AVB Celebrates Opening of New Rose District Branch November 3, 2015 marked the official grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration of the new AVB Downtown Broken Arrow branch. By Duane Blankenship The grand opening Celebration of the new AVB downtown branch was November 3, 2015. The new bank is located on Main in the heart of Broken Arrow’s Rose District. AVB Bank has been a stalwart fixture throughout the community for 110 years. The celebration kicked off with champagne and a tour of the new bank lobby. AVB President/CEO Ted Cundiff served as Master of Ceremonies and welcomed those attending. Dr. Clarence Oliver, former Broken Arrow superintendent of schools, asked the blessing. Wes Smithwick, Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce President/CEO, stated, “I get the opportunity to attend a lot of grand openings, ribbon cuttings and parties, but nobody throws a party like AVB!” Smithwick added, “I knew we
would end up with a nice bank, but didn’t expect it to be quite this grand. It is a fabulous addition to the AVB family, but also a fabulous addition to the Rose District. I knew it wouldn’t be an AVB project without some form of art, and it is spectacular this time!” Matt Pivarnik, executive vice president and COO of the Tulsa Regional Chamber, thanked Board Chair Kelley Kimbrough Rash, President/CEO Ted Cundiff, and the entire AVB family for their generosity of time and support to the Broken Arrow community. He recognized AVB Bank as recipient of the 2013 Tulsa Regional Chamber of Commerce Award for Family Owned Business. By Duane Blankenship “We’re bringing back Riverside Chevrolet,” said Billy Caperton of David Stanley’s Riverside Chevrolet. “This dealership has gone through multiple changes in personnel and owners over the past 10 years, and we’re focused on making David Stanley’s Riverside Chevrolet greater than it’s ever been.” The new dealership officially became David Stanley’s Riverside Chevrolet on October 21. Billy Caperton is the store’s general manager and partner, and Joe Gibson is the fixed operations manager. Both men grew up in Tulsa and collectively have over 56 years in the automotive industry. The David Stanley name has a strong presence in the Oklahoma automotive market. Mr. Stanley grew up in Nowata on his family’s farm.
