IL PAESE DI NATALE Presepi, canti natalizi e biscotti alla cannella: un Natale dalla A alla Z Quando le giornate diventano più corte, i primi fiocchi abbracciano il paesaggio e l’anno volge lentamente al termine, allora inizia il periodo più meraviglioso dell’anno. Per la seconda volta, dal 27 novembre 2015 al 6 gennaio 2016, Ortisei si trasformerà in un affascinante Paese di Natale. La località dolomitica brillerà come un albero di Natale e inviterà tutti i visitatori a vivere la particolare atmosfera prenatalizia con tutti i sensi. Chi ha già avuto modo di conoscere il Paese di Natale, è sicuramente rimasto incantato dalla sua bellezza. La pittoresca zona pedonale della capitale della Val Gardena, infatti, è ancora più bella nel periodo che va dall’Avvento all’Epifania. In queste settimane l’amato centro sarà abbellito da casette di legno caratteristiche, presepi tradizionali, tantissime ghirlande luminose e innumerevoli alberi di Natale. Qui ci si può tuffare dentro un mondo di prodotti regionali e specialità gastronomiche. Qui si potranno acquistare articoli artigianali e regalini davvero originali. Qui è anche il posto dove un aromatico vin brulé in compagnia di amici e parenti diventerà un’esperienza indimenticabile. Ovviamente ci saranno anche tante manifestazioni, che renderanno l’atmosfera ancora più suggestiva. Diverse associazioni locali invitano ad ascoltare canti natalizi e a conoscere da vicino la cultura e la tradizione gardenese. Non può mancare un bel calendario d’Avvento – un’usanza molto popolare- che con4

ta i giorni rimanenti fino alla vigilia di Natale. Ogni giorno si aprirà una delle 24 finestre e dietro ogni finestra si nasconderà tanta emozione, un pizzico di impazienza e un po’ di dolce euforia. La voglia di Natale si farà sentire ancora di più, tanto da far tornare in mente ricordi d’infanzia: anche gli adulti non esiteranno a prendere carta e penna per scrivere una letterina a Babbo Natale, che potrà essere imbucata in Piazza Stetteneck. Ovviamente tutta la posta sarà recapitata a Babbo Natale ancora prima di Natale, così che ogni desiderio potrà essere esaudito puntualmente. L’artigianato artistico e la magia natalizia sono i temi principali dell’esposizione di presepi, presentata dall’associazione “Gardena Art” in centro di Ortisei. L’intaglio del legno è un patrimonio artistico antico e prezioso. Specialmente durante l’Avvento questo tesoro della cultura gardenese risplende in tutta la sua bellezza, offrendo ai visitatori un incontro con la tradizione locale. DAS WEIHNACHTSDORF Von A wie Adventskalender bis Z wie Zimtstern Wenn die Tage kürzer werden, der erste Schnee fällt und das Jahr sich dem Ende neigt, dann beginnt die wohl stimmungsvollste Zeit des Jahres. St. Ulrich verwandelt sich heuer vom 27. November 2015 bis zum 6. Januar 2016 in ein bezauberndes Weihnachtsdorf. Es erstrahlt in einem hellen Lichtermeer und lädt alle Besucher ein, die besondere weihnachtliche Stimmung mit allen Sinnen zu genießen. Wer das Weihnachtsdorf von St. Ulrich schon einmal besucht hat, der hat es bestimmt schnell lieb gewonnen. Die malerische Fußgängerzone des Grödner Hauptortes wird im Advent und in der Weihnachtszeit noch um einiges schöner. Denn dann schmücken rustikale Hütten, stilvolle Krippen, zahlreiche Lichterketten und unzählige Weihnachtsbäume die so beliebte Flaniermeile. Hier darf man eintauchen in eine Welt voller regionaler Produkte und gastronomischer Köstlichkeiten. Hier werden Kunsthandwerk und originellste Geschenkideen zum Kauf angeboten. Und hier ist auch der Ort, wo ein aromatischer Glühwein unter Freunden am besten schmeckt. Unterhaltung steht in der Vorweihnachtszeit ebenfalls im Vordergrund. So laden heimische Vereine ein, ruhigen Adventsklängen zu lauschen, Besinnlichkeit und Tradition tief ins Innere dringen zu lassen. Selbstverständlich darf ein Adventskalender nicht fehlen, der noch mehr Vorfreude auf das Weihnachtsfest aufkommen lässt. Jeden Tag wird ein Türchen geöffnet und hinter jedem Türchen steckt ein Stück Erwartung, viel Freude und ein klein wenig 6

San Nicolò - Hl. Nikolaus - St. Nicholas Il 5 dicembre, appena fa buio, San Nicolò passa per le strade del paese accompagnato dai suoi angeli e dal servitore, entra nelle case dei bambini, portando loro dei regali, lodandoli oppure rimproverandoli all’occorrenza. Viene anche accompagnato da alcuni diavoli, (Krampus), che però non possono entrare in casa e devono aspettare davanti alla porta. Am 5. Dezember, sobald es dunkel wird, zieht der Hl. Nikolaus zusammen mit seinen Engeln und Knecht Ruprecht von Haus zu Haus und bringt den braven Kindern Geschenke und tadelt sie, wo es angebracht ist. Der Heilige Nikolaus wird auch von Krampussen begleitet; diese dürfen allerdings das Haus nicht betreten und müssen vor der Tür warten. When darkness falls on December 5th, St. Nicholas and his angels, together with the farmhand Ruprecht, goes from house to house bringing some presents to the good children, praising them for their good behaviour during the whole year. At times St. Nicholas is also accompanied by some devils, (Krampus), which are not allowed to enter the house so that they are kept outside the door.

Lettera a Babbo Natale Forse i bambini hanno ancora qualche desiderio: tutti quelli che hanno scritto a Babbo Natale, possono imbucare le loro letterine in un’apposita cassetta postale in Piazza Stetteneck. Naturalmente le lettere dei desideri saranno portate tempestivamente a destinazione.

Brief an das Christkind Wenn es in St. Ulrich um eine tolle Weihnachtsstimmung geht, bleiben keine Wünsche offen – oder doch? Wer noch himmlische Wünsche an das Christkind zu versenden hat, der kann die Post in einem eigenen Briefkasten werfen, der am Stetteneckplatz aufgestellt ist. Die Briefchen werden dann auch garantiert beim Christkind abgeliefert!

La „Tlecanocht“ Ogni giovedì d’Avvento, appena diventa buio, un gruppo di giovani ragazzi, vestiti da contadini, si reca di casa in casa a cantare la “tlecanocht”, canzone d’Avvento tipica gardenese. In cambio ricevono offerte in denaro e dolci fatti in casa. I canti sono accompagnati da flauti, chitarre e fisarmoniche e augurano un felice e sereno Natale a tutti. Die “Klöckelnacht” An den vier Donnerstagen im Advent verkleiden sich Jugendliche, sobald es dunkel wird, als Bauern und ziehen mit dem Lied der “Klöckelnacht” von Haus zu Haus. Die Sänger und Musikanten wünschen eine gesegnete Advents- und Weihnachtszeit. Dafür erhalten sie Süßigkeiten oder Geldspenden. The “Tlecanocht” Every Thursday in December, when darkness falls, groups of young people dress up as local farmers and go from house to house singing and playing the “tlecanocht”, a traditional song. Cornetti vanigliati Per circa 80 biscotti Ingredienti: • 320 g farina • 60 g mandorle, sgusciate e grattugiate • 60 g nocciole, sgusciate e grattugiate • 270 g burro • 120 g zucchero • 2 uova • 1 pizzico di sale Altro: zucchero e zucchero vanigliato Preparazione: • Mescolare la farina con le mandorle e le nocciole. • Impastare il burro tagliato a cubetti, lo zucchero, le uova e il sale. • Unire quest’ultimo con l’impasto di farina. Impastare bene il tutto e arrotolare. • Far riposare in frigorifero per un’ora. • Tagliare l’impasto arrotolato in piccoli pezzetti, formare palline e poi piccoli cornetti. • Posare sul tagliere i cornetti e cuocerli nel forno. • Avvolgere i cornetti ancora caldi nello zucchero vanigliato mescolato con lo zucchero. Temperatura di cottura: 170 - 180 gradi Tempo di cottura: 5 - 7 minuti

Zutaten: • 320 g Mehl • 60 g Mandeln, geschält und fein gerieben • 60 g Haselnüsse, geschält und fein gerieben • 270 g Butter • 120 g Zucker • 2 Eier • 1 Prise Salz Weiteres: Zucker und Vanillezucker

Ingredients: • 320 g flour • 60 g grated almonds • 60 g grated hazelnuts • 270 g butter • 120 g sugar • 2 eggs • 1 pinch salt Other: sugar and vanilla sugar

Zubereitung: • Das Mehl mit den Mandeln und den Haselnüssen vermischen. • Die in Würfel geschnittene Butter, den Zucker, die Eier und das Salz verkneten und zusammen mit dem Mehlgemisch zu einem glatten Teig verarbeiten und eine Rolle formen. • 1 Stunde im Kühlschrank ruhen lassen. • Die Teigrolle in kleine Stücke schneiden, daraus Kugeln formen und dann kleine Rollen walken und zu Kipferln drehen. • Diese auf ein Backblech geben und hellbraun backen. • Die Kipferl noch warm im Vanillezucker-Gemisch wälzen.

Preparation: • Mix the flour with the almonds and the hazelnuts. • Add the diced butter, the eggs and the salt. Combine it with the flour mixture and form a roll. • Let it rest in the fridge for one hour. • Cut the roll pastry in small pieces, form bowls, than roll them and form half-moons. • Put them on the baking tray and bake them till of a light brown. • Volute the still warm biscuits in the sugar - vanilla sugar mixture.

Mostra presepi „Gardena Art“ L’atmosfera natalizia rivive ogni anno con il presepe, rappresentazione della natività e simbolo di pace. La natività, oggi come allora, è un tema d’ispirazione per molti artisti ed il presepe ha da sempre un ruolo di primaria importanza nella tradizione della lavorazione del legno. Oggi numerose ditte produttrici gardenesi di sculture in legno fanno rivivere questa secolare tradizione in opere. Con la rinomata mostra di presepi in legno, l‘Associazione dei produttori di sculture in legno „Gardena Art“ presenta interpretazioni prestigiose della natività.

Krippenausstellung „Gardena Art“ Der Zauber von Weihnachten offenbart sich in der Krippe, welche die Geburt Jesu darstellt und den Frieden symbolisiert. Die Geburt Jesu Christi ist heute wie damals für viele Künstler eine Quelle der Inspiration. So spielt die Krippe auch in der Grödner Holzbearbeitung seit jeher eine wichtige Rolle. Zahlreiche Grödner Holzschnitzer pflegen die jahrhundertealte Krippenschnitzkunst in Werken, die sowohl Tradition als auch aktuellen Zeitgeschmack widerspiegeln. In seiner berühmten Krippenausstellung präsentiert der Verband der Holzschnitzer „Gardena Art“ Arbeiten seiner Werkstätten, die die Krippe auf verschiedene Weise interpretieren.

Crip Exhibition „Gardena Art“ Every year the magic of Christmas is reflected in the nativity scene, which portrays the birth of Jesus and symbolizes peace. Then as now the nativity is a source of inspiration for many artists. Ever since the nativity also played a major role in Val Gardena’s wood carving tradition. Numerous local wood cravers contribute to the centuries-old art of nativity scene carving with their works, which mirror tradition as well as today’s prevailing taste. During the exhibition the wood carver’s association “Gardena Art” shows the art works of its studios, which interpret the Nativity in various ways. 48

Mostra - Ausstellung - Exhibition: Franz Lenhart Nato a Kufstein, Franz J. Lenhart (1898 - 1992) studiò a Vienna e Firenze, prima di approdare nel 1922, già giovane grafico, a Merano. Due anni più tardi riuscì a vendere all‘ENIT, Ente Nazionale Italiano per il Turismo, un suo manifesto, „Visitate le Dolomiti“, che fece ben presto il giro della penisola. Entro il 1930 riuscì a definire un proprio stile personale: montagne come sfondo, sulle quali si stagliano figure dinamiche di sportivi o sensuali immagini di avvenenti donne. Gli originali di Lenhart divennero presto una rarità. Franz J. Lenhart (1898-1992) stammte aus Kufstein, studierte in Wien und Florenz und ließ sich 1922 als junger Grafiker in Meran nieder. Bereits zwei Jahre später schaffte er mit einem Plakat für das staatliche Tourismusamt ENIT den Durchbruch: sein „Visitate le Dolomiti“ hing bald in ganz Italien. Spätestens 1930 hatte Lenhart seinen eigenen Stil gefunden: im Hintergrund platzierte er meist Berge, im Vordergrund dynamische Skifahrer oder elegante Frauen mit starker erotischer Ausstrahlung. Lenhart-Originale waren bald eine gesuchte Rarität. Franz J. Lenhart (1898-1992) originated from Kufstein, studied in Vienna and Florence and in 1922 settled in Meran as a young graphic designer. Just two years later he achieved a breakthrough with his poster for ENIT, the Italian national tourism agency: his „Visitate le Dolomiti“ soon appeared all over Italy. Calendario d‘Avvento Per la prima volta la Scuola Media di Ortisei ha elaborato il progetto „Calendario d’Avvento“. Le diverse classi hanno elaborato lavori a proposito del tema “Natale in Val Gardena”. Gli scolari vogliono esprimere i sentimenti dei giovani in merito alle festività natalizie. I lavori, durante il periodo natalizio, saranno proiettati giornalmente alle ore 17.00 sulla parete esterna della Casa di Cultura in Piazza Stetteneck.

Adventskalender Die Mittelschule St. Ulrich wird heuer den Adventskalender im Rahmen des Weihnachtsdorfes gestalten. Mehrere Klassen beteiligen sich unter Anleitung der Lehrpersonen mit dem Thema „Weihnachten in Gröden“. Sie wollen die Gefühle der jungen Menschen zum althergebrachten Fest kreativ ausdrücken. Die Arbeiten werden während der Adventszeit täglich ab 17.00 Uhr auf die Außenwand des Kulturhauses am Stetteneckplatz projiziert.

Advent calendar This year the secondary school of Ortisei featured the Advent calendar for the Christmas Village. Under the direction of a teacher several classes take part to this initiative under the issue of “Christmas in Val Gardena”. The students express the feelings of the young people regarding the Christmas celebrations. The works are going to be projected during the Christmas period, daily starting from 17.00 p.m. on the external wall of the Cultural Centre on the Stetteneck Square. 53

I lavori sono espressione della forza creativa e del talento artistico dei singoli maestri artigiani. Una unicità che viene garantita dal marchio di tutela e l’apposito certificato della Camera di commercio di Bolzano. A Roncadizza l’unione di artigiani artistici gardenesi UNIKA espone alcune delle loro opere. Inoltre si possono osservare gli scultori all’opera. UNIKA ist 1994 als Zusammenschluss verschiedener Künstler und Kunsthandwerker aus Gröden, und zwar Holzbildhauer, Fassmaler, Vergolder und Verzierungsbildhauer entstanden. Erklärte Ziele sind die direkte Vermarktung der Einzelstücke, der künstlerische und fachliche Austausch und die Nachwuchswerbung für die Berufe im Kunsthandwerk. UNIKA steht für Einzelstücke, Unikate eben. Damit wird betont, dass die Arbeiten der Bildhauer und Maler der UNIKA-Gruppe individuell angefertigte Werke sind. Sie sind Ausdruck der schöpferischen Kraft und des kunsthandwerklichen Talents der einzelnen Meister. Eine Einzigartigkeit, die mit der Schutzmarke und dem Zertifikat der Handelskammer Bozen garantiert wird. In Runggaditsch stellen 39 Künstler der UNIKA einige ihrer Werke aus.
