VKFW SS25 RUNWAY REVIEW

This season, VKFW brought bold creativity and innovation to the runway. Vibrant colors, striking silhouettes, and impeccable craftsmanship defined the tone of Spring/Summer 2025, offering a bold vision for the future of fashion.

Opening Performance by Indigo Education

Founded in 2011, Indigo Education offers programs in tutoring, creative writing, and public speaking. They help kids from 2 years old to high school succeed in school, get into private schools, and prepare for university. Today’s emcees were trained through their Emcee Training Program, which builds confidence and teamwork for speaking in front of crowds. Indigo believes that every student can grow into a confident leader and communicator with the right support. Scan the QR code to learn more.

The designer of Étoile des Neige graduated from a fashion college and worked in apparel and accessories before discovering a passion for children's clothing after the birth of her daughter.

Childhood is full of special moments, and every day is an adventure. Since children grow quickly, she carefully selects colors and materials that are practical for daily life, suitable for both boys and

girls, and even shared between siblings. This way, outfits made for special occasions can continue to be worn as part of everyday wardrobes.

Many of her designs feature collars—one of her favorite elements. She also enjoys creating clothes that adapt as children grow, adjusting silhouettes and materials to suit their changing needs.

The name "cunm" comes from combining "Kana," the designer’s daughter’s name, with "Mama." She began making clothes when her children were young, putting the same love and care into every piece she creates.

Clothing has a special kind of power—it can lift your mood and boost your confidence. Wearing your favorite outfit can make each step feel lighter and more joyful, like a little bit of magic. Through the Kids Designer Project, where children's drawings are turned into real clothes, she has met many happy, smiling kids. She always imagines them running through a grassy field, laughing and having fun, bringing her designs to life.

Little Princess Gown (LPG) designs high-quality flower girl, prom, and party dresses. To make each dress special, LPG offers customizable styles, colors, and fabrics for a perfect fit. Every detail is carefully crafted for beauty and elegance. LPG also creates costumes for ballet, theater, and children's choir performances.

Committed to quality, LPG strives to build trust in online shopping.

Every little girl is a princess—and we’re here to make her look the part!

Last season, VKFW was proud to collaborate with Vancouver Beauty Dance World, whose talented dancers lit up the stage with captivating performances in Chinese Dance, Jazz, and K-pop. Their dynamic routines perfectly complemented our fashion showcase, blending cultural artistry with modern energy.

More than just performers, this local dance academy nurtures talent through diverse styles like graceful Ballet and passionate Latin Dance. Their commitment to excellence and community makes them a perfect partner for VKFW. We look forward to more unforgettable collaborations that celebrate movement, culture, and creativity.

Founded in 2022 by Asuka Kato, Nauraa Hauska means "laughing and enjoying" in Finnish. The brand was inspired by Asuka’s desire to make dressing fun for her daughter, who struggled with changing clothes.

She believes choosing outfits should be an enjoyable experience. Wearing something a little different can lift spirits and bring more smiles. Her goal is to help parents cherish time with their children by offering well-tailored garments with sophisticated designs.

As a mother of two, Asuka designs clothes that are easy to put on and take off, making them a favorite among parents. The simple styles also allow siblings of different ages or genders to wear matching outfits—something not often seen before.

With adult sizes available, the whole family can coordinate matching outfits together.

Founded by a seasoned costume stylist, haNgER is a children's costume rental brand that brings imagination to life with its philosophy of “Tickling the Playful Spirit.” Each design is inspired by whimsical stories that embrace the mischievous heart of childhood.

For VFW Fashion Week, haNgER presents “Ee Ja Nai Ka,” a collection inspired by the refined tradition of Japanese Noh theater. Featuring origami-style pleats, delicate fan motifs, and a fusion of Japanese aesthetics with Western silhouettes, the collection reimagines formal traditions with a playful twist.

The theme draws from a real Edoperiod phenomenon, where people celebrated sacred omens with joyful parades, dressing in costumes and chanting “Ee ja nai ka” as a sign of hope and renewal. In the haNgER world, this historical moment is reborn, envisioning a modern Japan revived by the laughter and energy of children.

More than just costumes, haNgER creates portals to imaginary worlds, blending history, fantasy, and playful creativity into wearable magic.

The designer creates costumes inspired by the traditional attire of ethnic groups encountered by a pair of wandering twins on their journey. Through each piece, ka-ca explores cultural storytelling, blending fantasy with heritage in a unique and imaginative way.

[About the Collection] "SAND LAND" depicts a desert country from a distant fantasy world. Inspired by the traditional clothing of its inhabitants, who find meaning in intricate sand patterns, this collection brings their imagined culture to life. Pleats and tulle are used to capture the essence of movement and texture, reflecting the beauty of the desert landscape.
