3. Then, it’s to the drawing board. We will devise and customize a blueprint that melds expert and relevant curriculum with innovative learning practices. In this collaborative and iterative process, we will consult you for feedback, modifying and perfecting the content, design and delivery until they meet your needs and approval.

5. We believe in the effectiveness of long-term relationships. As a result, our work for you extends beyond the classroom. We conduct a thorough evaluation process, surveying participants and internal sponsors to understand how well the program served your objectives. At your request, we will schedule periodic refreshers to discuss and reinforce concepts. And our faculty remains available to members of your management team and program participants.
Cisco: Strengthening skills to sell into the health care space

2. Next, we will establish a Client Team for your firm who will work on the development and delivery of your program. Your Client Team will dig for details to understand all facets of your developmental needs, challenges and desired outcomes.
When Nissan’s North American headquarters relocated from Los Angeles to Franklin, Tennessee, in 2006, Nissan executives immediately began exploring ways in which they could work with Vanderbilt. Nissan invited us to partner with them in developing a world-class leadership development program that would support their strategic plans for staffing and development of high-potential employees in North America and around the globe.

With health care revenue growth projected to outpace overall technology sales, Cisco wished to expand its presence and enhance its reputation in this complex vertical market. With the goal of dramatically boosting each salesperson’s understanding of key drivers and influences within the health care industry, our faculty customized a two-day program that tuned each member into the needs of health care technology decision makers. Vanderbilt and Cisco continue to refine and repeat this program, most recently adapting the classroom-based program for e-learning and virtual delivery.
Louisiana Pacific: Building a brand in the Latin American market With strong success in the Chilean market, Louisiana Pacific began considering further ways to expand its presence in South America. With sights set on Brazil, LP was aware that growth in the region depended upon a deeper understanding of the country’s cultural nuances to successfully navigate the commercial markets. Vanderbilt Custom Programs worked with their executive team in Brazil to develop a new strategic model best suited for entry into the Brazilian building materials market.

His work in the area of business strategy, innovation process and product development has included engagements with NASA, LEGO and Bristol-Meyers Squibb. He has also performed product design consulting work for a variety of firms including Daimler Benz, Apple Computer and Coleman Camping. Most recently, while on leave from Vanderbilt University, Owens served as CEO of Griffin Technology Inc., the largest consumer electronics firm in the MP3/iPod accessory market space.
