bangladesh is an everyday challenge. What features do you think make your portraits stand out? Before every single photo I take, I spend a good amount of time with the people. I try to get as close as possible to them. I try to become one of them or at least be accepted in their presence. Only after that do I start taking photos.

I take simple images primarily of people. I try to take portraiture images with simplicity, but which also reflect a soulful mood and deep human connection. In addition to the uncomplicated composition, the people whom I photograph are incredibly beautiful and brave souls. I believe that this is what sets my work apart from others. Do you have any tips for photographers to help them grow artistically? Be honest and respectful to the people you photograph. Work very hard and take photos every day. Love your life and always be positive. Appreciate and be grateful for everything you have in your life! Where can we see your work? You can find my Photography In my Social Medias. I share my work daily on Instagram and my Facebook Page as well as in my Twitter Instagram link https://instagram.com/mou_aysha?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Facebook Page link https://www.facebook.com/Mou-Aysha-112391846852677/ Twitter link https://twitter.com/aysha_mou?t=1chOa9CiaZ4TukliDxVh4A&s=09 Where I can easily share my work and can motivate millions of photographs like me. Also, I can get inspiration from millions of other photographers too. Social media can have a hugely positive impact in spreading love and humanity.

Selection of the publisher: Michel Verhoef The art of invisibility and storytelling. By Valentina Damato
To Michel, an intuitive Dutch photographer with a cinema-
tographic eye, shooting in the urban environment with his
invisible cloak is key for capturing truly spontaneous decisive moments and unexpected emotions of the anaware subjects. With meaningful storytelling details and an aesthetically
driven style, he delights the viewers with his priceless visual stories so that they can make their own interpretation and complete the missing pieces they hope to find.

by Valentina D'Amato
Tell us about your introduction to photography. Did your experience in your native city influenced your work? I started my photography as a young boy of 10 years old with a plastic Kodak Brownie that could only make 12 analogue black and white pictures. Ever since than i regularly upgraded my tools until the year 2001 when I started more serious digital photography with a Nikon. In that year i joined a photoclub which significally changed my look on photography. It emphazided strongly on creating an own style without just making pretty images. Travelling all over the world has and still is the inspiration for my photography. During the corona crises i had to find my inspiration nearby in my own country finding my subjects at locations where still humans were allowed to gather in a restricted manner, like open-air markets. My focus in photography has been the last 20 years on humans on „the street“ in spontaneous moments of emotion and/or serendipity. How would you define your style? My style of photography is an aesthetically driven style of finding human emotions on the street and in public spaces. These emotions can result in environmental portraits where the human plays a role in his immidiate surrounding or shows his social engagement within society. These moments are usually spontaneous, often decisive, in which the subject isn‘t aware of my presence. I than refer to my so called „invisible cloak“. What is about the people you photograph that stand out to you? People are the same all over the world in their behavior. Emotions are universal and this i want to show in my

photography. It can be so called micro-emotions but also big emotions, whatever is out there on „the street“ to be found. Do you prefer a particular kind of narrative to engage the viewer? The narrative is a story that usually can be found inside an image and i strive to find some layers in it. The more the better. Where can we see your work? I am active on facebook. There I post all my pictures nowadays. facebook.com/michel.verhoef.18007

Valentina D‘Amato A PENDING COFFEE Coffee has always had a social and narrative power since ancient times. In the 1700, the
literary cafés of Trieste were fascinating mee-
ting places, where intellectuals like Joyce and
Kafka spent many hours engaged into heartfelt discussions over a cup of hot coffee.
Coffee is about companionship, it fosters
community and the repair of sorrow. Today
in Napoli, when someone is happy pays two
coffees, one for himself and another paid for
in advance, a pending coffee or a café sospeso
for a stranger who can‘t pay. This solidary Neapolitan tradition is a simple act of generosity
and humanity, a bridge between the despairing and the hopeful.
I never get bored in a café. You can be alone and together at the same time. You also can observe people, taking the time to look, and learn the art of telling stories.
