The breathtaking vista over the Sassolungo and Sasso Piatto from the Col Raiser station towards the Seceda chairlift. A stunning view as far as the eye can see on the spacious and linear slope.
DISCOVERING VAL GARDENA AND SEISER ALM
There are plenty of offers for skiers and snowboarders during winter here in South Tyrol. Take the large Sellaronda, a skiing circuit around the Sella massif where skiers can make the most of the carousel both clockwise and anticlockwise. On top of that, there is also another opportunity to sky while never leaving beautiful Val Gardena: the Val Gardena Ronda, of course. This Val Gardena circuit develops across the most beautiful slopes and offers plenty of exciting skiing fun as well as stunning views over the breathtaking Dolomites mountains…
When the weather forecast for the following day is a good one, guests speak directly with the owner of the hotel before dinner. Their aim? To start the next day as early as possible. Guests who like to take things slower will often find the hotel’s breakfast room empty if they come down after 8. In fact, most guests will have eaten a while ago, ready to embrace a sunny day, walking across the sparkling snow and enjoying stunning views. With these conditions, there is only one option, really: the Val Gardena Ronda. Steep and flat slopes, exciting and relaxing descents alternate time and again providing plenty of action and fun, while also giving plenty of opportunities to take in one’s surroundings. Traditional family-run mountain huts alongside the slope offer the perfect excuse to pop in and treat yourself to delicious dishes, some well-deserved relaxation, and making the most of the warm sun on the outside terrace. Before the slope fun kicks off, however, you still have to decide where to start: the Val Gardena Ronda covers the entire valley! As a circuit, you can choose to kick off from Ortisei, S. Cristina or Selva Val Gardena and then return to where you started. If you were to choose the S. Cristina route, for example, you would start at the Col Raiser station and then head up all the way to the Seceda. From there, whiz down a 10.5 km descent to Ortisei, take the ‘La Curta’ escalator for the Seiser Alm – Saltria – Monte Pana (ski bus) – Mont de Sëura – Tramans – Ciampinoi –S. Cristina.
