Valuation services is a growing line in international professional services firms that affects business decision making on all fronts— everything from strategy and acquisitions to asset management, restructurings and divestitures. Associates within the valuation service line are first and foremost well-rounded business analysts who provide advice and opinions regarding the worth of both tangible and intangible assets and liabilities, as well as valuations for management planning, financial reporting, enterprise restructuring and tactical business decisions. Clients look to a valuation professionals to help them manage capital agendas, knowing decisions made and actions taken today will impact growth and profitability tomorrow.

As an associate in valuation services, you will be challenged to determine the value of both assets and obligations for your firm’s clients and use that knowledge to shape critical business decisions.

Valuation professionals provide expert advice and counsel for both external clients and the three high-level service lines within a professional services firm: Audit, Tax and Advisory. To serve all clients well, valuation professionals must demonstrate strong client-facing skills on top of their mastery of finance and accounting knowledge and skills.

The rigorous curriculum balances technical competence in finance and accounting with client-facing skills. In twelve months, you will gain confidence in your abilities as a professional. You will enjoy a great deal of “face time” with associates and leadership from our five partner firms as you move through a high-touch interviewing and placement process. Only the Vanderbilt MAcc Valuation program offers students the ability to prepare for both the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam Levels 1 and 2 using the premier Becker CPA and Stalla CFA review courses. In addition, the innovative Training the Street program will give you hands-on financial modeling experience to give you a head-start on your internship.

Earn while you learn with a paid internship.

During the 12-month program, you have unparalleled access to our partner firms—Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Grant Thornton, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers. These organizations offer ten-week internship opportunities in which you can earn $10,000 or more. More importantly, since most firms consider the internship an extended interview for post-graduate employment, a successful internship will likely lead to a full-time position.
