Ten Point Master Plan The Rock Church has an ultimate plan to reach Tulsa and the community by serving God and loving people. By Jim Butcher
“Are you familiar with the Ten Point Master Plan of the Rock Church?” asks Pastor Billy Joe Watts. “We need your help in serving God and helping His people through this plan.” The Rock Church is a multiracial, diverse congregation that continues to grow. Today about 200 regularly attend the weekly 10 a.m. Sunday worship service at the Union High School Performing Arts Center, located immediately behind the football stadium, at 6636 S. Mingo Road. Connection classes begin at 9 a.m. and worship services are at 10. Bible Study is held each Wednesday at 7 p.m. Why has membership contin-
ued to grow? Pastor Billy Joe believes that they offer something for every member of the family and anyone who wants to serve God and help His people are welcomed to join them for a unique experience. “You will feel God, feel His love and feel the Rock. The roots of happiness grow deepest in the soil of service, and that’s how our church grows as we engage in cultivating the soil of service. We try to do things that will zero in on our outreach within the Tulsa community as we get outside our four walls and share the faith.” Pastor Billy Joe outlines the Rock Church’s ultimate Ten (continued on page 24)

Is a “double chin” bringing you down? This common condition affects people of all ages and sizes, even those who are otherwise in excellent shape. Excess fat under the chin and in the upper area of the neck can often be difficult to eliminate through diet and exercise, leaving many individuals feeling frus-
trated and self-conscious. Traditionally, the only cosmetic procedure to treat this annoying problem has been facial liposuction. Now, two new treatments are available that are changing the double chin game forever. “We are excited to offer a new FDA approved injection called KYBELLA™ at BA Med Spa & Weight Loss Center,” said

Nothing thrills me more than a new prospective client coming in to their first appointment with one of my Money Maven articles in hand and talking about how much I have helped them. Wow! What a huge compliment. It warms my heart because I am passionate about helping people with their money and I am committed to their success. I believe that this is one of the things I am called here on this earth to do. There are a couple of common themes of questions that folks usually have in that free initial appointment. I thought I would address them here for others who may be wondering the same thing. Question #1… Often folks want to know if they are the type of client that we take on. Just so you know, my clients are from varying walks of life. They are Mr. and Mrs. Smith that have worked hard for the last 37 years at XYZ Company that are nearing retirement and need to rollover their 401k’s and pensions. They are 40-60 year old business owners, doctors, engineers, secretaries, dental assistants, nurses who have been saving for 20 to 30 years and have their investments all over the place (from old 401k’s to investment accounts at other firms). They need help figuring out what to do, if they are saving enough, and what else they need to be doing, etc. They are referrals from CPA’s and
potentially grow their money they should consider investing in it.
attorneys that are coming to me after a divorce or death of a loved one because they have no idea what they have and even less what to do with it. Occasionally, I get someone really new to the investment world who is in their 20’s and very motivated. That is amazing too! No, not all of my clients are millionaires. Some are, but most are regular everyday folks who have between 100-250 thousand and have been saving through their 401k’s at work or have investment accounts at other places that they aren’t getting much help with. They are “millionaires in training” that understand it is about working for it and not wishing for it. They are not waiting for things to happen. They are going out and making them happen. And lastly, they value what we bring to the table. They understand that in order to
The other common question we often get relates to what services we provide. How does all this work? I would say 90% of the new folks who come to me want us to manage their investments. They want to bring over accounts or 401k’s from other places and have us manage and invest them. We do an initial financial plan at no charge for them because we have to develop a roadmap for where we are going and how we will get there in order to effectively manage their investments when they come over. The other 10% are looking for a fee for advice type of arrangement. They want to pay a set fee for our time and have us provide a financial plan or offer investment advice. We can do both but the latter is less utilized because with the volatile market environment, investment advice today is likely to change rapidly and also involves out-of-pocket expense. Remember, you’ve got to take the bull by the horns! You’ve got to start. I promise you that you will be glad you did. For more information go to www.waterstonewealth.com. How Your Dentist Can Help You Get A Better Night’s Sleep White Cosmetic & Family Dentistry offers effective solutions for people suffering from TMJ and sleep apnea. By Sheryl Sowell Dr. Steven White has offered dental services to Tulsa and the surrounding communities for over 35 years. He provides a wide range of services in a friendly, comforting environment using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques. “We want to alert everyone to two conditions that are major health concerns,” says Dr. White. “One is TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders; the other is sleep apnea. Both disorders can be treated in our office.” If you can’t open your mouth wide without pain, if you hear clicking or popping, or if your jaw ever locks up, it’s a good bet you’ve got an issue with the jaw joint. One of the most common symptoms of TMJ disorder is frequent, debilitating headaches. We don’t often associate headaches with a dental origin that may be treated successfully by a knowledgeable dentist. Recommended treatment is often bite guard (orthotic splint) therapy. However, simply putting a piece of plastic between the teeth does not ensure permanent results. Bite guards are customized to each patient and must be periodically adjusted as the joint heals. Although adjustments are generally completed in two to three months, you must continue
wearing the appliance in order to remain symptom-free and safe from relapse. Most cases resolve easily and result in far fewer headaches and earaches and less jaw popping and joint pain. “Results are usually life changing,” says Dr. White. Dr. White also treats sleep apnea with fitted appliances. The public has become more aware of the disorder because research has disclosed its devastating consequences. It has been implicated in hypertension and cardiovascular disease, leading to strokes and heart attacks. These in turn lead to increased susceptibility to diseases that include compromised immune systems, learning and memory loss, irritability, sexual dysfunction, and mental and emotional health issues. Apnea occurs because the body is unable to obtain sufficient amounts of oxygen during sleep. The patient is essentially startled awake gasping for air. Dr. White fits patients with appliances that open the airway and allow for a healthy night’s sleep. “Snoring, choking or gasping for air throughout the night will be eliminated,” said Dr. White. He recommends sleep studies administered by a physician to determine the severity of the problem, with a diagnosis and recommended treatment. In severe cases, CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machines are recommended. “Because some patients cannot tolerate sleeping with a mask, the appliance is an option. These devices are also fitted to help eliminate snoring. Medical insurance benefits are usually available when sleep studies have been conducted.” Dr. White and the White Cosmetic & Family Dentistry team report that they have had a tremendous response to their QDP (Quality Dental Plan) program, which is a low-cost alternative to expensive dental insurance. “Our QDP offers a way for patients to receive full routine exams and cleanings, plus reduced fees for all services, with none of the common
hassles encountered with dental insurance,” said Dr. White. “Because insurance companies aren’t making profits by limiting or denying services, the dentist and consumer save time and money. No third party.” Dr. White adds that the plan could save you thousands on dental treatment and eliminate costly insurance premiums, which puts money back in your pocket.

Her career began in 1999 as a financial advisor at Edward Jones, where she ran her own office and was also volunteer regional trainer for new advisors. The couple recently introduced a new annual program called “Millionaires In Training.” It is designed to empower entrepreneurs and future millionaires everywhere through education, training and advocacy. “The Millionaires In Training workshop is designed for middle-aged, pre-retirement investors who have saved through 401(k)s, have dollars to rollover and are interested in aggressively saving toward individual retirement goals,” says Melanie. “The program
is also ideal for business owners with like backgrounds, interests and similar goals. Millionaires In Training workshops are also for the beginning investor interested in learning basic concepts including types of investment accounts – stocks, mutual funds, bonds, CDs, 401(k)s, etc.—retirement accounts, how to set up a budget, pay down debt, and receive a basic understanding of how the world of investing works.” Millionaires In Training will be presented in quarterly workshops to be held in Tulsa and Owasso. The first workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, November 17, at the Owasso Patriot Golf Clubhouse located at 5790 N. Patriot Drive in Owasso. Classes will commence at 6 p.m. and conclude at 8 p.m. Cost is $25 per person, and prior registration and payment is required. Seating is very limited. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served. CCelebrate Life Tulsa cancer survivor celebrated five-year treatment milestone at annual CTCA “Celebrate Life” event.
By Mary Waller Celebrating every moment since her cancer diagnosis, Betty Jones, of Tulsa, Okla., was among more than 190 cancer survivors who celebrated their five-year milestone since their first treatment at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Southwestern Regional Medical Center. The celebrants were honored at the hospital’s annual “Celebrate Life” event Sept. 18 in Tulsa. “This year’s event theme was ‘Looking Forward,’ a reminder of all of the significant milestones our patients anticipate and desire to participate in, as well as looking forward to reaching their five-year cancer anniversary,” said Richard Haldeman, president and chief executive officer of the Tulsa hospital. “We are honored to be able to share this meaningful milestone with our
patients.” Jones, a before- and afterschool program team member with Owasso Public Schools, was diagnosed with stage III colorectal cancer while living in Amarillo, Tex. A local doctor suggested she check out CTCA. “When I walked in the door at CTCA in Tulsa, I felt a comforting and peaceful feeling,” said Jones. “I received TomoTherapy® and chemotherapy, but I also received hope, love and compassion.” She is happy to report she is symptom free now. “I credit CTCA with giving me a chance at life and for the energy to work with the pre-K through fifth graders I oversee at the school and summer camps.” Jones is looking forward to many more years with her

Free Assistance with Medicare Part D Plans LIFE Senior Services helps Medicare beneficiaries compare and select their prescription drug coverage for 2016. Open Enrollment runs through December 7.
By Carol Carter For most Medicare beneficiaries, the Medicare Open Enrollment period, which runs through December 7, is their only opportunity each year to enroll or change their healthcare and Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage. Unfortunately, most beneficiaries don’t take time to review their drug coverage – and end up paying more than necessary because they are tied to a plan that no longer fits their specific prescription needs. In fact, it is estimated that 90 to 95 percent of Medicare beneficiaries pay too much for their Part D coverage because they aren’t on the most effective plan. Medicare Part D helps thousands of Oklahoma Medicare beneficiaries, especially those with modest incomes or extremely high prescription drug costs, enabling them to better afford the medications they need for both chronic and life-threatening health conditions. According to Cindy Loftin, coordinator of the Medicare As-
LIFE’s MAP team (Medicare Assistance Program), from left: Cindy Loftin, MAP Coordinator; Cindy Reese and Kathleen Seifert. sistance Program at LIFE Senior Services, “Beneficiaries need to review their Part D coverage for 2016. Even if they have been satisfied with their current plan, the across-the-board changes each year in plan costs, co-pays and coverage make it critically important for beneficiaries to take a fresh look at their coverage options.” For 2016, there are 24 standalone Part D plans in Oklahoma, down from 30 this year. All the plans have changed aspects of their 2016 coverage, whether it be their premiums, deductibles, copays and/or their formularies. The only way for beneficiaries to effectively compare plans is using the Plan Finder on the Medicare.
gov website and inputting their prescriptions. The Medicare Assistance Program at LIFE opened its Part D Enrollment Assistance Clinic October 15, offering free, personalized, unbiased assistance based on beneficiaries’ individual prescription needs. The program serves Medicare beneficiaries, both seniors and adults with disabilities, throughout northeast Oklahoma. According to Loftin, “At the clinics we work with beneficiaries one-onone using the Medicare website to help them compare, select and enroll in a Part D plan that best fits their individual prescription and budget needs. In just one hour, we can help them make sure that they
are getting the best coverage for their money.” LIFE Senior Services, a Tulsabased non-profit United Way organization, has helped more than 25,000 Medicare beneficiaries with their Part D decisions since the federal program first came into existence in 2006. Last year, 64 percent of the beneficiaries LIFE counseled either switched Part D plans or enrolled for the first time, saving an average of more than $1,900 per person. Altogether, LIFE helped beneficiaries save more than $1.6 million on their prescription drug costs for 2015. The Part D Assistance Clinics are held at LIFE Senior Services,

GGo Cajun for the Holidays Solve your holiday food challenges and send unique gifts with online ordering ng at Cajun Ed’s Hebert’s Specialty Meats.
By Jim Butcher The holiday season is fast approaching, bringing together family, friends and, of course, food. Cajun Ed’s Hebert’s Specialty Meats can be your best friend during this hectic season. Turkey and ham are the basics for most dinner tables for Thanksgiving and Christmas. However, if you’re looking for something different and delicious, “Cajun Ed” Richard highly recommends turducken. “For the uninitiated, the turducken represents the ultimate main course. The dish features a deboned turkey with a deboned duck stuffed inside, with a deboned chicken inside of that. All three birds are filled with pork sausage and cornbread dressing and seasoned with a special blend of Cajun spices. The result is a savory delight with a hint of heat, without an ounce of dry meat.” There’s only one place in Tulsa to get the best Cajun food made by real Cajuns – Ed and his family – and the place is Cajun Ed’s Hebert’s Specialty Meats at 2101 E. 71st St. Cajun Ed never planned on owning a meat market, much
less a restaurant. His grandfather owned several restaurants and a catering company in Lafayette, Louisiana, and he worked there in high school. He left Lafayette after college to work for an office product company and made Tulsa his family’s home. Over the years, Cajun Ed thought more and more about getting into the food business. “It was just in the blood. My family was involved in it. I’ve always cooked, just not professionally, but I always wanted to.” In 1998, the original market opened at 81st and Lewis. Ed’s idea was to make products under Federal USDA inspection and legally ship them all over the United States. Cajun Ed’s Hebert’s is one of only two federally inspected facilities in Tulsa and has a full time inspector on site daily overseeing production. You can maximize family time by bringing home the finest Cajun-style cuisine from a wide selection of meats including turducken, ham, beef tenderloin and much more. Check out the menu online – www.CajunEd. com – or simply call if you have any questions. Cajun Ed’s prepares meat and seafood orders and packages
them in vacuum-sealed bags. Allll the customer has to do is pick up their order and place the meat in the oven. There are plenty off sides and desserts to choose from om to complement your main course, se, too. Favorites like broccoli cheese ese casserole, cornbread dressing, sweet potato casserole and andoille oille cornbread dressing are amongstt the many options on the menu.. Desserts include key lime pie, pecan pie, chocolate ganache che pie and more. Everything is made ade from scratch, using authentic recipes brought directly to Tulsa sa by Cajun Ed himself. Of course, there are more exotic items that are found onlyy in Cajun culinary circles. For instance, if you want to put some “snap” into your menu, serve your guests alligator meat. If gator ribs sound a bit intimidating, consider Cajun frog legs. And it wouldn’t be a Cajun restaurant without crawfish. In fact, every May, they put on a crawfish festival, complete with live music in the parking lot. If you want to sit down to a true Cajun-styled dinner, the restaurant is open Monday through Saturday. The lunch menu is served Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday

It’s the same with Dr. Michele Neil-Sherwood (known wn as Dr. Michele), internal medicine/ ne/ sports medicine physician, and d Naturopathic Doctor Mark Sherwood (known as Dr. Mark). k). The couple created Functional Medical Institute ute (FMI) of Tulsa to guide peoplee toward a lifetime of health and d wellness. From cable television to books ooks to personal speaking engagements ents and one-on-one consultations at the Functional Medical Institute, te, the husband and wife duo are committed to a four-pronged approach (known as the ‘4E’ philosophy) to total healing. The he ‘4’ stands for the four elementss of a person – physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual. The ‘E’ stands for “ever.” “When a person experiences wellness as a whole, they experience ‘peace,’ rather than experiencing ‘disease,’” said Dr. Michele. Recorded in Dallas, this dynamic duo is seen twice weekly on 4E TV, which airs in the Tulsa metro area on Cox 9/ATT 47 at 10 p.m. Tuesdays and 12:30 p.m. Thursdays. He returned to the Navy that same year, when the first peacetime draft in the history of the United States was imposed. “We went to Norfolk, Virginia, and all retirees who had been to sea were sent to man the ships,” says Bill. and thus led to the United States’ entry into World War II. He was stationed in Reykjavik, Iceland at the time, and returned to the States a month later. From there Bill spent 18 months in the Solomon Islands. In 1944, he returned to board a new ship, the USS Hamlin (AV-15). While aboard the Hamlin, the crew first traveled to Pearl Harbor, where they loaded aviation gasoline and supplies. The ship was later sent to Iwo Jima to provide a base from which fighter aircraft could protect B-29s in bombing missions over Japan. The Hamlin arrived two days after the historic Battle of Iwo Jima, and along with two other ships established a floating seaplane base for search and rescue missions. Their work was performed amid nearly constant air attack by Japanese suicide planes, and, though many ships in the anchorage were damaged by repeated attacks, the USS Hamlin fought off all attacks without injury. During this time, Bill was designated a Navy warrant officer. When the war finally ended in 1945, Bill was able to return home to Tulsa after nearly a decade spent traveling around the world. He began working for a phone company for $25 a week, and in six years, he was running the head office. He retired as a second line manager after 34 years with the company. Bill spent 70 years as a Mason and 30+ years with Shriners International. He has survived two wives and three children. At 97, he continues to live independently in his own home in Tulsa, with help from Candi, who assists him three times a week. Candi loves to hear Bill’s life story when she visits. “He is an amazing person and has lived through so much. I’m thrilled to hear his experiences.”

Skin Ambitions, a medical spa in Tulsa that celebrated its one year anniversary in October, provides laser services, Botox, fillers, peels, and other cosmetic services that give clients the confidence boost they’re looking for. The holidays are filled with social engagements and parties – why not schedule your free consultation and see what they can do to help you feel beautiful, poised and self-assured? Skin Ambitions stands apart from other medical spas in the area for its personalized approach to clients. Owner Olga Arnold offers a client-focused attitude in everything she does. She will sit down with a client, determine a treatment plan, discuss realistic expectations and goals, and develop a trusting professional relationship. She also provides pricing up-front – she explains exactly the treatments you will receive and how much it will cost, with no surprise fees or extra charges. The majority of her clients are referred from others who were extremely happy with the personal service Olga provides. In addition to open
communication and individualized, one-on-one service, Skin Ambitions is unique in its treatment offerings. Many of the treatments available are popular in Europe and on the East and West coasts, but have yet to make their way in popularity to the Midwest. Therefore, some options at Skin Ambitions are not available anywhere else in the Tulsa area. Two popular services at Skin Ambitions include the Ballancer and PRP. The Ballancer is an aesthetic compression therapy system used for lymphatic drainage. This detoxifying treatment helps treat cellulite, ease muscular pain, improve circulation and digestion, and strengthen connective tissue. Essentially, it is a device that stimulates lymph drainage into the kidney, causing the body to excrete all of its toxins. Check the website, www.skinambitionstulsa. com, for more information and special pricing. Most of us experience a loss of volume and skin quality that result in the following: crow’s feet, lip and frown lines, deep depressions around the nose and mouth, volume loss in the cheeks, sagging around the jaw line and
dehydrated skin. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a treatment thatt can help. PRP is made from yourr own blood and is a simple, nonn. surgical way to stimulate collagen. It can be used as an injectable forr the face and other areas, but also topically in conjunction with a Dermapen for quicker and more visible results. ly PRP has been used medically for years to expedite wound healing, repair tendons, ligamentt and joint damage, heal diabetic ulcers, and help regrow muscle and bone. When PRP is placed back into the skin by injection or micro-needling, it initiates a central cell response. Over the weeks and months following treatment, this cell response recruits collagen-producing cells. These new cells replace tissue that has been damaged or lost through the aging process with healthy skin that looks refreshed and rejuvenated. The healing properties of the blood components in PRP can be used as an effective cosmetic treatment for reducing fine lines and wrinkles, tightening and toning skin, moderate to mild collagen and volume loss, crow’s feet, dark under eye circles, acne scarring

and rosacea. Scars and stretch marks also respond well to PRP treatment where other methods have failed. As you’re preparing for company parties and family gettogethers this season, consider giving yourself the treat of looking and feeling your best. Skin Ambitions provides personal, friendly service and options that are unique to the area.

Do You Choose to Help? Choices for Life Foster Care in Sapulpa provides therapeutic foster care services for children with unique needs. By Jim Butcher How large is your heart? Not physically, but its capacity to love and care for children? What about for children with special needs? Bringing a child into your home to live is a truly benevolent act, but it can be especially challenging when the child has special needs. Choices for Life Foster Care in Sapulpa specializes in therapeutic foster care for children with unique needs. Having contracted with the Department of Human Services, the agency places children from traumatizing households into homes with foster parents who are willing to go above and beyond usual expectations and provide loving environments that encourage healing, learning and growth. “We get referrals daily from DHS about children who need our services, but we simply do not have enough foster parents and homes,” explains Christine Hamner, MS, LPC, LADC, clinical supervisor for Choices for Life in Sapulpa. The need for qualified and responsible foster parents willing to take on relatively challenging cases is ongoing. “Potential foster parents need to understand the reality of the situation,” she adds. The cases they take often involve heartbreaking stories, ranging from physical and emotional abuse to
drug addiction in the household. Indeed, it takes a special type of person to not only consider stepping into such situations, but to commit to helping these children heal and learn how to live a life of normalcy. There are a few basic steps that potential foster parents should expect as they consider working with Choices for Life. “You have to be truly honest with yourself,” Hamner says. “Ask yourself, ‘Do I have the desire to foster a child, and am I prepared to help provide certain qualities that are missing in their life?’” Hamner, who earned a master’s degree at Northeastern State University and has worked in mental health for more than a decade, notes that helping these children can be most rewarding – “rewarding in a way that will touch your life as well.” Every applicant is thoroughly investigated, including financial, DMV and OSBI background checks. Choices for Life is committed to ensuring that foster homes are focused on providing a healthy environment for these children and that potential parents are not viewing the situation as a means to balancing their household budget. Foster parents are financially
reimbursed up to $45 per day for child maintenance; incentives include referral bonus, teenage placement bonus, Christmas bonus, paid respite, and free training and certification. Choicess for Life is committed to ensuring that children have adequate space and a healthy family atmosphere, and that means home inspections are important before and during the fostering process. Children range in age from ass young as 4 to 17. The minimum age for foster parents is 21, while most are 35 to 50. Comprehensivee training and support is just one of the many facets of Choice for Life’s unique approach to providing wraparound services forr therapeutic foster care. Therapistss meet with families in the home at least once per week. The agency provides 24-hour phone support and works with schools to ensure appropriate attention and care are considered in the child’s academic environment – crucial in any child’s life. Treatment plans are updated every 90 days, ensuring families, therapists, schools and child are all on the same page and are attentive to the real-time needs of everyone involved. All of this combines to create a foster agency that exceeds standards and expectations and connects

If interested in fostering or searching for a way to make a positive difference in the lives of children in need, then you owe it to yourself and the community to contact Choices for Life. There is no better time than the present to give the gift of a loving home to a child in need. “We’re in this together to make a positive change in these children’s lives,” says Hamner.

Ten Point Master Plan continued from page 1 Point Master Plan: 1. Develop a multi-racial, multi-cultural, word based ministry in the Tulsa area. 2. Establish a multi-complex building to facilitate all activities of our church and ministry functions. 3. Build an educational addition for Christian education and professional training. 4. Build a gym and fitness complex for training, health, and wellness issues that relate to good health. 5. Expand into radio and television locally. 6. Send missionaries to other countries. 7. Teach communications skills to lay members as well as working professionals. 8. Establish a music school for community kids.
9. Establish affordable housing opportunities for community members through our Reach One Foundation. 10. Develop an outreach center to provide food and clothing to the poor. “If you believe in going into every man’s world and demonstrating the nature of Christ by first serving God, loving people, and preaching Jesus Christ is the way to salvation and bring healing and restoration, then help us achieve our Ten Point Master Plan,” Pastor Billy Joe says. “They go hand in hand.” One of the many components of the overall mission is the Timothy Project, a life coaching and mentoring program. It lays out a strategy for successful living by asking,
“Who will you be?” as it focuses on the virtues of integrity and honesty. “The goal of the project is to provide a redefinition of manhood,” said Pastor Billy Joe, pointing to Romans 12:2. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.’” Billy Joe asks young men to show him their friends and he’ll show the young men their future. “We can’t wait to reach these young men,” he said. “We must do it while they’re still in school and address ‘at risk’ issues before they become huge risks.” The Timothy Project is looking for sponsorships, grants and opportunities to team up with organizations that will help provide funding to expand the
visions of young men. Pastor Theresa, Billy Joe’s wife, leads The Rock’s Ladies of Royalty program, a monthly gathering of young women ages 18 to 25 looking to be everything God created them to be. “Our ladies are learning what it means to be a woman of royalty walking in the promises of God. Our hopes are to bring our young women back to reality and teach them valuable life skills,” said Pastor Theresa. Many young women graduate from high school and find themselves asking, ‘Who am I? What do I do and where do I go now?’ If these young women had first found out who they were in Christ, they probably wouldn’t be having these thoughts now. Ladies of Royalty helps them under-
Get Rid of Submental Fullness on the Double chin, or submental fullness. KYBELLA contains a molecule called deoxycholic acid, which occurs naturally in the human body. Deoxycholic acid essentially destroys fat cells, and KYBELLA utilizes the molecule to do just that in targeted areas of the chin. Once the excess fat cells have broken down, they will be gradually filtered from the body through natural metabolic processes. Absolutely no
surgery or extended recovery times are involved. The inoffice procedure is usually completed in about 15 to 20 minutes. “With KYBELLA you will begin to see results immediately. For best results, two to four treatments are required and can each be done 30 days apart,” adds Melody. For those who are weary of injectables, another option is offered at BA Med Spa. The #1 non-invasive fat reduc-
tion treatment available, CoolSculpting, can now be treated under the chin and near the arms where many ladies get “bra bulge.” Unlike most other methods of fat reduction, CoolSculpting involves no needles, no anesthesia, no surgery and no downtime. Developed by Harvard scientists, this procedure uses a targeted cooling process that kills the fat cells underneath the skin, literally

She also provides a program strictly to treat acne. This treatment program combines chemical or enzyme peels with personalized home care to give clients clear, healthy skin. “I pick and choose between product lines to produce the best results for each person. If you use an anti-aging product that says it is noncomedogenic but is actually not, it can cause breakouts,” she says. “I only offer trusted skin care products that truly do what they claim.” Along with anti-aging and acne treatment plans, Nicole provides custom blend makeup that is all-natural and safe for acneprone skin. “I offer foundation that is custom blended to perfectly match your skin tone, and the

LIVING THE WELLNESS LIFE WITH DR.S MARK & MICHELE
The Debilitating Effects of the Stressful American Lifestyle Has your life sped out of control? Has your health began to deteriorate? If so, keep reading, as we have a three prong approach to regain control and bolster your health. Recently while traveling down the streets of Tulsa, Oklahoma, my wife and I found ourselves amazed by the number of speeding cars pass us. We were even more alarmed by the fact that we were actually driving about 5 miles an hour over the posted speed limit. Yes, we were indeed technically breaking the law. However, it truly did astonish us that many people seemed to act in such a way as to indicate that we were going far too slow. Here's the problem, life in itself has become too fast. The excessive speed has now become the norm. Chaos seems to reign. This speed has not only permeated our driving but also our life in general, whether work, relationships, or other. It is important for us to realize that the increased speed of the world is indeed taking a massive toll upon our lives, relationships, and our health. We have seemingly forgotten how to rest, how to listen, how to play, how to laugh, and how to have fun. Our health in turn has suffered. The trends in today's world are shocking. The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) predicts that by the year 2030, over 60100% of the population in our country will be overweight and/or obese. Now that is shocking! So what can we do about it? Here are three practices to ensure quietness in your soul and life, and consequently, produce vitality in your health. 1. Take a quiet break daily. Set five minutes aside to simply be quiet. Put away the cell phone, turn off the TV, put the
animals in the other room, and ask your family to give you a few moments of silence. During this time, reflect on where you are, what you're thinking, what do you dream, and what makes you happy. 2. Take a 10 minute walk daily. This will ensure, at least a start, of a healthy exercise pattern. Exercise, as we all know, is necessary for proper structural, metabolic, digestive, and cardiovascular function. Additionally, research has shown that exercise is a superior anti-depressant to the oft-prescribed Prozac. After all, there is no such thing as a Prozac deficiency.
You are not destined to become a victim of chronic disease! This is one of the guiding principles of the Functional Medical Institute (FMI), where your answer to health and wellness begins. 3. Make a point to say thank you to someone daily. This forces acknowledgment of something good that someone has done for you or to you. It basically gets attention away from any selfimposed misery and puts attention on someone else's good will. It only takes a minute to say THANK YOU. Though these three practices seem simple, they are very profound in their positive effect. It is mine and Dr. Michele's desire to promote healing in your life. This healing occurs daily, many times minute by minute. As you will note, the sum total of minutes spent on the above-mentioned life practices is no more than 16 minutes. We submit your health is certainly worth these very few minutes of daily attention.
