Valencia College East Campus Library/Academic Success Center Internet and Technology Use Guidelines ACCESS TO THE INTERNET IS PROVIDED FOR THE ACADEMIC SUPPORT AND RESEARCH OF VALENCIA’S STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF. 1. Users must have a valid Valencia Student ID or equivalent Library card. Use of Internet access computers is on a first-come first-served basis. The college reserves the right to limit access to computing resources and equipment. 2. Internet workstation use is limited to two hour time increments. The stand-up research kiosks are limited to 15 minute increments. 3. Since Internet workstation display screens are in view of all patrons and staff, users are not permitted to display any visual images, sounds or text that could reasonably be perceived as harassing. 4. Users shall not use college computer or telecommunication resources to download, intentionally view, store or transmit images that could reasonably be considered as obscene or pornographic. 5. If users wish to save files they must provide their own removable media. The Library and ASC are not responsible for damage or liability that may occur during the use of the library’s resources. The East Campus Library and Academic Success Center reserve the right to modify these guidelines at any time.
