CUSTOMER TESTIMONIES “We were absolutely amazed by this company and their work. The owner gave an estimate along with a timeline for the project to be completed from start to finish and it was completed on time. The crew was on time, courteous, professional, fast, efficient, and cleaned up each day. We very seldom ever give a review of a business, but this one exceeded our expectations. We are very happy with our experience and would recommend LCI to anyone.” - MIKE & DANA “The process from start to finish was one of the best experiences I have had with a contractor. The team arrived on time to start the job and worked from early morning until dark to complete the driveway in one day. I would recommend LCI to anyone needing a new driveway.” “The crew solved a long-standing drainage problem we had and we love our new driveway and carport! Thank you!” Kalan Paul, Owner

FOSTERING HOPE BY WHITLEY MUMM

or Kelly Evans, fostering children wasn’t just a choice – it was a calling. “When I imagined my life, I always saw a house full of kids and chaos. After having two children of my own, I realized we still had plenty of room and plenty of love to give,” Evans said. Evans and her husband learned about Choices for Life, gave them a call, and the rest is history. After six months of meetings and classes, the Evans became foster parents. Since then, the couple has fostered 19 children, and adopted four. “Choices for Life was an amazing resource throughout our process,” Evans said. “They’ve always been there to help us along way. They truly partner with you on the journey.

It’s not an easy process, but they make it much easier than it could be.” For the Evans family, that process started 16 years ago. They sat down as a family, and discussed what it would look like to bring a new child into the family. Immediately,

Evans believes being a foster parent is her calling. “I’ve been a caregiver all my life. It’s what God put me on this earth for,” she said, “I’m a caregiver for a reason – this is what I need to do. There’s a huge need for foster parents, and I feel so fortunate to

to be patient, and work to understand what the child is going through. There will always be issues and difficult moments, but with the right support system, like Choices for Life, anyone can make a difference in a child’s life. “You have to be willing to put something in it… to put all of yourself in it,” she said. “It can be discouraging at times, but then, there comes a moment. A moment where you see that the child knows you love them… that you care about them. There is nothing more rewarding.” If you’re interested in exploring the possibility of becoming a foster parent, contact Choices for Life. CHOICES FOR LIFE FOSTER CARE 724 S. FAMILY MATTERS BY ERICA LUDWIG

I

t’s no secret that life never stops moving. There’s no way to stop your kids, or your family from growing, all you can do is put in the work and hope for the best. Wade Reeves of Wade’s RV, knows this very well. After serving Northeast Oklahoma and the Tulsa area for over 30 years, the business owner and father of five is making room for even more growth thanks to a new sales lot located at 161st and highway 75 in Glenpool. “This second location has opened up more possibilities for us,” said Wade. “We are able to better serve our clients and get our jobs done quicker.” Customers can expect two different environments of sales and service at each of the Wade’s RV locations. Whether you’re an outdoorsman looking for some service on your camper, or parents getting ready for the family road trip of a lifetime, the team at Wade’s wants to provide you with a facility to

accommodate your needs. “It’s like the best of both worlds,” said Wade. “We listened to our customers on what they needed from us, and that has greatly impacted the growth of the stores. This new sales store has more parking availability and space for clients to view more products in a more relaxed environment.” Thanks to the expansion, Wade’s RV has been able to create more space for indoor storage at the new location with all enclosed, custom services. The business also does RV repair, consignment and parts. “It’s more than just storage, it’s a service,” said Wade. “You can bring your unit in and we can take care of the rest, or if you want us to just park it for you, we can do that. We like to think of it like a custom-made concierge for your RV.” The added space also allows for more inventory with selection. Wade’s RV offers a variety of pre-

In fact, three of his five children work with him. Daughter Amanda Bryant serves in accounting, while his youngest, Maggie Reeves, works as an office assistant after school, and Wade R. Reeves, or “Little Wade”, is under the mentorship of his father, doing everything from selling RVs to social media management. “My favorite thing about this job is helping people,” said Little Wade. “I love engaging people with our mission. I just love to see how the things we do as a company and a family bring smiles to customers.” This summer, Wade’s RV is partnering with Channel 2 on a family road trips segment, where Little Wade will be shooting on location at resorts such as Shangri La. Look for them in an RV with the Wade’s RV and Channel 2 logos every other weekend in June. You can also find Wade’s RV at the Great Outdoor Recreation Show May 20-21 at the Tulsa Expo Center. uskogee’s newest festival, G Fest , returns in its second year to Hatbox Field on June 15-17, 2017, for three nights of music, camping and entertainment. The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame (OMHOF) will host a celebratory concert and induction ceremony at Hatbox Field on June 14, 2017—preceding the music festival. The induction ceremony and concert will feature performances by many of the honored artists. The induction will be at the Hangar at Hatbox Field beginning at 7:00 p.m. The induction is a separate, ticketed event, however, all G Fest 3-day ticket holders and volunteers are invited to the after party. Building on the success of its inaugural year in 2016, G Fest Muskogee is bringing even more music, camping and entertainment. Bands take the main stage at 3:30 p.m. with headliners going on at 10:00 p.m. each of the three evenings. Other stages throughout the venue begin as early as 1:00 p.m. “We’re excited to 20 |

Other notable names include Muskogee natives and “The Voice” alums, The Swon Brothers, along with Caroline Glaser, another musician of “The Voice.” Other artists announced include: The Shakerz with Jamie Oldaker, Mike Hosty, Jambalaya Jass Band, Kinderhook, Steven Salewon, Don & Steve White, and the Red Dirt Rangers. Saturday’s festivities continue with a late-night EDM party featuring popular DJ, Candyland. “We think music fans of all ages will be happy to see we’re bringing an

I provide my customers with my cell phone number so that they can contact me after hours whenever they need our help.” Tosh’s customer focus is what led Tulsa New Holland’s Travis McCrate to hire Tosh to manage the dealership’s Service Department. “The Service Manager plays a key role here at Tulsa New Holland,” Travis says. “Our customers really want a Service Manager they can depend on, someone they know will be available to help them whenever they need help. Tosh’s background and the fact that he worked for the same company for 10 years helped us reach our

decision to hire Tosh as Service Manager.” Tulsa New Holland has a history of providing the very best customer support available, the Company’s 18 President’s Awards are proof of that and that commitment to customer service is a perfect fit for Tosh. He loves the fact that Tulsa New Holland is committed to 24 hour availability on most repair parts and the fact that 24 hour emergency service is available on most of the Ag equipment sold by the dealership. “Tulsa New Holland has been Oklahoma’s premier New Holland Dealership since 1983.” says Travis. Travis has worked 14 years for Mike McCrate, his Father who has over 42 years retail experience in the industry, 30 of those years at Tulsa New Holland. “Travis said, Tulsa New Holland’s slogan is, “Your Partner for Life,” and that slogan is our guiding principle.

We have customers who have been doing business with Tulsa New Holland since the store opened in 1983 and we work hard to build and maintain longterm customer relationships.” Tulsa New Holland is proud of the lineup of equipment the dealership sells; New Holland Agriculture equipment, New Holland Construction equipment, Mahindra tractors and equipment, the full lineup of Cub Cadet equipment, Bush Hog and Woods equipment. MAKING RENOVATIONS BY BRYON TURCOTTE

T

EASY

he showroom at USA Granite and Cabinetry is a welcoming environment of warm lighting, quality kitchen design examples, elegant collaborations of cabinetry and granite countertops, and a wide range of hardware samples that would make any homeowner crave a new renovation adventure. Karen Rossi serves as the Kitchen Design Specialist for USA Granite and Cabinetry and proves to be an important contributor to their inviting, creative spirit. The large facility that contains USA Granite and Cabinetry, Inc. is not only impressive on the outside, but

is equally as inviting when you open it’s front door. Travelling either east or west down 61st street between Aspen and Garnett will expose even the most uninterested driver to a collection of businesses that have developed in

Broken Arrow over a very short period of time. USA Granite and Cabinetry truly stands alone visually on this industrial landscape, but proves to be a much larger provider than it’s physical building can contain. Rossi is not a stranger

to the world of home design having worked in the industry for over twenty years. “I’ve been a kitchen designer forever,” she said. She started working in the flooring business, which was followed by a fiveyear career with California Closets. “Whenever I was selling closets, it seemed like the customer was always referring to what the kitchen designer had said. I thought to myself that the person they are speaking of must be very important,” Rossi explained. “That is when I first decided to become a kitchen designer.” Rossi loves her work and is proud of USA Granite and Cabinetry’s level of quality

and service. USA Granite and Cabinetry offers full kitchen remodeling packages, which sets them apart from other providers of granite countertops, kitchen design and cabinetry. Their team conducts approximately 100 kitchen-remodeling projects per year, which confirms that they are not only successful but also highly productive. USA Granite and Cabinetry will work on a project that involves the entire kitchen or one that covers the whole house. No job is too small or too large for their countertop customers. “We are different because we offer our customers more than just granite countertops,” says Rossi. “Our offering of full kitchen packages set us apart from other companies in our marketplace.” The unique offering that USA Granite and Cabinetry makes available to their customers leaves a lasting impression on those 26 |

with whom they collaborate. “Other companies want you to pick out the exact cabinet, they want the layout exactly right, every rollout tray, and every backsplash,” Rossi explained. “Every single detail in place before they will give you a price. The company will most likely give you a price that is much higher than you wanted to spend. You’ve spent all that time but you’ve fallen in love with what you’ve picked.” Rossi makes it clear that USA Granite and Cabinetry follows a different set of rules to serve their customers. “Our customers don’t have to pick. They can contact us and make an appointment at their convenience. I will come to their house, make the needed measurements, and tell them in 10 minutes how much it will cost.” At this point, if the customer is in agreement, Rossi prepares 3-D drawings, and provides a written quote for

the exact price. Homeowners and builders appreciate the commitment they make to ensure their contribution has a successful finish. “People really like what we do because buying a new kitchen is very intimidating. Basically, there is one reason why our customers and clients really like us,” Rossi said. “We give them the price before they do the work. Nobody sells kitchens like us.” USA Granite and Cabinetry understands how exhausting and heartbreaking the process of renovation can be on the consumer and they designed their process to be customer sensitive, efficient and time conscience. “Simply, when all is said and done,” Rossi confirmed, “we offer really beautiful things at very good prices.” USA GRANITE AND CABINETRY, INC. 13105 E 61ST ST, SUITE D | BROKEN ARROW, OK (918) 307-8900 WWW.USAGRANITEANDCABINETRY.COM

BOOTS AND BBQ

BY SEANA WARREN

I

f you live in the South, chances are you’re serious about your barbeque. The Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) means business, too. In fact, they sanction barbeque competitions all over the United States, including Claremore’s Boots and BBQ Festival. Prizes total up to $7500 and points towards KCBS Championship status. The Claremore Reveille Rotary Club, Visit Claremore, RCB Bank, Walke Brothers Meats, Jack Kissee Ford, Tulsa Stockyards, Utility Cable Communications, BancFirst, Stillwater Milling, Johnny LeonardCentury 21, and Community Home Health are all sponsoring the sanctioned KCBS cook-off in the twelfth annual Boots

and BBQ Festival. The event will take place June 3 at the Claremore Expo Center from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. KCBS certified judges will be on hand to adjudicate the 40+ barbeque cooks looking for the winning recipes in appearance, taste and tenderness. People’s Choice taster kits will be available for purchase starting at 1:00 p.m., with tasting to start at 2:00 p.m. Adult taster kits are $10 and children 12 and under are $6. You can stroll along and test each cook’s recipes. After sampling, you can vote for People’s Choice in which the winner will receive a cash prize of $200. There’s even something for local barbeque cooks,

Left to right: Club Members Richard Mosier, Ron Burrows, Roger Fleming, Rick Elliott, Clarice Doyle, Roger Evens, Jacob Krumweide, Steve Gragert, Jeanne Heidlage and Ron McVicar. the Backyard BBQ Competition. Anyone not registered in the KCBS is welcome to participate for first place bragging rights. Other than registration and the taster kits, the event is free and open to the public. Area vendors will be on hand, along with music and a kid’s area for hours of fun. But the real winners are the kids of Rogers County. All proceeds from the Boots and BBQ Festival go directly into every school in the county. “It’s our mission to help local schools enhance young student education”, said Tanya Andrews, director of Visit Claremore/Claremore Expo Center, and Reveille Rotary Club member. “We use every penny of the proceeds to offer four to five scholarships to area

seniors, each year. We purchase 10,000 pencils that are distributed to all schools in Rogers County. This year we received a matching grant from Rotary International and together gave $6,000 to the Rogers County Salvation Army for their Food 4 Kids Backpack program”. Additionally, Reveille Rotary gives every third grader in Rogers County a personalized dictionary. Cooks can register for the KCBS Competition or the Backyard BBQ Competition up to June 2 on check-in day. Registrations forms for cooks and vendors are available online or by telephone request. inding the right company to service your home can be about as tedious as watching paint dry. From prepping the surface to choosing a color, many factors go into choosing the right painting service. For a company that’s not only qualified, but also trustworthy and professional, look no further than Sooner Painting. After serving residential and commerical customers throughout Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Bixby, Jenks, Sand Springs, Owasso and Claremore for the past 11 years, Owner and U.S. Army Captain Michael Bolton introduces Sooner Painting, offering residential exterior and interior painting services. Michael says that homeowners can expect quality service for all their interior and exterior painting needs. The process starts with a call to Sooner Painting. Then, a professional will come out and provide you with a free estimate. The experts take care of the rest; the only thing you’ll have to think about is what color you want! 38 || 38

“We want to treat our customers with the utmost professionalism,” said Michael. “When our customers are happy, we’re happy. You’ll love us so much that you will refer us to your family and friends.” Every exterior home paint job begins with power washing, followed by silicone caulking. Once you’ve chosen a color, the professionals paint with Sherman Williams brand paint to top it all off. One of the hallmarks of Sooner Painting is guaranteed quick results. “We try to be as efficient as possible,” said Michael. “We keep our customers happy by offering great service at a great price with great results. Just give us a chance to prove it,” he says. Sooner Painting is fully licensed and insured, and all their recommended work is guaranteed. Add some color to your life. All you have to do is sign up and show up and you’ve contributed to helping these kids.” The tournament serves as a fundraiser for the organization’s cyber team. “Catching just one online predator can save between 20-40 kids,” said Jason. “That’s why we do this. That’s why we want people to participate in this fight in any way that they can. We just want people to be in the know of these issues.” The event will include special contest

But what about those days in between? As temperatures begin to rise, it’s no question that parents want their kids safe as ever in the summertime. But spending all summer inside playing video games or watching TV all day does not keep children healthy or entertained in the long run. So, we’ve put together a little guide to help keep your kids cool on a budget. These locations and specials were proven accurate at time of print. Please call or go online for a complete list before venturing out.
