Orange ▪ Osceola ▪ Valencia Career Pathways Consortium PC Support/Computer Systems Technology Articulation 2011-2012 Students have an opportunity to earn technical center vocational hours or Valencia College credits (if shown below) when they successfully complete the following requirements: 1. Complete the high school PC Support/Computer Systems courses required with a grade of C or better. 2. Pass the joint assessment while in high school. 3. Enroll and attend the technical center or Valencia College after high school graduation. The Career Pathways credits will be awarded up to 24 months after high school graduation. Students wishing to transfer Career Pathways college credits to a four-year college should check with the chosen institution to determine whether these credits will be accepted.

The joint assessment consists of three parts: 1. Checklist completed by high school teacher. 2. Fifty question multiple-choice test taken from the high school instructor’s textbook. All A+ sections must be covered. Student must pass the test with a minimum of 70%. 3. A technical report on one lab to consist of two to three pages. A minimum score of 80% must be achieved. All parts must be passed. Students may retake the assessment one time in the next school year, if continuing in the PC Support Services Program at the high school teacher’s discretion. If a student has earned the A+ Certification, he/she will only be required to complete the multiple-choice test. A copy of the certification score report must be attached to the student’s cover sheet.
Valencia College Course Received CET 2178C A+ Concepts (Hardware) (3 college credits) At an Orange County Technical Center or Technical Education Center Osceola (TECO), students may receive articulated opportunities based on evaluation of the high school transcripts.
Joint Assessment Required The joint assessment consists of two parts: 1. 70 questions taken from the A+ high school instructor’s textbook to include at least 10 questions from each of the seven topics. An 70% must be achieved. Students may retake the assessment one time in the next school year, if continuing in the PC Support Services Program at the high school teacher’s discretion. 2. An Oral Report according to guidelines. 80% must be achieved on the oral report. A C or better must be achieved. Students must pass both parts. If a student has earned the A+ Certification, he/she will only be required to complete the multiple-choice test. A copy of the certification score report must be attached to the student’s cover sheet.
