A summer camp experience that keeps kids on target. By Christopher Davis Every summer, parents face the same dilemma: What to do with the kids over summer break? It’s enough challenge moderating time spent on video games and preparing healthy snacks. Finding a summer camp that gets kids outdoors and instills values – that’s enough stress to overwhelm any parent. Camp Courage in Owasso has the answer to parents’ prayers and registration is now open. “We provide a way to discover something new,” says Jennifer Hayes, Camp Courage Director. She and her husband, Ronnie, started the nonprofit

Christian camp seven years ago. With three sons of their own, Ronnie and Jennifer have been mentoring kids for over two decades. Spend a few minutes with them, and it becomes obvious they have big hearts and seemingly endless patience. Their passion and faith leads Camp Courage through a summer filled with fun and character building activities for children ages 5 to 13. “Something unique and powerful happens when kids turn off the TV, pluck out the earphones, set down the game controller to spend some time (continued on page 24)
