VALENCIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE Faculty Self-Assessment Faculty Goal-Setting Plan This form allows faculty to set goals for the next twelve months. Before the evaluation conference, faculty members will list in outline or narrative form those goals they wish to attain all of the following areas: (1) instructional development, (2) instructional service within the department, (3) professional growth, (4) campus, college, community, or other service. As part of the evaluation conference, faculty members and supervisors will discuss this plan and agree on reasonable goals that can be reached by the end of the goal setting period. Specific goals may be earmarked to link with the new Faculty Professional Development (PD) Option (see box below). . Notes on New Faculty Professional Development (PD) Option Linked to Faculty Compensation Please note that checking any of the boxes below does not obligate faculty; this form is only intended to indicate preliminary intention. I plan to complete 25 hours of professional development activity for compensation in the upcoming year I plan to complete 50 hours of professional development activity for compensation in the upcoming year I do not plan to do professional development activity for compensation in the upcoming year Planning related to professional development for compensation is uncertain at this time A separate PD Plan form must be completed and signed by the faculty member and the dean. The dean is to offer advice in the creation of the faculty member’s PD Plan and to sign off indicating that the activities are worthwhile for the purpose of professional development. There is considerable discretion on the part of this dean/faculty collaboration to create a plan of activities worthy of reward, within the spirit of the plan guidelines. The plan may be created anytime from May to December. As with other goal-setting, it is understood that the PD Plan is open to changes and amendments as the year progresses allowing the faculty member to take advantage of opportunities as they arise. However, after the PD Plan has been signed off by the dean, any further changes would require consultation and signature of the dean. Prospective plans must be financially feasible. Therefore, any activity the faculty member lists as a part of their PD Plan does not imply formal approval for funding by the college. Name: Evaluation Period: Division:
