t’s just like everyone says, the one thing that most people fear more than death is public speaking. Public speaking was never my forte in life and thus speaking in front of a crowd of strangers and friends caused me to go almost into a state of panic during election speeches last week. The fact that the whole club sits in silence staring at you and the only noise you can hear is the noise you’re making was extremely nerve-wracking. Just being in front of a silent audience was bad enough but discussing what I could offer to the club made me want to throw up on the spot. I think you
WHAT’S UP, KEY CLUBBERS?! Wow, this is my second-to-last newsletter, everyone! ): This is kind of upsetting...anyway, I hope you all are doing well! Elections were four weeks ago and I just want to say that everyone did a terrific
get the point that I was having a panic attack. Well anyway, now that elections are over, I feel confident in fulfilling those promises I made during my speech and having the honor to become bulletin editor for our Key Club. Even though I am truly confident about fulfilling my ambitions and contributing to this club by being bulletin editor, I have to admit, I am nervous about filling this position. I’m the only member of the Key Club officers that hasn’t been on the OCC board in the previous years; in other words, I’m a newbie to this. It’s going to be hard to fill the shoes of the amazing previ-
job! Congratulations to all the new officer -elects and I’m really looking forward to working with you all! Those who didn’t make it, don’t feel discouraged! You still have a chance at committee chair and next year if you’re still an underclassmen! :) Volleyball-a-thon was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who were referees, competed, and helped out! ♥ In Caring, Service, and Friendship, Valerie Wong EHTHS Key Club Bulletin Editor

AH RAH LIKE A D3 SHARKEY! From the East to the West you know we are the best we're the district with the sting and that's why we sing, we're the bees buzz buzz we're the bees buzz buzz it's all about the party-hardy CNH BEES! As a Key Clubber, I am a proud member of Division 3 (soon to be Division 3 South) Sharkeys in the CNH region. I doubt CNH is any different from any other region, Key Club's main goal is to serve people, our motto is "Caring... Our way of life" after all. However, it is a great honor to be part of CNH because I meet people from all over the place, even Hawai'i!I especially love Fall Rally when we go to Six Flags: Magic Mountain, because that is the day where our spirit is at its peak and where we lose our voices. Our service events are also fun, since we are located close to the beach we've done some beach clean ups which is always followed by a hangout, which makes cleaning up worth it! We also volun-
teered at Thrift Stores, I really liked that because the clothes were so cheap and the books were really amazing too! I bought a lot of things while we were volunteering - our President got a Members Only jacket for around $8! What a steal right?! It's really fun being in Key Club, the spirit, the service, and the bonds that you make with people is really priceless. I'm also really stoked for DCON, I wish I can afford to go to ICON, but next time! One thing I can't wait for is our Divisional Banquet, it's when schools from our division dress up all fancy and just celebrate a years worth of service, I really will miss everything about Key Club when I graduate. Heck, you meet people from all over the country, what other club can offer that to you! This club brings people together and builds character in the most unusual way. Without it, I don't know where I'll be or how I'll be as a person and a leader. Aboogah! Aboogah!

t’s one thing to walk into a room full of strangers knowing you’ll never see them again, but it’s another thing when you know that the faces you see are going to become your second family. Walking into the conference room at Ocean Place Spa & Resort felt like a family reunion for the current New Jersey District Board and the lieutenant governor-elects and candidates. At first, there were the awkward greetings but in no time at all, everyone was laughing and talking comfortably. This boot camp-themed weekend gave me a lot of insight
on how Key Club works through all of the workshops and general sessions. A lot of thought is put into every decision and a ton of time is dedicated to following through with those decisions. It was also an amazing experience meeting our District Administrator, Ed Hutchinson, the other wonderful Kiwanians, and our international trustees. I hope everyone is as excited for the upcoming year as the New Jersey District Board is. Remember, DCON and the BY KELLY TRAN Recognition Committee Chair

HTHS Key Club's 11th Annual Volleyball-a-Thon was EHTHS Key Club’s biggest event of the year. About 40 teams clashed off in 36 different rounds in in our gymnasium, all hoping to become the top eight to make it to the playoffs, where they would then play single elimination to make it to the top as winners of VBAT. There was a large variety of teams like the BMFs, the all teacher team Hard-Core, the Pancakes, and so on. It was an incredibly fun and tiring event for everyone. There were lots of things going on at once like the teams playing on the six courts, the refs keeping scores, the Key Club members working at the concession stand, and the members working diligently at the scoring table.

As a referee, I watched over the proceedings of the matches to call for any misconduct or fouls, and also to keep score. Being a referee was very nerve-wracking at first, being that I never played volleyball properly before, but after a couple games the ref process became much smoother and easier as I got to know the rules better. Finally, after several exhausting hours, the winning team Don’t Worry About It beat the runner up No Service in an extremely tight and exciting match. Overall, the event was really fun
