GARDENS
Flaming Bistro
Francuska 2
With its perfect white colours, the glass-fronted oblong form of the Łepkowskich Villa imparts a fresh, modernist elegance. A place that blurs the line between café, bar and restaurant, hit the back garden to find a space in-filled with well-spaced wooden decks slotted amid the plant life. Climb the glorious spiral stairwell for splendid views of what ranks as one of Warsaw’s best gardens.
Klonn
Jazdów 1B
Klonn means maple tree, and that’s exactly what you’ll find while lounging outside. Said to be 180-years-old (give or take the odd year or two), find it acting as the cornerstone of a back garden scattered with tables and bristling with greenery. Set just a whisper away from Ujazdowskie Castle, the modern international cuisine, slicky and artsy vibe make it a must on starlit nights.
Café Podrygi
Jerzolimskie 3
Past a pair of wrought iron gates, and up a neatly pebbled path, visitors saunter into the neatly clipped gardens of the National Museum – the pristine immensity of what lies ahead is striking, and especially when the modernist architecture is illuminated at night. Such is the power of the backdrop, Podrygi don’t need to do much else other than serve sophisticated cocktails.
Pokój na lato
Grzybowska 79
Climb the wooden stairs and you enter a world cut off from outside forces: stepping into various light, timber chambers, visitors traipse past a plant ‘hotel’, wicker bubble seats dangling from ropes, suspended plant pots and different corners in which to chill. Concerts, workshops, culinary classes, author meets and yoga sessions add texture to this multi-purpose venue / bar.
Muzealna
Jerozolimskie 3
Hidden in the basement of the National Museum, this minimalistic space – decorated with applied artworks by Poland’s top design pioneers – opens out onto a shaded back garden in which towering trees shimmer overhead. This isolated green idyll is perfect to enjoy a seasonal menu of modern Polish food and natural wines. Light and playful, the choices are a song to the summer.
Reginbar Mysia
Mysia 3
The menu mixes Little Italy and China Town, whilst cocktails are fun, flirty and often Asian-inspired. Inside, the windows of this steel, primrose and sky blue decorated space fling open to look onto a back garden concealed by hedges and shrubs. Unsurprisingly, it’s become an essential check-in for Warsaw’s most wanted: 30-year-old crypto traders, selfie-taking influencers, fashion students and upcoming celebs.
