African American Heritage Scholarship AWARD:Awards vary according to amount available, grants prorated annually, renewable. Eligibility and Criteria:

African American heritage, Demonstrated financial need, Completion of Valencia financial aid application, For consideration for renewal the student must complete at least 16 semester/session credit hours within three (3) years, maintain a 2.5 grade point average in all course work attempted and send a thank you to the donor through the Valencia Foundation, SELECTON: Black Advisory Committee selection procedures, screens applicants and selects scholars with notification of recipient name, address, social security number, and curriculum to Foundation Office within one month after award. Applications should be submitted to Valencia Community College, Office of Recruitment and Retention of Ethnically Diverse Students 4-10, P.O. Box 3028, Orlando, Fl 32802-3028. OTHER: Student is expected to write a letter addressed to the scholarship provider in care of the Valencia Community College Foundation office expressing appreciation for the award. The letter is to be sent within the first month after the semester begins. Failure to write the letter could be the basis for non-renewal of the scholarship.
