Snuggling up next to your cat while its furry chest softly purrs, is a proven antidote to the day’s stress. For millions, pets bring immeasurable joy and love into our lives. They offer affection, and we give it in return, making all of us better for it. Science agrees. Numerous studies highlight the health benefts of pet ownership - fewer heart attacks, less loneliness, improved blood pressure, lower stress levels and increased physical activity are just a few. Our pets hold a special place in our lives and within our family

More Than Just Pets

dynamics. While their cuteness is undeniable, there’s more to their role than just that. Over time, we grow familiar with their personalities and quirks, becoming attuned to their constant presence. Unlike humans, animals don’t judge; they offer unconditional love and acceptance, no matter how we look or feel. They are happy to see us return home and they don’t hold grudges. Pets rely on us, becoming an integral part of our identity, and losing them is devastating. The

grief that follows the loss of a beloved animal leaves an irreplaceable mark on our lives. Though they are not human, we love them deeply all the same. On our Estate, many pets hold a special place in residents’ hearts. Miniature donkeys, for instance, may not be an obvious choice for a pet, but they embody the perfect blend of a dog’s loyalty and a horse’s grace. Our cover stars, Dakota and Pablo, with their soft, curious eyes, seem ready to spread joy wherever they may go.

For the Love of Dogs

A MESSAGE FROM THE VAL DE VIE HOA

Owning a dog is a joy, privilege and a responsibility. It requires commitment, as dogs need daily attention, playtime and regular exercise. Walking your dog around the Estate is a wonderful way for both of you to enjoy the outdoors and stay active. However, responsible dog ownership goes beyond just exercise; it involves ensuring the safety of your dog, other animals and the people around you.

It’s important to remember that not everyone will share your love for dogs. To ensure harmony within the community, always keep your dog on your property and on a leash during walks or runs.

With summer comes polo season, bringing more horses onto the Estate. When venturing outside your property, dogs must always remain leashed, especially near the polo felds. Dogs are prohibited on the polo felds, equestrian centres, berms, stables and paddocks. An unleashed dog can spook a horse, potentially causing harm to the rider, handler or horse.

While you may feel confdent in your dog’s behaviour, with thoughts like “My dog is friendly” or “They love people and other animals,” leashing your dog benefts everyone—your dog, the neighbourhood and the broader Estate community.

• A leash prevents your dog from trespassing on neighbours’ property or jumping on passersby during walks, fostering a more considerate environment.

• Often called “Your Pet’s Lifeline,” a leash protects your dog from dangers like traffc or the temptation to chase birds or cats. It also gives you better control if your dog feels threatened or defensive.

• Not everyone is a dog lover and some people may be allergic, fearful or uncomfortable around dogs. Leashing your dog shows respect for those who prefer to keep their distance.

• A free-roaming dog can disrupt the habitat of groundnesting birds, stress small wildlife or leave behind waste unnoticed. Failing to pick up after your dog can result in fnes.

• Keeping your dog leashed allows you to monitor what it eats and drinks. Off-leash, it could ingest harmful plants or substances, leading to an emergency vet visit. Moreover, if it runs off, it risks getting lost or injured.

Leashing your dog ensures a safer, cleaner and more enjoyable environment for everyone on the Estate. Thank you for being a responsible pet owner and maintaining a harmonious community.

Lake Antoine is named for its French origin meaning “priceless” or “inestimable,” which conveys strength and elegance. The name celebrates notable French figures like Antoine-Augustin Parmentier, an important agriculturist; Antoine Watteau, a key Rococo artist and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, famed for his literary masterpiece “The Little Prince.” This lake embodies a profound cultural legacy. John Wilkinson

Lake Le Cheval is named after the French word for “horse,” symbolising the Estate’s deep connection to equestrian culture. Horses represent grace and nobility, qualities that align with the Estate’s refined way of life. Polo, in particular, has played a pivotal role in shaping the Val de Vie Estate

Estate’s smaller lakes, symbolizing their role as peaceful retreats. Much like the smaller, hidden streams that nourish lush French landscapes, Lake Petite Eaux embodies a gentle, life-giving force, contributing to the overall harmony of the Estate’s natural surroundings.

Lake Chantilly is inspired by the town of Chantilly, France that is known for its castle, horse racing and Chantilly Forest. Lake Chantilly embodies a tradition of equestrian excellence akin to Val de Vie Estate’s polo culture. The name also resonates with the luxurious Chantilly lace and cream, representing sophistication and grace. This lake’s name captures the essence of

de Vie Estate’s equestrian culture and refined living, drawing parallels to France’s rich history and natural beauty.

How Market Volatility Helps Your Investments Grow

A MESSAGE FROM BRENTHURST WEALTH

August delivered fresh volatility, with global markets in full selloff mode at the start of the month. Measures of volatility shot up by the most on record in a single day (a 3% drop for the S&P 500 SPX), reviving memories of past crises. Markets rebounded quickly, indicating that the backdrop is far more balanced than the initial sell-off indicated.

The recent market turmoil is not new, as in the past few years, investment markets have been extremely volatile. First, it was COVID, then the war in Ukraine and this year’s elections in South Africa, the UK, France, the USA and more, which adds to the uncertainty.

These events have fed into a feeling of general concern about the future as the world seems to be a different place. Unsurprisingly, it has caused nervous investors to take their money and run for the hills where they can safely hoard it under a rock. Safe. Undisturbed. Doing nothing. In the real world, this happens when investors reduce their exposure to volatile stock markets and look for safety in fxed-income or money market-type products. Just like the money under a rock, these funds are generally protected from wild market swings, but over the longer term, they also don’t produce infation-beating returns.

The irony is that your portfolio’s long-term performance

Staying Invested

depends on volatility. Without it, stock prices cannot deliver the above infation returns that equity markets are able to produce over a period of 20 or more years.

The simple answer to overcoming the ups and downs of the markets is to stay invested for the long term. This

means that you need to ignore the short-term noise and distractions that lead people to panic or be guided by their emotions. The best way to avoid losses when markets get choppy is simply to do nothing. Keep a calm head and recognise that you need to sit through the bad times to enjoy the good times.

Olympic Aspirations

Zach Snyman, a personal trainer at The Yard Gym, is an accomplished Olympic weightlifter and sports scientist. In 2022, he earned a second-place fnish in the 73kg category at a national championship. The following year, he made a notable switch to the 67kg category, where he excelled at the Western Province Championships, claiming frst place and setting a provincial record in the ‘clean and jerk’ with a lift of 122kg. His impressive performance continued at the Commonwealth Championships, where he secured seventh place and set a new national record in the ‘snatch’ with a weight of 111kg. Unfortunately, an injury – torn muscles in his abdomen and leg – prevented him from competing and led to a six-month hiatus from training. Returning to competition this year, Zach has achieved outstanding results, winning frst place at the Western Province Championships in the 67kg category and earning the title of Best Male Weightlifter. He also triumphed at the South African Weightlifting Championships, solidifying his status as a top competitor in the feld. Looking to the future, Zach aims to compete in the 2025 Commonwealth Championships, where he hopes to secure his frst international medal. His ultimate goal is to place at the Commonwealth Games in 2026 and qualify for the 2028 Olympic Games. With South Africa’s history of only three Olympic weightlifters since 1960, Zach aspires to become the fourth, targeting the country’s top lifter status over the next four years.

The Leading Walking Lady

Meet Nicolene Cronje-Badenhorst, a true pioneer in race walking who calls Val de Vie Estate home. Nicolene’s journey in race walking began with a historic achievement in 2004 when she became the frst female race walker to represent South Africa at the Olympic Games. This milestone highlighted her dedication and skill in the sport. More recently, in 2023, Nicolene achieved another signifcant milestone by becoming the frst female ‘silver’ level race walking judge in South Africa and one of only two judges in the country.

Race walking is a unique discipline that demands strict adherence to technical standards. Athletes must maintain one foot in contact with the ground at all times and keep their leading leg straight from frst contact until it’s fully vertical. This compliance to form is crucial in distinguishing race walking from other forms of distance events. Athletes typically compete in various distances, ranging from 3 000 meters to 50 kilometres at an elite level, on both tracks and roads.

Nicolene plays a vital role as a judge, monitoring competitors along the racecourse and making real-time decisions to uphold the sport’s integrity. In addition to her judging responsibilities, Nicolene is passionate about developing future race walking talent. She coaches young athletes at Stellenbosch High School, helping them develop their skills and enthusiasm for the sport.

Maintain a safe distance when walking, running or driving near the polo ponies and avoid sudden movement or noises that may startle or intimidate them.

Pass with enough space and be visible before approaching.

A Lifelong Commitment

When early humans frst began domesticating certain animal species, it was likely to ease the burden of work or protect the social group and its belongings. Before long, certain species also became companions within the social group itself.

The domestic dog descended from wolves and jackals and the domestic cat, with its origins in the African wildcat, is particularly noteworthy given their prevalence today. Pets have been by humanity’s side for millennia and in today’s fastpaced world, animal companions’ calm provides a simple way to reconnect with nature.

However, it must be remembered that owning another living being comes with responsibilities. Ensuring a pet’s quality of life is the best one can offer is crucial. Before acquiring any pet, it is important to carefully consider the following:

• Pets are often acquired for the wrong reasons. They should never be viewed as fashion accessories, status symbols or impulse purchases.

• Large animals in small spaces can only thrive if regularly and adequately exercised outside those confnes.

• Where will the pet live or be allowed to roam? Where will it relieve itself and who will be responsible for cleaning up? Contrary to popular belief, cats can be trained not to leave their owner’s property. It’s also essential to consider where the animal will stay during holidays or extended absences.

• What does the pet eat, when and where will it be fed, and who will ensure it has fresh, clean water?

• Dogs, in particular, are social creatures that need regular interaction with other dogs to prevent issues like aggression. The dog park within the Estate offers an excellent opportunity for both dogs and owners to socialise.

• If pets are not intended for breeding, sterilisation should be considered to prevent unwanted surprises.

Having a well-adjusted, happy animal as a companion is one of life’s greatest joys, but it is a responsibility that should never be undertaken lightly.

For Your Furry Friends

Val de Vie Estate’s newest addition, De Pet Valley, is here to make life easier for our furry residents and their owners. Founded by passionate pet lovers (and proud Chow parents), De Pet Valley offers a one-stop shop for all your pet’s needs. You no longer have to leave the Estate to fnd quality supplies for your fur babies, whether food or other essentials. De Pet Valley, located at The Yard Wellness Centre, has a perfect view of the doggy park. It is open Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00. To make things even more convenient, they offer free delivery across the Estate.

ANIMAL OF THE MONTH

The springbok is the national animal of South Africa.

Springboks can leap up to three metres high.

They live in herds, usually led by a dominant female.

Herbivorous, they eat grasses and shrubs.

They can survive long periods without water, relying on moisture from their food.

A South African Icon

Recognised for their impressive leaps and striking appearance, the springbok or springbuck (Antidorcas marsupialis) is a true symbol of South Africa’s wild beauty. You’ll spot these graceful creatures right here on our Estate, roaming a three-hectare wildlife reserve.

Standing up to 90 centimetres tall at the shoulder and weighing between 40 to 100 kilograms, springboks sport a sleek, reddish-brown coat accented by a dramatic black stripe along their sides and snowy-white underbellies. But it’s not just their looks that impress—springboks are famous for their signature move, stotting. When danger looms, they launch into the air in a stunning display of acrobatics, bouncing up to 3 metres high. This high-fying manoeuvre is as effective as it is spectacular, confusing potential predators with each gravity-defying leap. These social animals live in herds, often consisting of females and their young, while males typically form bachelor groups. This social structure, with a dominant female leading the herd, ensures their safety and well-being. Springboks are primarily grazers, feeding on grasses and leaves. They are well-adapted to the arid environments of the Kalahari and other savanna regions. Their astonishing speed, which can reach up to 88 kilometres per hour, helps them to evade predators. In the wild, they play a crucial role in their ecosystem as prey for larger carnivores, while their presence also helps to maintain the balance of their habitat through grazing, a vital contribution to the health of the regions they inhabit.

Breaking Bread with Rabbie Chibweya

If you follow the scent of freshly baked bread through the Estate, you’ll end up at the ViLLAGE deli. There, you’ll meet the new ‘Bread Man’, Rabbie Chibweya, a baker who is seamlessly kneading his way into the hearts of The Val de Vie Estate community. Rabbie, who is originally from Malawi, has been living in the Winelands for over a decade and has offcially made Paarl his home three years ago. His love for baking started in 2021, and despite not having any formal training, he was determined to master the art of bread baking. His current employer nurtured his natural talent and encouraged him to bake. Rabbie then turned to YouTube tutorials and recipe books to further immerse himself in his newfound hobby. Through numerous trials and errors, he eventually perfected his recipe and people fell in love with it. Among his offerings at the ViLLAGE Deli are Rabbie’s favourite bread, seeded multi-grain loaves, along with a selection of freshly baked white loaves, buns and other baked goods. For Rabbie, baking is more than just a job; it is his calling. So, next time you’re hungry, follow the scent of freshly baked bread to the ViLLAGE deli.

WINE OF THE MONTH

CUVÉE DE VIE MÉTHODE CAP CLASSIQUE BRUT

Only the fnest grapes are sourced from coastal and near-coastal vineyards, where a cooler climate imparts a distinctive character to this MCC. Viticultural practices are tailored and carefully applied to enhance its unique qualities – the result is a zesty profle with bright notes of citrus and lime.

On the palate, a burst of red berries combines with peach and apple, elegantly complemented by subtle secondary yeast favours. The MCC presents a shimmering appearance with a soft green hue, offering zesty vibrancy and gentle citrus aromas that evolve into a lingering fnish of caramel, toast and nougat.

This lively MCC makes an excellent aperitif, perfect alongside freshly baked bread and rich pâtés. It is an ideal companion for breakfast celebrations, especially when served with Franschhoek trout, fuffy eggs and a citrus-infused hollandaise sauce. It is equally delightful when paired with a selection of fne cheeses.

Getting To Know Our Benefciaries

In this edition of the Grapevine, we profle the third in this series of Val de Vie Foundation benefciaries.

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”
-
PIENAAR

Drakenstein Association for Persons with Disabilities (DAPD)

DAPD is affliated with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) and is partially funded by the Department of Health and the Department of Social Development. Contributions from organisations such as the Val de Vie Foundation match this funding. This enables them to deliver their vision to “serve as an organisation in which persons with disabilities are enabled to attain their maximum level of independence and integration into the community.”

A Humbling Experience

On a recent visit from the Val de Vie Foundation, the team was impressed by the generous spirit and professionalism of the volunteer management committee. Guiding an organisation of this nature is very challenging and their hearts went out to the adult daycare clients who, for just a few hours each week, receive mental stimulation, food and most importantly, love. When asked why they use the term “clients,” Chairperson Michael Koch explained, “They are our clients and using that term reminds us every day that they are who we serve.” It was a most humbling experience for all involved. Representatives from the Val de Vie Foundation met with adult daycare clients and also with the team who work at the Protective Workshop.

Hard at Work

The Protective Workshop facility offers sheltered job creation and skills training for able clients. It also facilitates a contract team that does contract work for companies that partner with DAPD. Should you or your business need repetitive semi-skilled work, please contact the Val de Vie Foundation and they will connect you to discuss partnership opportunities.

The Art of Giving

As a result of their visit, the Val de Vie Foundation team reached out to Val de Vie Estate resident artist Laurinda Belcher. When asked if she would paint a

mural at the adult daycare facility, Laurinda responded enthusiastically, asking, “When do I start?” Laurinda is no stranger to the Val de Vie Foundation, having previously volunteered as an art teacher at Ronwe Primary School last year. Laurinda is a painter inspired by the playful nature of her inner child. She interprets the world through shapes and colours. Her work has been displayed in numerous Cape Town galleries, including the Loop Street Gallery and the Cape Grace. The mural at the DAPD facility was designed to delight the senses of the disabled clients. Their frst reaction upon seeing the mural was, “Dis Mooi.”

Maizylle Pienaar, DAPD Centre Manager

Maizylle Pienaar has faced numerous challenges, profoundly shaping her approach to caring for her DAPD clients. Her career began in banking and in 2012; Maizylle faced a severe setback when she injured her back, leaving her bedridden for weeks. This was followed by a retrenchment and a challenging two-year period of unemployment. Despite ongoing pain from her injury, Maizylle’s determination remained unshaken. She was appointed Administrator at the Drakenstein Association for Persons with Disabilities (DAPD) and her passion for supporting clients with disabilities soon led her to take on the role of Centre Manager. Going above and beyond her core responsibilities, Maizylle has initiated a food garden with the help of a local farmer, established the Milani Daycare Centre for disabled children and actively runs fundraising and awareness campaigns.

When there is a job to be done, give it to a busy woman.

Helen Prozesky is one of the Val de Vie Foundation volunteers. She holds a BSc in Dietetics and volunteers once a week with NorSA, where she supports vegetable distribution to drug-resistant TB patients and provides workshops and staff training. When asked if she would become a trustee of DAPD, she immediately agreed. Laurinda and Helen have truly excelled at the “Art of Giving”.

The Val de Vie Foundation Supports Conscious Tourism

What is Conscious Tourism?

Conscious Tourism promotes more mindful interactions between local communities, travellers and the tourism industry. Our Valley uniquely offers the ideal setting for embracing these mindful experiences. The benefts are numerous, attracting a growing number of tourists who seek to engage with the community while creating much-needed jobs and opportunities for local entrepreneurs.

The Val de Vie Foundation is collaborating with the Franschhoek Hospitality Academy and Learning Centre (FHALC) and Franschhoek Tourism to support our community's investment in the hospitality sector. We are honoured to have resident Linda Potgieter's support, through her company LindaPaige, in a pilot programme launching on Saturday 2 November. Her company is sponsoring the attendance of 16 female executives from the USA at a Haute Cabrière wine tasting, cooking course and gala dinner hosted at the Franschhoek Hospitality Academy. Under the expert guidance of Chef Ryan Shell, the 16 executives, including their partners, will cook a Cape Culinary “ Feast to Table” menu, assisted by four FHALC students, offering a unique dining experience. This remarkable collaboration marks a frst for the Valley and will generate vital funding for FHALC.

A Perfect Partner

We are delighted to have restaurant owner and chef Ryan Shell host the cooking course. Ryan’s training is in fne dining, but his primary focus has been on training and people development. During the Covid pandemic, he opened his frst restaurant, Oku, in Franschhoek, committing to employing staff who had lost their jobs due to the crisis, with a pledge never to retrench anyone.

A year later, Ryan realised that his true product was people. This realisation clarifed his long-term goals – to build a business that serves the community rather than one driven solely by proft. He focuses on employing individuals primarily from within 20 kilometres of the restaurant, often hiring frst-time workers straight out of high school or college. He is also a strong supporter of FHALC, currently

employing six of their former students and aims to have half of his staff come from FHALC by 2030. His long-term vision is to transform his 50 employees into 50 business owners. Ryan’s emphasis on people over products has proven pivotal. It has led to the expansion from one restaurant (Oku) to three (Eleven and Yama Sushi) in just under four years, an outstanding achievement.

Introducing our Homeowner-elected Trustees

A MESSAGE FROM THE VAL DE VIE HOA

The Board of Trustees plays a vital role in guiding the operational and strategic direction of the HOA. It consists of four homeowner-elected trustees and two developer-appointed trustees. Working closely with the Estate COO, Eugene Botha and the HOA Management team, the homeowner-elected trustees ensure that our Estate continues to thrive and represents the best interests of all residents. Each trustee leads a specifc committee, where their unique skills, experience and passion bring immense value to the Estate’s continued development and growth.

At the recent Annual General Meeting (AGM), Steven Hassel and Fred Swanepoel were elected as Homeowner Trustees. They join continuing trustees Jonathan Bloom and Rudi Eggers, as well as developer trustees Martin Venter and Ryk Neethling on the Board. At the frst Board meeting following the AGM, Fred Swanepoel was appointed Chairperson.

We sincerely thank all the trustees for their dedication and service. Their commitment to enhancing and improving the Estate ensures that it remains a vibrant and thriving community for all residents. We wish them the very best in their work and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will continue to make.

Fred Swanepoel (Chairperson)

Fred has been happily married to Colette for over 14 years and is the proud father of two adult sons working in Cape Town. Originally from Johannesburg, Fred studied at Stellenbosch University and has owned property in the Western Cape for the past decade. An extrovert passionate about people and the community, Fred enjoys rugby, tennis, water sports, performance vehicles, and aviation. He has served as a Trustee of the HOA at Tedderfeld Airpark, an aviation estate south of Johannesburg, for nearly nine years.

With over 35 years of experience in Property Development, Finance, Banking, and IT, Fred brings a wealth of expertise. He holds a B.Com Honours from Stellenbosch University, an MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand and has completed advanced programs at Harvard Business School.

Fred’s distinguished career at Nedbank began in 1996 as Divisional Director of Group Technology and Support Services, eventually culminating in his role as Group CIO. He gained local and international recognition for spearheading the modernisation and digitisation of Nedbank’s technology landscape, driving business value through innovation. Under his leadership, Nedbank received numerous awards for its leadership in the digital space, successfully commercialising several market-leading products and services, with an ongoing pipeline of innovations that continue to enhance the bank’s market reputation among analysts and stakeholders.

As a driven servant leader, Fred is committed to serving the Val de Vie Estate community. His vision is to help Val de Vie Estate become the world’s leading lifestyle Estate, recognised for excellence by all stakeholders, including homeowners, tenants, retirees, business owners and personnel. He acknowledges the diversity of interests within the community but is determined to focus on fnding common ground and achieving optimal outcomes for everyone.

Jonathan Bloom

Jonathan and his wife, Marinda, have been proud residents of Val de Vie Estate since 2018, and he has served as a homeowner-elected trustee ever since. They are blessed with two children—one already actively contributing to the economy and the other studying Data Science at Stellenbosch University. Originally from Paarl, Jonathan moved to Stellenbosch for his studies, where they lived until they settled at Val de Vie Estate.

He holds four degrees, including a Ph.D. in Corporate Finance from Stellenbosch University. Throughout his career as a professor of Corporate Finance, specialising in Real Estate Investment and Financing, Jonathan has had the privilege of advising a variety of JSE-listed companies, real estate developers, Independent Power Producers (IPPs) in the renewable energy sector and government departments at all levels. He has also contributed his expertise as an analyst and advisor in state capture corruption investigations.

As a trustee, Jonathan focuses on the long-term strategic sustainability of the Estate, with a particular emphasis on its fnancial portfolio. He is committed to proactively addressing the strategic and operational challenges of managing an Estate of this size. Under his leadership, the HOA Finance department has evolved into an independent function within the Management Company.

Rudi Eggers

Rudi and his wife, Lynn, were both born in Durban. In September 2016, on a visit to Val de Vie Estate, they purchased a stand in Le Domaine, which then was a sand patch. They built their home and have enjoyed living a joyful life in Val de Vie Estate since 2017. They are proud parents. Rudi and Lynn both enjoy travelling locally and internationally.

Rudi started as a Detective in the South African Police in 1979. He completed a degree in Economics and began his business journey. In 2000, Rudi co-founded International Slab Sales, the largest distributor of quartz and natural stone surfaces for the construction industry in Sub-Saharan Africa.

In March, Rudi took over the reins as Chairman and is now semi-retired. As Managing Director, he led the growth of the surface industry through product innovation and strategic business development. As a leader, he drives success and believes in guiding and supporting his team members, helping them unlock opportunities and reach their full potential.

With over 16 years of experience as a trustee at various HOAs in Johannesburg and Durban, Rudi is experienced in community management and living. Rudi is passionate about the Estate and has served the Val de Vie Estate community as a Trustee since 2022. He is the Chairperson of the Facilities, Assets and Landscaping Committee and a member of the Building Environment Committee.

Steven Hassel

Steven is happily married, with two stepsons and two grandchildren, and he thoroughly enjoys the facilities and lifestyle that Val de Vie Estate offers. Passionate about community, he is eager to contribute his time to reinforcing the value of the Estate. An avid, if not expert, cyclist, Steven also enjoys travelling and experiencing new cultures. He has an MBA from the University of Cape Town, a BCom Acct from UNISA and an Advanced Certifcate in Shopping Centre Leadership from the University of Pretoria. He also qualifed as an estate agent in 1985.

With over 35 years of experience in large-scale property development and management, Steven has worked extensively in South Africa and abroad, spending 24 years in the UK and EU working with mixed-use developments.

Steven believes the Estate's maturity is at a point where the controls needed by the Developer no longer apply and it is time for homeowners to become more engaged and to shift the trustees’ focus to maintaining and enhancing the overall value exclusively for the homeowners. He has no prior or current association with the Developer or any of the supply chain. As a trustee, Steven is committed to addressing the critical issue of power supply and utilities, working toward securing this for the Estate, all the while fostering a unifed and harmonious community and working towards creating an environment where the goal of a super Estate can eventually proceed.

EMERGENCY

In the last edition of the Grapevine, we asked residents to submit images they had captured of life on Val de Vie Estate. Paige Potgieter, who is 10 years old, shared the photograph above with us. She said she chose it because: “I like this picture because squirrels are usually quite skittish, but this squirrel was being brave! And squirrels are part of life on Val de Vie Estate.” Thank you for sharing this image with us Paige.
