Dear Yosemite Half Marathon Participants: Welcome! On behalf of Yosemite National Park, we would like to welcome the 2016 Yosemite Half Marathon runners and spectators to the area. We are thrilled to have you as guests to our area and hope that while you are here that you will take some time to visit Yosemite National Park! 2016 marks the Centennial of the National Park Service and we are celebrating this momentous occasion across the country! National Park Service was born and has spent the last century helping maintain the parks we love! If this is your first time to the area, we hope you will enjoy your visit as you explore and discover what Yosemite has to offer. There are also great activities in the gateway communities such as Oakhurst, Bass Lake, Mariposa, and Groveland. If you have been here before, welcome home. How lucky we all are to get to share in the ownership of our National Parks, established and preserved “For the benefit and enjoyment of the people!” All of us here wish the runners great success and hope all the participants have an enjoyable and safe experience. Sincerely, Don. L. Neubacher Superintendent Yosemite National Park
