Paul Caplin | paul@vapouround.co.uk EditorIn the UK the provisions of the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) are set out in The Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016.
The Regulations set out where the law stands regarding the manufacture and sale of tobacco products including e-liquids and e-cigarettes.
They also show the penalties which can be imposed on individuals or businesses who are convicted of an offence under the new laws which come into effect from May 20.
According to Section 46 of the Regulations, those convicted of an offence contrary to The Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 can be jailed and/or fined.
If prosecuted in a Magistrates’ Court in England and Wales, the offence will carry a jail sentence of up to three months and/or a fine. Those convicted by a Crown Court can be jailed for up to two years and/or fined. No information has been given on to the amounts people can be fined.
Business owners, business partners, and company executives, such as directors, company secretaries or company managers may all be held accountable under the Regulations.
In any proceedings for an offence under the Regulations, it is a defence that the supplier exercised all due diligence to avoid committing the offence.
However it won’t be enough for the defendant to say that they relied on information provided to them by a third party unless they can show that it was reasonable to have relied on that information.
generally in the UK you can vape in public as, unlike for smoking, there is no specific law to say that you cannot.
So if you are in a public space such as walking down the street then you can vape away to your heart’s content. However it is less straightforward when you are in a private building to which the public have access.
In this case there is no law which automatically forbids you from vaping. So you could go to a pub, a cinema or shopping mall and smoke e-cigarettes without breaking any laws.
That’s the good news but the bad news is that this does not mean that you will actually be allowed to do so.
The owners or managers of property to which the public have access have the legal right to say what can and what cannot be done on their property (as long as they do not break existing laws in the process.)
So a shopping mall in one town may allow vaping but a similar mall in the next town may not.
Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, a big fan of e-cigarettes, found this out for himself recently when he was allowed to vape at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles but not at the Oscars in Los Angeles.
DiCaprio won his first Oscar for Best Actor for his role in The Revenant but the no-vaping rules even apply to Oscar winners. (However he was seen vaping when he hit the town after the ceremony was over.)
This confusion about where you can vape has led social commentators to ask whether or not it is socially acceptable to vape indoors, regardless or not of whether it is banned by law.
A recent article on Vogue’s website said it was a new etiquette question which has been highlighted by DiCaprio’s fondness for vaping in public places. It said: “The proper protocol regarding
has been up for debate ever since the rise of e-cigarette use.
“Before New York included e-cigarettes in its no-smoking ban (which prohibits use in bars, restaurants, offices, parks, and on beaches), rules on vaping varied from establishment to establishment. But does the public e-cigarette ban extend to private functions?
Sarah Silverman showed off her liquid pot pen during the Emmy’s red-carpet procession in 2014; and, back when she was still dating Michelle Rodriguez, Cara Delevingne puffed out tiny vapor rings while watching a Knicks game.”
The article argued that vaping was far less offensive than traditional smoking because the smell from exhaled vapour is generally quite pleasant and because it leaves no acrid smells on your clothing or hair.
However Vogue’s Social Editor Chloe Malle criticised vapers for being ‘smug’ saying: “There’s a certain smugness to vaping. “I feel like people think, ‘I’m allowed to do this, don’t try to stop me’.” The article discussed whether vaping in public could be distracting to others or make non-vapers feel uncomfortable - both reasons why people may not choose to do it in public.
Certainly many vapers do not like being sent to smoking areas if they want to vape in public and it is easy to see why. Given that many vapers have given up vaping, it does seem ironic at the very least to encourage them to share a space with smokers when they want to vape.
“In the past few years, vaping has been making the rounds at many glamorous circuits: Katy Perry was seen sharing a vape pen with Orlando Bloom at this year’s Golden Globes after-party;
For now, at least, it seems that there will remain confusion about whether in many public spaces vaping is permitted or not. Then, even where it is permitted, there is the dilemma of whether or not you should vape in public places.
“The proper protocol regarding electronic smoking has been up for debate ever since the rise of e-cigarette use.”

There is little wonder that there is a certain amount of confusion about e-cigarettes amongst the non-vaping community.
Last year it was announced that e-cigarettes were to be banned from hospital grounds in Scotland as part of their ‘smoke free’ policy.
It seems that the message that ‘vaping’ and ‘smoking’ are actually different terms had not yet filtered through.
Some Scottish health boards used the ‘smoke free’ reason for wanting to ban vaping while others quoted concerns over safety.
There was, as one might expect, a lot of anger from vapers at the news of the ban. Many interested parties pointed out that vaping had helped many people quit smoking and that this must surely be a good thing.
The good news is that the relevant health authorities saw sense and decided that maybe a blanket ban on vaping was not such a good idea after all.
The report from Public Health England which said vaping was 95% safer than smoking traditional cigarettes may certainly also have played a large part in
the decision to overturn the ban. Also according to research done by the NHS in Greater Glasgow and Clyde 18% of people in the area who had already given up smoking had done so with the aid of electronic cigarettes.
Given that research it would be illogical to ban people from vaping when it was vaping that actually helped them quit smoking in the first place.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s director of public health Dr Emilia Crighton has said that “e-cigarettes do have their place in the fight against tobacco and are being used effectively to help people stop smoking altogether”.
In the NHS GGC area at least, clear signage will be used to indicate areas where people are allowed to vape.
In addition Health Scotland has also recommended the use of electronic cigarettes for those who want to give up smoking.
The main NHS website even has a page titled “Using e-cigarettes to stop smoking” where it tells people that vaping may help them give up traditional cigarettes.
The page says: “ Over recent years,
e-cigarettes have become a very popular stop smoking aid in the UK. Evidence is still developing on how effective they are, but many people have found them helpful for quitting.
“An electronic cigarette is a device that allows you to inhale nicotine without most of the harmful effects of smoking.
“E-cigarettes do not produce tar and carbon monoxide – two of the main toxins in conventional cigarette smoke. The vapour from e-cigarettes has been found to contain some potentially harmful chemicals also found in cigarette smoke, but at much lower levels.”
It goes on: “on current evidence, e-cigarettes carry a fraction of the risk of cigarettes and they can help you stop smoking.
“If you want to use an e-cigarette to help you quit, you’ll give yourself the best chance if you get expert support from your local NHS stop smoking service.” So while there is still confusion in the population at large about vaping, more and more people are slowly becoming aware of its massive potential to help people quit smoking.
The TPD contains a list of many definitions related to the manufacture, sale and supply of cigarettes, tobacco and tobacco-related products.
Here are some of those definitions which are relevant to vapers.
Tobacco products - Products that can be consumed and consist, even partly, of tobacco, whether genetically modified or not.
Smokeless tobacco product - A tobacco product not involving a combustion process, including chewing tobacco, nasal tobacco and tobacco for oral use.
Electronic cigarette - A product that can be used for consumption of nicotine-containing vapour via a mouth piece, or any component of that product, including a cartridge, a tank and the device without cartridge or tank.
Electronic cigarettes can be disposable or refillable by means of a refill container and a tank, or rechargeable with single use cartridges.
Refill container - A receptacle that contains a nicotinecontaining liquid, which can be used to refill an electronic cigarette.
Nicotine - nicotinic alkaloids.
Emissions - Substances that are released when a tobacco or related product is consumed as intended, such as substances found in smoke, or substances released during the process of using smokeless tobacco products.

Flavouring - An additive that imparts smell and/or taste.
Characterising flavour - A clearly noticeable smell or taste other than one of tobacco, resulting from an additive or a combination of additives, including, but not limited to, fruit, spice, herbs, alcohol, candy, menthol or vanilla, which is noticeable before or during the consumption of the tobacco product.
Addictiveness - The pharmacological potential of a substance to cause addiction, a state which affects an individual's ability to control his or her behaviour, typically by instilling a reward or a relief from withdrawal symptoms, or both.
Toxicity - The degree to which a substance can cause harmful effects in the human organism, including effects occurring over time, usually through repeated or continuous consumption or exposure.
Outside packaging - Any packaging in which tobacco or related products are placed on the market and which includes a unit packet or an aggregation of unit packets; transparent wrappers are not regarded as outside packaging.
Unit packet - The smallest individual packaging of a tobacco or related product that is placed on the market.

Retail outlet - Any outlet where tobacco products are placed on the market including by a natural person.
Go to page 26 to read about Grandfather Rights And The TPD
What not everyone may know is that it is a piece of European legislation which has to be given effect by new national laws in member states.
In the UK the TPD will be incorporated into law by way of what is called a Statutory Instrument (SI), in this case a Statutory Instrument called The Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016.
Manufacturers and retailers of tobacco products including e-cigarettes will have to comply with a whole new set of rules and regulations from May 20 this year.
However there is a ‘grandfather clause’ built into the TPD which means that a number of products which do not comply with the TPD will can still be legally sold for up to one year.
The main aim of this seems be not to penalise manufacturers and sellers who may find that they have perfectly legal stock for sale on May 19 only to find that the same products are illegal for sale the very next day.
So the grandfather clause allows that existing non-compliant stock to be sold as though the new rules were not in force. The relevant provision is Article 30 of the TPD which deals with transitional provisions regarding the new legislation and states. Member States may allow the following products, which are not in compliance with this Directive, to be placed on the market until 20 May 2017:
tobacco products manufactured or released for free circulation and labelled in accordance with Directive 2001/37/EC before 20 May 2016;
• (b) electronic cigarettes or refill containers manufactured or released for free circulation before 20 November 2016;
• (c) herbal products for smoking manufactured or released for free circulation before 20 May 2016.
When it comes to vaping the important section is section (b) which deals with electronic cigarettes and refill containers.
Elsewhere in the TPD these two terms are defined as follows:
• ‘electronic cigarette’ - a product that can be used for consumption of nicotine-containing vapour via a mouth piece, or any component of that product, including a cartridge, a tank and the device without cartridge or tank.
Electronic cigarettes can be disposable or refillable by means of a refill container and a tank, or rechargeable with single use cartridges.
• ‘Refill container’ - a receptacle that contains a nicotinecontaining liquid, which can be used to refill an electronic cigarette.
So it can be seen that the exemption applies to both to the sale of e-liquids and also to any component which makes up an e-cigarette.
It applies to products which had been manufactured prior to November 20 this year but anything made from that date onwards must comply with the terms of the TPD.
This means that is is totally possible for businesses to legally sell products which both comply with the TPD and which fail to comply with the TPD during this transition year.
Interestingly Article 30 starts with the words: “Member States may allow…” which implies that individual states may also choose not to allow such transitional provisions.
According to an infographic compiled by ECigIntelligence those Member States for which the grandfather clause will definitely apply include Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and the UK.
Finally the UK’s Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 actually follows the TPD to the letter, allowing for noncomplient vaping products produced before 20th November 2016 to be legally sold up until the absolute deadline of November 20, 2017.
Most people who are interested in vaping will know that the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) comes into effect from May 20 this year.
EL Science are specialists in the legislative and technical aspects required to meet the Tobacco Products Directive. We are able to assist with all aspects of TPD implementation from initial discussion and providing clarity to the requirements, through to providing a full technical dossier.
The primary difference between EL Science services and those of others offering TPD services is that we are specialist eLiquid scientists with our own eLiquid
Analytical Laboratories and Flavour Laboratories on site. We not only analyse the eLiquid but we provide the toxicological thresholds to work to and more importantly, we work with you to achieve those thresholds, should your initial flavour not meet them. We enable you to meet the thresholds whilst maintaining your flavour profile through our Flavour Laboratory.

These past few years have seen a huge increase in the popularity of vaping as an alternative to smoking. But we still see a lot of debate as to the safety of e-cigarettes, especially in comparison to regular combustible cigarettes. They haven’t been around long enough for us to use epidemiological data, which looks at health impacts retrospectively. But what we do know is that cigarette smoking causes a number of diseases. We understand some of the mechanisms underlying the development of some of these diseases and we have ways of observing and measuring it. This means that we can use some of these same methods to look at the biological impact of e-cigarettes and compare it to that of cigarettes.
There are several kinds of tests that look at different stages of the disease process – from cellular stress to DNA damage and ultimately the emergence of diseased cells. We have used these tests to compare the impact of a commercially available e-cigarette, Vype ePen, to that of a reference cigarette and found that the vapour produced by these
e-cigarettes does not cause cell stress responses, DNA damage or promote the growth of tumours in the cell-based tests that we used.
E-cigarette vapour can contain nicotine, humectants, flavourings and thermal degradation products, so it is important to understand the potential impact on biological systems. The tests described here are just a few in a series of tests being developed for use with electronic cigarettes and other products in development.
Every product is different, so these results apply only to the product tested and the biological impact of other products can only be determined by doing similar tests on them. The use of these tests to assess the biological impact of e-cigarettes was reported in March at the annual general meeting of the Society of Toxicology in New Orleans.
Three types of tests were used to compare the biological impact of cigarettes and e-cigarettes: cell stress tests; a test to assess DNA damage, which can set the scene for cancer; and
a transformation assay, which measures the transformation or conversion of normal cells into a cancerous cell type.
Stress can take many forms, a racing heart, sweaty palms, high temperature. We all feel stress sometimes and stress
Vype ePen, a commercially available e-cigarette did not induce cell stress, DNA damage or in malignant transformation in cell culture tests.

can seep into our cells. Infections or high temperatures can cause cells to become stressed and interfere with their normal function. Environmental factors like exposure to toxicants from cigarette smoke can have a similar effect. Cells respond to stress in a number of different ways. They can produce compounds themselves or recruit compounds from the immune system to protect the structure of the cell. When stressful conditions become overwhelming, and all else fails, a cell can commit suicide via a pathway called apoptosis. This pathway sidesteps the cell dying from stressful conditions, which could damage or kill nearby healthy cells.
It is therefore possible to determine the levels of cellular stress by using labbased assays or tests that measure the levels of protective compounds produced and or the level of cell apoptosis/death. The assays were tested using smoke from a conventional 3R4F reference cigarette and vapour from Vype ePen, a commercially available e-cigarette. When cells were exposed to the cigarette smoke, all cell stress responses were activated. These same cell stress responses were not activated on exposure to Vype vapour.
Stressed cells can become damaged. DNA can become damaged and this damage can lead to genetic instability, which in turn can enhance the rate of cancer development. DNA double-strand
Damaged cells often go on to become cancerous. The cells are transformed from normal cells to abnormal cells that clump together and grow uncontrollably, eventually becoming tumour-like. This process can be mimicked in the lab by using cells that are already damaged and testing the tumourpromoting activities of different compounds.
breaks (DSB) are the most serious type of DNA damage - breakage of both strands of the DNA double helix structure.
Research has made it increasingly clear that DNA-damage and deficiencies in signalling and repair pathways are likely central to the development of most, if not all, human cancers. DSBs are therefore likely precursors to cancer and potentially lethal to the cell. The cell attempts to repair the DNA damage by modifying the histone or protein around which the DNA is wrapped. The changes observed in this histone can be used as an indicator of the level of DSB. When this test was used to compare the impact of cigarette smoke (3R4F) and e-cigarette vapour (Vype ePen) on DSB, the results showed that cigarette
smoke induced significant DNA damage in human lung cells. This was dose dependent, that is, the higher the dose, the more damage was induced. E-cigarette vapour did not induce DSB, even when the dose used was 15 times higher than the equivalent smoke exposure.
Damaged cells often go on to become cancerous. The cells are transformed from normal cells to abnormal cells that clump together and grow uncontrollably, eventually becoming tumour-like. This process can be mimicked in the lab by using cells that are already damaged and testing the tumour-promoting activities of different compounds.
In this case, the cell culture system was
used to test the ability of conventional 3R4F reference cigarette and Vype ePen to promote tumour formation in a specialised cell type called Bhas 42. After exposure to reference cigarettes, the layers of cells were seen to become transformed, clumping together to create colonies, suggesting that the smoke is a tumour promoter. By contrast, the e-cigarette produced no activity. In each test, the e-cigarette produced the same results as an untreated control –there was no activity.
E-cigarettes are a potentially revolutionary product in tobacco harm reduction. Many in the public health community believe that they represent an historical opportunity to save millions of lives and drastically reduce the public health burden of smoking-related diseases. Public Health England, an
executive body of the UK Department of Health, recently published a report saying that e-cigarettes are 95% safer than cigarettes. Other groups that recognise the reduced risk potential of e-cigarettes include ASH (Action on Smoking and Health); Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation. E-cigarettes produce a vapour and as there is no burning of tobacco, the user is not exposed to the toxicants produced by burning dried tobacco leaf. Chemical analyses shows that there are some compounds released into the vapour of e-cigarettes which are toxic at high levels, but these are found at negligible levels in e-cigarette vapour compared to that in smoke. We have rigorously tested our products and have found that the level that tobacco-specific nitrosamines, are present in e-cigarette vapour is comparable with the level found in pharmaceutical nicotine
products. Formaldehyde exposures were at levels well below that considered safe by the WHO – indoor air quality guidelines. These chemical profiles are very reassuring, but we need to continually develop new tests to assess the biological impact of e-cigarette vapour compared to that of smoke. We can use these tests to better define and further reduce any residual risks that there may be to as low a level as possible.
Several companies are actively involved in e-cigarettes and next generation products. The key to demonstrating the reduced-risk potential of these products will be agreeing on testing approaches. We think this means that there is now a great opportunity for the industry, regulators and academia to come together and agree on standards and testing protocols.

“It was a pleasure to speak at the first VapeExpo in Poland earlier this year and share my thoughts with the industry on the upcoming TPD regulations. The range of people I spoke to afterward certainly outlined to me the challenges companies are facing with the directive. That said, there has been a definite change of tone in the industry. Up until the turn of the year people would come up and want a debate on the directive. At recent events, companies have approached and said “We know it’s coming, let’s get on with it. Bearing in mind this approach, I’ll do the same:
Notification Do’s and Don’tsQ1: Nick, is there an approved list of testing labs we can go to for the emissions testing?
A lot of companies are getting hung up on this. There appears to be confusion with the list that exists for tobacco products rather than e-liquids. To this date there is no approved lab test list to choose from. I think it would be difficult to put together such a list of companies as there is not even an approved way of doing the tests. Regulators will look at putting together a standard approach to emissions testing in future years. Once they come up with this new way they will ask e-liquid companies to repeat all the testing they have previously done. Unsurprisingly this has caused a fair amount of resentment and will be a big future cost. At present you still have to do the tests. Either in-house based on the latest guidance or seek external support from a contract laboratory who can provide you with reassurance of relevant expertise and experience. Not the most helpful but that’s the way it currently is.
Q2. Nick, what is this ‘Adverse Events’ system that needs to be in place by 20th May 2016?
Yes it is a requirement for producers to have a process (a system) in place on the 20th May so they can report any potential safety issues related to their products to the relevant health authorities such as the MHRA. It does not have to be an all singing all dancing validated system. It can be controlled as part of a quality management system and through SOPs. If it’s not something you know much about you should ensure you seek appropriate expertise.”
Until next time, Nick

Four years ago the founders of Vaping American Made Products met for the first time, in a coffee shop in Santa Ana, CA to discuss their mutual desire to create a vaping device that would be of the utmost quality. To them the products available on the market were poorly designed, cheaply made and lacking true passion. The collective minds of a veteran vaper and a mechanical engineer bore the beginnings of what was to become an industry bench-mark. The resulting products are now known as The Rig Mod and The Roughneck Atomizer, currently both in their second generation. Exceptional design, high-grade materials and unparalleled manufacturing are what are known as… American Made.

Ex-smoker Archie found vaping salvation five years ago - and promptly became an evangelist. He put his skills as an award-winning advertising creative into re-branding one of the UK’s leading e-liquids manufacturers, Decadent Vapours. Within six months, he was running DV, and working with ECITA to advance the cause of the industry. Archie was instrumental in the recent agreement of vape companies to work together to meet the TPD’s criteria - a breakthrough and relief for all involved. His wife calls herself a vaping widow: whenever the couple go out, the moustached and debonaire enthusiast is invariably off extolling the wonders of vaping to all and sundry.

Proceeds of sales from Nora’s Dream are donated to Nora on a monthly basis, with the e-liquid selling over 20,000 bottles a week. The awardwinning e-liquid is hailed as being the second most creative flavour of the year on 2014’s GuideToVaping website and continues to win legions of fans worldwide.
Archie Powell Rhonda BurchIn an industry filled with stories of meteoric success and unforgettable characters, Samuel Boucher a.k.a. Sammy Fog stands out. Armed with uncompromising vision, relentless ambition and a good measure of cockiness, he’s taken his e-juice company Premium Labs from start-up to industry powerhouse in just a short 16-months.
If you vape in Canada, you’ve likely heard of Sammy Fog or at the least you rock one of the e-juice brands produced under his Premium Labs label. Based in Vancouver British Columbia, Premium Labs is one of the largest e-juice manufacturers in Canada, with mass distribution in the U.S. and now available in the UK and Ireland.
Sammy Fog is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, covered in secret sauce. Fortunately, in between shoots for our video series covering vaping regulations, I had an opportunity to sit down with the master-mixer to see if we could pry loose any secrets.
You have several really popular lines which ones are coming to the UK?
Six of our juice lines will be available by the end of April. Decoded, I can’t Believe It’s Not Donuts, Blind Pig, Dr. Fog’s Famous Ice Cream and the World’s Best Custards are already on the shelves.
Uhm, donuts!
(laugh) I stick to what I know. If I like a donut or custard vape then that’s what I’ll make. You know, I don't mind a fruity vape every now and then that’s why I have them in my line up. But I don’t make anything I don't like.
So you do or don’t make tobacco flavours?
I don’t. I won’t even consider it. I don't have a tobacco line
because I hate tobacco. Look, I can appreciate a good quality product. I might even vape it and say that’s a quality juice. But I won’t put my name on something I’m not 100 percent behind.
What got you started making e-juice?
There was no work on the rigs after the price of oil got hit. So there I was unemployed and scratching by and trying to quit smoking. To be honest, I was a dedicated smoker and not going to give it up ever. It came down to the cost of cigarettes and then just the crappy way they made me feel. I decided I’m going to give vaping a shot. It kind of worked, but there was a lack of quality products available in Canada.
So you started making your own e-juice?
Yes, once I learned how to make juice I quit smoking. I couldn’t quit off the other stuff, but I could off the stuff I was making. That’s when I came up with the idea of making e-juice to help people quit smoking. That was my vision and still my main focus. From there it just took off.
You were a one-man operation just a year-and-a-half ago, how many employees now…forty…how many bottles of e-juice do you produce in a month…600,000.
Wow that’s a lot. Yeah (laugh) and growing…all your production is in Vancouver? Yes, but we’re also opening up a manufacturing plant in Europe this summer. It’s an important market for us. They deserve to have the best.
That’s brash.
Yup, probably is. We want to be people’s endgame in their search for the perfect e-juice.
What’s the secret to making that happen?
Being ‘on-point’ in everything we do. It’s the internal standard we set and apply to everything. It’s specific to how each flavour tastes, the quality of the ingredients, the packaging and even to how we approach regulation.
In Canada, like in Europe regulations are coming down the pike. So we invested nearly one million dollars over the past 6-months in our manufacturing facility to install an ISO 7 clean room and rated bottling equipment. It exceeds government standards. For us that’s on-point.
There’s fear the TPD could mean the end of a lot of products people love…
I would never let anything get in the way of me keeping my products on the market. No matter what I have to do or spend. This industry isn’t going anywhere.
So no limitations? Whatever it takes for me to be the best and to stay on top I’m going to do that…do you push the limits... that’s one thing that really confuses me in this industry is that people put limits on things…what kind of limits…on the quality and complexity of flavours. They say no one can make a good coffee or chocolate vape, or make a five-dimensional flavour that works. So I push and get it done.
What’s the name of that new chocolate flavour? We haven’t
released it yet…when can we expect it…It will be coming out in our new Dominate line next month…Is that something UK vapers can look forward to…definitely, both the chocolate and coffee flavours are in the Dominate line.
To prove a point? (laugh) Yeah… but not always to others. I am really hard on myself when I make a new line. It has to be better than the last or I might as well hang up my gloves and call it quits. If I don’t keep improving, then I don’t deserve to keep making e-juice.

Thanks to a lingering winter, temperatures have remained chilly for some time. It seems that the cold weather is bringing out sweet toothed vapers in their droves,
because this edition’s Top Ten has three creamy flavours, including two custard vapes. We’re not psychic and don’t have a crystal ball to consult, but we foresee there will be
more summery flavours popping up in the list as we approach summer. Here are our Top Ten Flavours compiled from an online survey. You’re welcome.
Rhubarb Dripple by Juice E- Fruit (www.bhvape.com)

Traditionally English, gorgeous to vape and particularly sweet on the inhale, which is when you get the hit of sweet succulent strawberries.
6Clotted Custard by Yogg (www.vapeiteasy.net @VapeItEasy_GL2)
This is traditional vanilla custard with a twist. Expect luxurious creamy undertones and a thick clotted custard taste for a delicious dessert finish. Not just for those with a sweet tooth, but those craving a hit of nostalgia, reminiscent of scrummy food just like mum used to make.
Eclipse by Space Jam (www.spacejamjuice.com / @SpaceJamEJuice)

Roman Nectar by Cyril’s Juices (www.cyrilsjuices.co.uk @cyrilsjuices)

Haven’t you always wanted your own line of e-liquid?
It’s the dream of every vape shop, but it can seem like an overwhelming challenge.
Nuclear Vapours is a Bristol based store selling a diverse selection of e-liquids and vaping hardware. They tried the e-liquid sample on the cover of issue three of Vapouround Magazine and loved it. After reading the feature on Nora’s Dream, they fell in love with Nora and touched by her poignant story, felt compelled to help.
Emma Gamlin, co-owner of Nuclear Vapours said: “We spotted the tester on the cover of Vapouround and decided to try it out. It’s a tasty, moreish vape and we immediately wanted more! We then read the article on Diamond Vapor and just looking at the photos made us want to do something for little Nora.
Nuclear Vapours is a company that strives to give back to the community, and when we read more about Nora’s condition, we just
knew we had to do something to help this gorgeous little girl.”
As reported in issues two and three of Vapouround, Nora was diagnosed with two forms of cystic fibrosis shortly after she was born. Diamond Vapor originally created the award-winning e-liquid and donated proceeds into a fund to care for Nora, who is the daughter of a family friend.
Nuclear Vapours is an innovative company that cares about its clients and the vaping community. After placing an order to trial in their wonderful vape and coffee lounge, they were blown away by feedback from customers.
Emma said: “We listen very keenly to customer opinion. If there is something our customers like, or dislike, we take it on board. Feedback is like gold dust and to stay ahead in this ever evolving industry, we have to act on information that helps the overall vaping experience of our beloved customers. Nora’s Dream was very well received and the customers loved it as much as we did. It tastes of a creamy cereal flavour, what’s not to like?”
Inspired by the articles, Nuclear Vapours reached out to Diamond Vapor to enquire if they could stock Nora’s Dream. They were then informed by Keith Fairman, owner of Diamond Vapor that Vapouround Magazine are distributors of Nora’s Dream. Nuclear Vapours have also been featured in a previous issue of Vapouround Magazine, so they were familiar with Vapouround and its team.
Nuclear Vapours is a vape store with a big heart. It now stocks Nora’s Dream and donates retail profits directly into Nora’s care fund. Emma added: “We love how tight knit the vape community is. We love to give our full support and get behind worthy causes. It’s great for us here at Nuclear Vapours to be able to give something back to such a great cause.”
In a pre-TPD world where it seems there is more negative news in the press than good, inspirational stories like these make Vapouround proud to be serving this great industry. We will continue to champion vaping and spread the good news – after all, you never know who will be reading the story, and what impact it will make. To
aping is one of the fastest evolving industries that continues to thrive year on year, regardless of political pressure to wind down. Within this hotbed of innovation, inspiration and talent are cool social gatherings and exciting expos that capture public attention. One hotly anticipated event on the radar of passionate vapers is the Miss Vapor USA competition. Vapouround Magazine caught up with Cam Winans, a leading light in the vaping community and stunning host of the Miss Vapor USA. Here is what she had to say about the competition, vaping and how winning Miss Vapor USA can change your life.
Vapouround Magazine: Vapouround is proud to announce a media partnership with Miss Vapor USA. Why do you see Vapouround as a good fit with Buckshot Vapors?
Cam Winans: I try and partner with companies that I see doing the right things. When I'm at events both stateside and overseas, I see the Vapouround crew and I like that they take the time to surround themselves with the culture of the community they ultimately provide media for. I also like that some of the well respected contributors to past issues have let me know they receive an abundance of feedback from your readers once the magazine is published. It's a great way to know Vapouround has an active and engaged audience.
VM: How did the idea for Miss Vapor USA come about and what inspired you to hold the contest?
CW: To be honest I have been running model searches for years. I was the Social Media Director for Sullen Clothing and the Director of Models for the Sullen Angels during which I started the Sullen Angel Model Search about 5 years ago as part of their Marketing plan. We built
an incredibly beautiful, loyal and capable group of brand ambassadors through the Search. This led to partnerships with some incredible companies including Rockstar Energy Drink (featured during the Inked Up Tour) and the Uproar Music Festival (Sullen Angels Miss Uproar) and many others.
When I started working in the vaping Industry and doing marketing in the Wild West, from the beginning I knew I wanted to incorporate a proven formula into an incredible platform – I just didn't know when. I worked for about a year within the industry and ran the Instagram account featuring new faces in the "Vape Modelling" Community. It grew a following and it's always resonated well with both males and females in the community which is something that I feel is important. I knew it was time to start the search when I saw Vape Modelling take a turn. However and I was watching girls get practically nude just for a shoutout of them vaping on pages, pay their own way just to work conventions and meme after meme pop up about how
"Vape Models" did nothing for the vape community. The last statement was an immediate problem that had to change... Vape models are an entire sub-culture of vaping much like "Cloud Chasers" or "Builders"... Shutting women... Voting women mind you, out of this community is not something I would stand by.
I wanted to highlight the fact that these searches could go mainstream. My previous experience doing searches in the specialised world of "Tattoo Modelling" and taking those to new heights was something that could be done in the vaping industry as well. We want our brand ambassadors to be beautiful representations of our community. This means knowledgeable, responsible and passionate female vapers who want to represent the vaping community the right way, because vaping in some way touched or changed their lives. I wanted girls in this industry to realise there's not necessarily a future in short lived T&A but there is one in becoming someone that others look up to, relate to and wish to emulate.
VM: Talk us through the competition process. What can an entrant expect when they put their name forward for the pageant?
CW: The process is pretty straight forward. First we do casting calls that are specific to the area we are hosting a search near. We do them at many major and well respected shows stateside and internationally. We ask girls to submit photos and information as the first step. We do pre-select the contestants to show up at the actual show ahead of time. I take the time to review them along with a panel from the companies involved. We look at their overall beauty – this is a model search, not a “girls who vape” search. I know there are a lot of people who like to debate on this, but the bottom line is that if we don't think the girl is capable of representing any of the companies in a print or digital campaign, we don't put her past the submission portion. We also look at her social media, whether or not it seems that vaping is an actual part of her life, and whether she
would be a suitable brand ambassador for the companies sponsoring the search.
The second round is online. We generally take overall feedback and social media presence into consideration at the end – because let's be real, anyone with a following could beat out a more deserving winner with one post if we completely relied on social media. We do post and promote that each contestant will be at the show with us and to gauge online feedback, ask for interaction from our followers. It's a great way to promote the ladies in a positive light and get the community to rally around them and show support, not just make them an object for show.
The next step is the actual convention. We tailor the search to the needs of the convention so sometimes the Miss Vapor hopefuls will come multiple days and sometimes they will only come on one. The competition has more of a culture and consumer based following, so we like to keep it on public days. We watch and judge the ladies interact with
consumers, their poise throughout the show and ability to engage with others.
Of course, there is also the Stage show which we usually have a few time slots for, to get to know the ladies better and introduce them to the audience at the show. We also take this time to see how they perform in a live audience situation. As a brand ambassador you can end up travelling all over representing your brand and it's important to be prepared for every photo opportunity, every chance to convert someone into a fan or customer and of course be a part of the community that people want to watch!
The decision comes from all of those factors and it's always hard. What most people don't realise is I end up spending quite a bit of time with these amazing ladies and not being able to choose more than one and sometimes all of them is tough. They all have inspiring stories of why they are a part of the community from a family member to their own personal journeys and I am so grateful I get to be a part of that. There can only be one Queen of course but walking away with incredible relationships is a very valued residual win for all the ladies and to be honest, myself.
VM: What are the exciting prizes up for grabs? What does a three month juice sponsorship mean?
CW: I have seen a lot of companies expect girls to do tons of work for shoutouts, or juice etc., but I wanted the Miss Vapor Search to be different. Every lady who is accepted to the Live Show receives an authentic mod and atomizer from our equipment sponsor. We are currently working with Council of Vapor who have been kind enough to provide each lovely lady with a Mini-Volt and Tank. For Miss Vape Jam UK they even made a Special Edition. We also provide each girl with a full line of Timebomb Vapors and of course no beauty contest
“When I started working in the vaping Industry and doing marketing in the Wild West, from the beginning I knew I wanted to incorporate a proven formula into an incredible platform.”
would be complete without sashes! That's just for entering!
The overall Winner receives a monetary prize which varies by location from our sponsor Timebomb Vapors. It's no secret that I am their PR Director but they have supported Miss Vapor from the beginning even when I did not work directly for them, which is so powerful for the girls aspiring to become Miss Vapor. Having a large company say I believe in this process and the girls involved enough to write a cheque without knowing the recipient first, is a pretty amazing commitment. She will also get a 3 month Juice Sponsorship from Buckshot Vapors Inc. which means they commit to supplying the winner with enough juice from their four lines Timebomb, Buckshot, Clutch and Roybot Sauce (so she won't have to go spending her own money). Most sponsorships
extend as long as the relationship is mutually beneficial for both sponsor and sponsee. She also becomes an Official Vape Model for the pulse brand Vape Models on IG and she is promoted for work within the industry. Ultimately if the Winner uses the platform she is given, she can go very far with the exposure she has access to.
VM: Beauty pageants can be empowering; what do you think of beauty pageants and have you entered any yourself? (If you have entered some, how did you find the process and how will Miss Vapor USA be different?)
CW: I completely agree that beauty pageants can be a source of empowerment. I think that any pageant that strives to create a program where women can grow and become a part of something that benefits their life and those who are watching is something that should be celebrated.
As for the second part of the question... what beauty pageant didn't I enter?
When I decided to give modelling a go, I knew that at 5'4" and 23 years old I wasn't exactly shooting for a Giselle Bundchen type of career. I think it's really important to know why you want to be involved in modelling, or what your end goal is so to speak. For myself I knew I wanted to work in marketing, and I knew to be a leader and not an assistant to someone, I needed to stand out. So I built the "Cam Brand," if you will, first. I made myself a social asset to whatever company I wanted to become a part of by having a fan base. I'm by no means "instafamous" comparatively to some of the more recognisable faces out there but I have a solid and still growing platform that I can rely on, to back up my stacked resume in the marketing
field. I couldn't have done that without modelling.
I entered beauty pageants because they were a way to get jobs and get published when you were unknown. Seven years ago when I did my first photo shoot, Instagram didn't exist. It was Facebook, Model Mayhem and who won the latest search for the newest brand. A lot of those "opportunities" turned out to be excuses for promoters to pack clubs and host something close to amateur night booty shaking contests which I absolutely was not a fan of. I hated being treated like that when I knew I was intelligent and doing the search to build my brand, not find a date. There were also a lot of empty promises in
“ I think it’s really important to know why you want to be involved in modelling, or what your end goal is so to speak.”
the form of prize packages; most of the companies hosting them only remained companies for about three months.
Miss Vapor is different simply because I set a higher standard. We work with reputable sponsors and I'm not a club promoter. I'm a woman who wants to build the other women in the vape modelling community, hopefully so we can shine some much needed light on the fact that women who vape can be beautiful, intelligent and impactful! Yes, our industry is under constant scrutiny, but the fact remains that vape models aren't going anywhere. As a community, I think it's important that we promote the positive side of vape modelling instead of feeding into the naysayers who make beautiful women feel like they have no place in this growing community and industry.
VM: What does it mean to be a Buckshot Bombshell?
CW: Buckshot Bombshells are the Official Ladies of Buckshot Vapors Inc. We are still growing the brand but once you become an Official Buckshot Bombshell you are eligible to work as a Brand Ambassador for any of our 4 lines including digital and print marketing campaigns and tradeshows. The Buckshot Bombshells are the best of the female Badasses in this Industry. We can't wait to show you all more throughout the year!

SStephen C. Parish, Jr. was someone you would want to know. He was an individual who had many gifts and talents, impeccable integrity and character. He was a gifted artist and singer, who expressed himself with every performance and in each picture he drew. Steve loved to draw what is now known as “Steve’s Duck” – an eclectic pencil drawing of a duck that best depicts Steve’s originality.
Steve believed in giving back, volunteering and in doing the unthinkable. He would put everyone first and was someone who made you a better person for having him in your life. His dreams to make a change in this world tragically came to an end on March 22 2009.
The heart wrenching loss suffered by his parents Rhonda and Randy Burch was shared by all who knew Steve. At a poignant memorial service held by Pace University, thousands of stickers of Steve’s Duck were passed out to the attendees, and in true New York City style, the memory of Steve was beginning to be carried on. New York, the originator of the modern graffiti, also known as “tagging” would become the start of tagging the world with Steve’s memory. All were encouraged to tag Steve’s Duck across New York City (in classrooms, on bridges, favourite
restaurants and airports), spreading his memory everywhere they went.
Not long after the memorial service, the idea of tagging Steve with his duck took off. Steve’s family and friends began tagging the world. As they travelled, stickers were placed by those whose lives he touched wherever they would go. Steve’s Duck has been to the mountains in California, to sunny Florida, Colorado and back to his college dorm from his freshman year. It has travelled the world and is tagged in Mexico, Paris and Brazil.
The reason behind the phenomenal success of tagging Steve’s Duck is due to the fact that Steve was such a beloved character whose aim was to make a difference. Who was Steve who inspired a world movement?
Steve was someone who could do it all. In high school, he was a camp counsellor at Camp MiBroBe where he helped students develop skills to survive on their own and without the supervision of their parents. He was in every theatre production, a member of Key Club, participated in Mock Trial and was honoured with the Philanthropic Youth award by Case Western Reserve. From teaching autistic children at Teach for America to devoting his life to help poverty stricken youngsters, Steve was making a massive impact on spreading positive messages during his travels
across the world. Touching lives every step he took, Steve could see the good in everyone.
Inspired by the determination Steve exhibited in his life, Rhonda and Randy vowed to carry his memory on and bring joy to the lives of others. They created a charity in his honour. Family and friends assisted in bringing the Stephen C. Parish, Jr. Memorial Foundation to life. The charity would become the beginning of Rhonda and Randy’s drive to continue Steve’s charitable assistance to those in need. Proceeds collected from events such as the Stephen C. Parish, Jr. Memorial Golf Outing would be given to scholarship winners pursuing their education who embody traits comparable to Steve.
Rhonda and Randy much like Steve, wouldn’t stop there. They wanted to do something more. In March 2015, they began the e-liquid company Captain Obvious E-juice. Captain Obvious, like Steve’s ambition to save the world, would provide the highest quality in flavour and ingredients to its customers. Steve’s Duck would become the face of Captain Obvious. As stores throughout the United States began to carry the collection of premium e-juice, the memory of Steve began to spread in a unique manner via the shelves of vape shops throughout the vaping community. Rhonda and Randy encouraged those who vape Captain Obvious E-juice to show where they were tagging Steve via their photos on social media platforms using hashtag #CaptainObviousEjuiceAdventures. Now, Rhonda and Randy are both enjoying seeing the creativity of the consumers and the ways in which they are sharing Steve’s memory.
When you break down each element of Captain Obvious E-juice, it completely embodies Steve. Names of juices including “The Beach Bum One”, “The Breakfast One”, and “The Key Lime One”, are sarcastic and funny, much like Steve’s charismatic personality. Everything from the flavour descriptions, logo mimicking a superhero and the ever popular capes... each part of Captain Obvious E-juice is sharing Steve in a unique manner. So while at first glance it may be a duck – it’s a duck that is here to leave an impact and save the world. And it’s here to stay. To find out more about the Stephen C. Parish, Jr. Memorial Foundation and Captain Obvious E-juice, go to website www. captainobviousejuice.com now. You can also request a sticker via the website, which will be sent out to you so that you can continue tagging the duck around the world and raise awareness for this worthwhile cause.

Many readers could view the title of this article and think to themselves, sarcastically “Oh, I’d like to hear this explanation.” Perhaps many are thinking, “Finally, someone is revealing the importance of the Sociological aspects to Vaping.” Or, they could think “What could sociology possibly have to do with vaping?” Well, in any case, I’ve always thought I should be the Sociologist to shed some light on the significance of using the tool of Sociology to dissect the controversial sociallyconstructed issue of vaping. That is what seems as most important to remember, that vaping is now presently something that has become a serious social issue. It was never considered to be an actual social issue causing such an uproar. In the beginning, it seemed as if electronic cigarettes (vaping products) were considered as a type of smoking cessation attempt that was simultaneously considered to be ineffective or not a viable option for smokers, thus it was not a threat to our existing social structure of institutions and business. However, nowadays, vaping is extremely effective as a harm reduction approach and numerous individuals and organizations are placing much emphasis on attempting to destroy this breakthrough in improving the state of public health. Why would so many try to put forth so much effort to literally destroy something which could improve
By Tony Ottomanelli IIthe state of public health, saving billions of lives along the way? Unfortunately, this question seems ridiculous to have to ask and it is malso a discussion for another time as there are multiple correlating factors and underlying

Sociology and Vaping can be considered as martial arts, they are serving as tools of protection; harm reduction in tobacco abuse protects us from smoking, essentially, vaping clearly protect us. Sociology could easily be interpreted as a harm reduction technique as well, since it protects us from ignorance, false consciousness and anything else known to be immoral.
your minds and open up doors you may have never known were closed. Then again, these attempts could very well be unsuccessful, yet opening locked doors of my consciousness and increasing my overall understanding of social awareness is exactly what Sociology did for me. So, I urge you to follow along and give it a chance.
One of the few legendary Sociologists, Pierre Bourdieu referred to Sociology as a martial art; a form of selfdefense. As Vapers, we know how effective vaping truly is as a harm reduction method. Since Vaping reduces the harm we are causing ourselves, it is reasonable to suggest how vaping defends us from smoking. Therefore, both Sociology and Vaping can be considered as martial arts, they are serving as tools of protection; harm reduction in tobacco abuse protects us from smoking, essentially, vaping clearly protect us. Sociology could easily be interpreted as a harm reduction technique as well, since it protects us from ignorance, false consciousness and anything else known to be immoral.
Ultimately, Sociology is harm reduction and since Vaping can also be considered a martial art, these two entities go hand in hand. So, it is Sociology and Vaping that are becoming one in the same, not smoking and vaping; the mass differences among smoking and vaping continue to grow. The similarities between Sociology and Vaping thus continue to become vast and universal. It’s safe to say these two have a very healthy relationship, which is difficult to
come by these days.
Nevertheless, let us further examine what Sociology technically is,by definition. The academic discipline known as Sociology can be and has been defined in a number of separate incidents, yet all in a similar fashion. The American Sociological Association has defined Sociology as the study of group life. Also, Sociology has been as defined as the study of social interaction and societal issues. Pierre Bourdieu, a Sociologist with a celebrity-type status among his native country of France, defined Sociology as the scientific study of social phenomena in human beings. Many textbooks like to simplify, using as few words as possible, simply stating that Sociology is the study of human behavior.
In light of this, due to the simplified and broad spectrum of information being used to define Sociology by organizations as well as textbooks, I myself, prefer to eradicate simplicity due to the widerange of issues in which Sociology can cover. Sociology is ubiquitous; Sociology is connected to everything and anything. Therefore, when defining Sociology, it is certainly beneficial to be very slightly vague since Sociology is so broad in scope, but in its very essence, Sociology is infinite, that is why, without a doubt, Sociology is synonymous with the term ubiquitous.
While these textbook definitions are certainly accurate, it seems slightly devaluing to the academic discipline of Sociology by not including some very key elements. In which, personally, I prefer to refer to Sociology as “an intellectual academic discipline which systematically theorizes and scientifically interprets data regarding socially interactive human behavior, a vast array of societal issues and how these larger issues affects individual personal lives, as well as the process of a comparative analysis between current social findings with previous social research.” Therefore, Sociology can be a powerful tool for assisting others in determining their opinion or belief of whether vaping is as beneficial as vapers claim it to be or if it is as dangerous and harmful as antivaping affiliates assume.
Altogether, there are three main theoretical perspectives to Sociology, these include the Conflict Perspective, Symbolic Interactionism, and Structural Functionalism. In other words, imagine you were at the top of the Empire State Building, but in actuality it isn’t that exact building, yet it is still a tall skyscraper where you could look down on the world around you by simply looking below you. Imagine there are three separate telescopes you could view society from all at the very top of this highrise building. One of these telescopes is
based on viewing the world through the Structural Functionalist Perspective, another telescope is the lens you could use to view society from a Symbolic Interactionist Perspective, the last telescope allows you the opportunity to view the world below you through the Conflict Perspective. All in all, there are three main visionary windows for viewing and interpreting the society in which you occupy in an imaginative and innovative fashion, hence assisting the development of your overall opinion about how you see the world.
Given the development of the simple act of vaping slowly, but surely transforming into such a threatening social issue, we must analyze the theoretical perspectives of Sociology. In one of the textbooks I used to implement in the courses I taught in college, Sociology in Modules , the author writes, “Think of society as a living organism in which each part of the organism contributes to its survival. This explanation sums up the Structural Functionalist Perspective, which emphasizes the way in which the parts of a society are structured to maintain its stability” (Schaefer 2011:15).
One of the primary contributors to this theory was Talcott Parsons, a Sociologist from Harvard, who basically saw society as a vast network of connected parts,
each of which helps maintain the system as a whole. This is extremely relevant to consider when reflecting on the Sociology of Vaping and for countless reasons. Parsons’ Functionalist approach was that if an aspect of social life does not contribute to a society’s stability or survival if it does not serve some identifiably useful function or promote value consensus among members of society it will not and should not be passed on from one generation to the next (Schaefer 2011:15).
Vaping has the potential to marginally disrupt economic stability, then again, what if vaping plays a much larger role than we anticipate? What if vaping could greatly affect the economic status of capitalist culture to the extent that it could possibly launch mass amounts
of our own people into impoverished conditions, increasing the poverty level tenfold? Could it? Well, for starters, vaping could indefinitely replace a vast amount of smoking cessation pharmaceuticals and it has the potential to replace traditional tobacco cigarettes altogether. These products belong to two of the most powerful industries in the world: Big Tobacco and Big Pharma. If these two industrial powerhouses, each with nearly infinitely existing revenue streams which control a number of vital portions of society, literally were forced to drastically decrease their financial earnings, there could be some sort of an economic meltdown among the westernized world, causing a mass destabilization of our capitalist economic structure. It wouldn’t merely consist of

What if vaping could greatly affect the economic status of capitalist culture to the extent that it could possibly launch mass amounts of our own people into impoverished conditions, increasing the poverty level tenfold? Could it?
Sociology is ubiquitous. It can be anywhere, all the time; basically, it is indeed everywhere, any time. As noted earlier, renowned Sociologist Pierre Bourdieu referred to Sociology as a “Martial Art” due to it’s power to provide “self-defense” just as vaping has grown to be a defense mechanism against smoking tobacco. Not to mention, numerous contemporary Sociologists believe this academic discipline is more of a “handson” duty or service to your communal surroundings primarily through social activism, civil engagement, & public service.
a few billionaires noticing their pockets feeling lighter, it would more so include millions of people out of the job and out on the streets with mouths to feed also defining their struggle. Sure, currently more people struggle in poverty than there should be, but what it were worse? This could be why we don’t see how much vaping is helping people all across the globe on the nightly news every single day, like one might imagine we would see if it were supposedly so beneficial. Yet the fact that it is not being recognized for its harm reduction benefits nor is it reported on a daily basis of how much healthier it is than traditional smoking, certainly begs your imagination to wonder. If vaping became widely accepted and the general public began demanding that it be recognized, perhaps there might be an imbalance of power and a massive decline of our strongest economic assets? Then again, perhaps this is simply an overblown exaggeration of what could occur, that’s why it is categorized as “theoretical” you can certainly allow your imagination to run wild or set you free, building a more realistic understanding of how the world works or makingup improbable scenarios that could never occur.
These same potential circumstances tie directly into what Sociological theorists refer to as the Conflict Perspective, another predominantly confrontational area to our theoretical framework. It is extremely important to remember that this is an extension of Sociological Theory through an interpretation of the Conflict Perspective, I’m by no means claiming th is to be one hundred percent truth. However, I am suggesting that, as citizens of the free world, we have a responsibility to continually question such concepts, whether false or true. The Conflict Perspective is the view that our social world is characterized by
continual struggle between competing groups. “Conflict theorists assume that social behavior is best understood in terms of tension between groups over power or the allocation of resources, including housing, money, access to services and political representation” (Schaefer 2011:16). If you were able to view this issue through the Conflict perspective, you would naturally be able to determine that vaping is being “spun” as something dangerous to individual people and their health. While looking through the telescope, what you really would see, theoretically, is that vaping is far more dangerous for Big Business and our society’s most affluent population. We already received a possible visualization of what could happen to our social structure economically if vaping took over as the most socially acceptable form of smoking harm reduction. Then again, would the approval of vaping cause this much chaos? Probably not. Especially because
it would never just unfold overnight, thrusting our societal unrest into full throttle in a single day is unlikely. Or is it more likely than we care to know?
Now, to further examine the sociology of vaping, we move onto the telescope which allows you a chance to see the world through the Symbolic Interactionist Perspective, from the tippy top of that highrising skyscraper, that is, only if your imagination is still at work. Whereas Functionalist and Conflict Theorists both analyze large scale, society-wide patterns of behavior, theorists who take the Symbolic Interactionist Perspective generalize about everyday forms of social interaction in order to explain society as a whole.
To see vaping through such a unique interpretive sociological viewpoint, we must first recognize how many people that vaping has been able to bring together and how much of a positive effect vaping has had on individuals who are now a part of this social group, ultimately a united vaping community . While looking through the telescope’s lens labeled as the tool with an ability to allow you to view society as a Symbolic Interactionist it would be very easy to realize how amazing vaping is for contributing in positive ways toward the entire process of socialization and how it seeks to help reverse the quickly declining concept of face-to-face social interaction. Vaping brings others together, perhaps some individuals who may otherwise be socially isolated from our current times of declining social interaction. Stephen Hawking once communicated that above all else, “We must never stop talking,” claiming that our identity as human beings would be
lost if we did not verbally communicate. Symbolic Interactionism is a theoretical framework which allows everyone a chance to see how socializing with other vapers and remaining united is so crucial to the survival of our cause to preserve and ensure the evolution of vaping. In conclusion, my feelings are that Sociology is ubiquitous. Other Sociologists feel that we are merely intellectuals who articulately identify the social issues and communicate possible ideas for others to apply towards resolution. Regardless, from this indepth analysis of the Sociology of vaping, I hope you are now able to see the benefit of this academic discipline when reflecting on all the
To shed light on this, I’m reminded of a introspectively charged quote, “the human mind is like a parachute, it must first be open in order to function.” Is this a metaphorical expression easy enough to understand? controversy surrounding the vape community as well as the inner workings of vaping, affecting our societal conditions in unprecedented ways. Therefore, basically, Sociology can be considered an academic discipline which will never fail to point out the problems and give suggestions for improvement while leaving the “dirty work” for others whose occupations offer helpful services. Regardless, I’m sure by now, it’s obvious that I love Sociology for countless reasons, while at the same time, I’m sure it is easy to detect my passionate stance on vaping. I hope this explanation about Sociology, assists in describing exactly why it is absolutely necessary to implement as a major tool in the war being waged against vaping and what it is that these Sociological Theoretical Perspectives can and will do for the future of civilized western society, namely the future of vaping on a global scale.

The “W.S.O.C.C” is the original founding father of the most highly anticipated cloud-chasing event the vapor industry has ever seen. The coveted Gold and Diamond W.S.O.C.C medallion necklace is the forefront in recognition that is given to the champion of each division of the main event.
We’ve been working on the W.S.O.C.C for the last year in the States. With the great popularity of vaping comes a growing competitive offshoot complete with contests, judges, sponsors, and spectators turning out to see who can produce the most impressive clouds. Clouds are judged on density and distance. Competitors go back to back, through heats leading to the finals.
This year the W.S.O.C.C will be kicking off at VapeJam before moving across the UK for our regional heats leading to the grand final in London. It will then run across the UK with 8 venues. VapeJam is the leading vape expo in the UK and we are proud to announce our partnership for this year’s W.S.O.C.C.
All these rules are which make the W.S.O.C.C different from normal cloud competitions.
This is what makes our competition very special. The divisions are broken down into weight. All competitors with the exception of women are weighed in at registration. If the competitor weighs 165 lbs or less, they are in middleweight division. 166lbs -199 lbs is considered light heavyweight, whilst 200 lbs or more is heavyweight. We suggest all competitors empty all pockets, take off all bags, mods or anything heavy before weighing in to get a true weight.
Competitors must build on-site in 30 minutes or less. After build is approved, your mod will be confiscated and put into the W.S.O.C.C Committee Chamber until battle begins. Winning contestant's mods will be put back into the Committee Chamber after every round and given back when battle begins. Bring a secondary mod if you plan on vaping during down time.
Lowest ohms = 0.10. Dual coils only.
Competitors must build with sponsored wire and sponsors cotton. Wick and wire are provided at the event when competitors register.
Mechanical mods only. Single 18650 batteries only. No stacking.
Competitors must follow host / judge directions at all times during battle. Be a good sport. Shake hands before and after every battle. Failure to meet any of the requirements set within these rules will face immediate disqualification. A maximum of 4 batteries can be checked in with your mod.

My name is Becky Reeves and I’m proud to say that I’m a former smoker. I’ve been vaping for around six months and have to say that I love it. Smoking is a hard addiction to quit and having been a 30-cigarette-a-day smoker, I didn’t think I could ever stop smoking.
I have tried quitting on several occasions. If I was to be given £1 for every time I declared that I’d quit smoking, I’d be a billionaire. I initially wanted to quit smoking because it’s a smelly, unhealthy, expensive habit. I had accepted all this and had resigned myself to the fact that I would be a lifelong smoker. This was until I received some shocking health news.
My family has a history of breast and ovarian cancer – my mum has both, which is why both my sister and I took a cancer gene test. My sister wasn’t a carrier – but I was.
You don’t really think about your mortality, but this test was a wake-up call that forced me to address a massive issue that had been preying on mind for months. I was more susceptible to cancer than most and I had to do something about it. I have a loving family and to think that I could be hurting them and myself from smoking was the turning point.
After researching various smoking cessation tools, I looked into vaping. I had seen friends’ vape, but I didn’t really know much about it. I was properly introduced to vaping via work. I’m a sales executive at Vapouround Magazine, which is where I learnt more about it. As with starting anything new, I was a little apprehensive. There is a lot of
horror stories aplenty which the media constantly bombard us with. How the ingredients of e-liquid are carcinogenic, how batteries explode randomly to cause first degree burns, I could go on. I’ll be honest, I was really, really wary about vaping.
I finally took the vaping plunge. Putting my fears aside I started on 24mg nicotine strength e-liquid, which is an average amount to start on, considering my 30 a day habit. It took a few days to get used to and I soon realised within 48 hours of vaping, that I hadn’t touched a cigarette. Result!
My first device was a VIP e-cig pen. It’s good for a new vaper and I loved it, because it was all funky and had a groovy pattern. I’m now on the Sigelei Fuchai and vaping Heartland Vapes Chocolate as we speak, which I absolutely love.
I vape all the time now. When smoking, I was always tired, suffered from a chesty cough in the morning, and reeked of tobacco. Now I’m scented with a
delicious fragrant and fruity aroma and have bucket-loads of energy for my children. Thanks to vaping, I have finally stopped smoking and my life is all the better for it.
Now, I speak about the benefits of vaping whenever I can; which is just as well, because my day job involves spreading the word about vaping. I’m a sales executive at Vapouround and have to say, that work really opened my eyes. Getting product knowledge, chatting to vapers, speaking with companies about their wonderful vaping hardware and juices – I couldn’t be happier.
To those who are contemplating giving up smoking, I’d recommend giving vaping a go. It may not be for you, but you can certainly try it. Smoking is an addiction. It is easier said than done to quit, but with vaping, becoming smokefree can be a reality.
To find out more about my work with Vapouround, feel free to email me on becky@vapouround.co.uk, I’d love to hear from you!
Over the last three years we have spent a substantial amount of time and effort to develop our in-house analytical methods and equipment. Allowing us complete control and transparency on the quality of our products.
With ever increasing uncertainty amongst businesses on how to progress through the TPD, we feel that now is the time to provide our existing and potential customers with a clear understanding of our services and their costs.
TRAs (Toxicology Risk Assessments) are required for every compound found in your product. You are required to hold the complete formulation of your flavoring and their relevant CAS (Chemical Abstracts Service) numbers to complete this step.
Some flavour houses are resisting releasing their formulations as this would allow an identical copy of their intellectual property.
If you find yourself in this situation, we offer a wide range of flavourings that meet TPD criteria, and we already hold the full list of CAS numbers and formulas for these flavour concentrates.
The cost of a TRA per flavour will vary depending on the number of chemicals found within your product. Our per CAS cost starts from as little as £300 + VAT
This will cover all variations of nicotine content you intend to notify. Should you use our flavouring, this section can be skipped (unless concentrations used vary)
This test will allow us to illustrate the amount of nicotine delivered to the body over a period of time.
The MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency) have asked manufacturers to assume a 100% uptake from the product, removing certain variables and the need for clinical trials.
Nicotine uptake can be bracketed to show the higher and lower-end nicotine concentration, as long as the results are similar this will illustrate medium-range contents.
Nicotine uptake analytical work is priced at £900 + VAT per sample.
Emissions testing is required on each SKU (Stock Keeping Unit - so per flavour, per strength) - We use a variety of equipment to analyse the emissions delivered by your product, including ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) and GC-MS to TD-GC-MS-FID (Thermal Desorption-Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer-Flame Ionisation Detector). Pricing starts at: £1500 + VAT per SKU.
We appreciate this information can be slightly overwhelming and we can offer a more tailored set of costs and requirements. We recommend you get in contact with us to properly advise you of what’s required and your next steps based upon your current business model.
Production opportunities are available that will reduce quoted prices significantly.
Please get in contact for a more detailed explanation.
The organisers had tried to make this more of a weekend experience rather than a standalone expo, where consumers and vendors alike were given the opportunity to enjoy a weekend of fun, advocacy, and amazing deals.
One of the greatest things about this expo is that proceeds supported a truly noble cause – The Vape a Vet Project. A charity poker tournament was organised the night before the expo, where many vendors attended to raise some serious cash for The Vape a Vet Project.
It was a great night set in the Moonshine Bar at Rawhide, a tiny cowboy town which had been cleverly recreated to look exactly like a set from a western. The pre-party sponsored by Suicide Bunny was a massive hit and also doubled up as a place where vendors could relax and have fun, do business,
and even raise some money for this worthwhile cause.
Why was this expo so different from the others? This is a quote taken directly from their website, and I feel that it’s important to portray the organisers’ wonderful transparency.
“First and foremost, all proceeds from the convention will benefit The Vape a Vet Project (a 501c3 charity that provides starter kits and care packages to active and former Service Members completely free of charge to them).
There are no strings attached, no hidden fees, and no alternative agendas. It’s as simple as this: every single penny that is received from sponsors and other activities goes directly to The Vape a Vet Project.
In fact, all sponsorship checks and wire transfers are made directly to The Vape a Vet Project.
Additionally, our team of dedicated event
managers generously donate their time and expertise into creating a convention that supports our community. Everything that goes into Vapin’ The Sun is out of passion, dedication, and service to our community.”
This caught our attention straight away. You would think with no hidden agenda, with no financial gain and with no other reason than to put on an event, that this event may lack the glamour, glitz and big production we are used to seeing at so many other events across the world. Boy you would have been wrong if that was your thought process. We arrived on day one and received a very warm welcome.
The organisers personally introduced themselves to us and seemed delighted to have us there. We didn’t have to go through a laborious check-in process; they came to us with our badges, and were more than willing to go out of their
way to accommodate us and make sure we felt at home.
The event was fantastic. There was a diverse crowd of large and small vendors, and the stands represented the companies as always, in a fitting manner.
Exhibitors included Suicide Bunny, Five Pawns, Moonshine, Cyclops and many more, showing that this event could lure the biggest names in the industry.
The business to business part of the expo which was the morning of day one and the morning of day two was not really well attended, but I put this down to two reasons.
Firstly the show fell over the weekend (Saturday is probably vape shops’ biggest day of the week, and Sunday is a big church-going day in Arizona).
The afternoons filled up nicely with many consumers attending the event, and the buzzing atmosphere was fantastic. The venue had a massive field attached, where they had a BBQ area and bar, along with chairs and tables for people to relax in the sun.
They also set up a stage area outside and had some great bands performing in the evening.
This event was well thought out, well executed and a great time was had by all. I can honestly say that this was one of the most enjoyable events that we attended so far and we cannot wait for the next one.
“WE RETURNED TO ARIZONA FOR OUR SECOND VAPE EXPO IN MID FEBRUARY WITH A FEELING OF EXCITEMENT AND HIGH HOPES.”
26th – 27th February 2016
by Paul CaplinAfter the Arizona expo we jumped on a plane and made the 50 minute flight to neighbouring Nevada and headed to Sin City – Las Vegas. It’s always a treat to be in the town that never sleeps – Vegas being the host to this year’s Vapefest Las Vegas.
The two day event was held in The Palms Casino and Resort running over the course of Friday and Saturday. We arrived at the event early Friday morning and the check-in process was efficient and smooth. We didn’t really know what to expect, as the two previous Vapefests we have attended have been completely different (one being an outdoor event and the other being more of an expo event).
When we arrived in the hall, it seemed to be very quiet and a little sparse. We were told that this was down to the fact that the hours were very long, and that towards the evening it becomes more of a party than an expo. There were around 30 vendors and the stands were very limited. However, this didn’t take anything away from what they were trying to achieve. It had the feeling of being more of a vape meet than an expo, but they never billed themselves as an expo, so this wasn’t a disappointment.
It was a well organised event, with raffles and giveaways happening throughout the day. The attendees seemed to be enjoying themselves even though the room never seemed to fill up, and new companies seemed to be able to exhibit their goods probably without the heavy cost that would normally be associated with a larger event.
I think the main draw for us was Vegas itself, although we did love the intimacy of this event and how we had time to speak with each and every single vendor. More importantly, everyone had time for each other and that’s one of the things I love –speaking with fellow vapers to make worthwhile connections. I’d recommend checking this event out as you may find a hidden gem within Vapefest next year.
There's A Flavor For Everyone.by Stephen Tarpey
There were mod manufacturers from China and the USA present, many premium juice brands from both sides of the pond including British brands like Vampire Vapes, Black Bamboo and American brands such as KVASS, Propaganda and of course Buckshot Vapors, who hosted the Miss Vapor USA competition in search of the latest vape models.
During the Saturday afternoon there was also a cloud chasing competition with a cash prize to winner. Whilst the footfall was quite low, those who did attend were certainly involved and were cheering for both the cloud chasing and Miss Vapor USA pageant. As ever, it was great for us to catch up with many friends in the industry and making new contacts and alliances is always something that we strive to do. We are also pleased to announce our official media partnership with Miss Vapor USA. I actually had the honour of being one of the judges for this event and I can tell you that this is going to be a huge competition contested all over the world. If this sound like your cup of tea, read more about it in our feature – you never know you may appear in future issues of Vapouround should you win.
This March saw the first Vape Expo Poland. This was a great event with a number of companies from all over the world in attendance.
ECC is known throughout the vape world for throwing the biggest vape expo in Southern California every summer - last year’s ECC Pomona (see our recap of that event here) attendance was estimated at 75,000. ECC has also been putting on a series of regional shows called VPX the Vapers Exhibit - first in Niagra Falls then last fall in New Orleans (which we also exhibited at) This time around - ECC chose the motor city and we sure are glad they did - what an amazing place, vape scene and a great location in the midwest that brought vape shop owners/managers from Chicago, Ohio, Western PA and even some from New York and further.Detroit is a city that is known for the auto industry, birthplace of techno as well as for it’s urban blight - almost declaring bankruptcy in 2014. When most people think of Detroit, many recall the film 8 Mile staring Eminem, which was actually a pretty dope film. What they don’t picture is a city that is in the midst of a rebirth - transitioning from a rust belt manufacturing center to a more modern urban city with tech companies (Quicken Loans being the biggest), hipsters on bicycles, great craft beer and a urban lofts for a fraction of what people pay in Brooklyn. VPX Detroit was held March 4 - 6th. Cafe Racer’s plan was to parachute a few days before the show to check out the shops in the area. Flying in from warm and sunny southern California was a bit of a climate shock - landing in a snow storm and 24’ temperatures (- 4 Celsius). The weather only got worse on day 1 - with a major storm swinging through the area dropping 4” of snow - making driving unmanageable for this fair weather Cali dude. When the weather broke on Wednesday, I was able to hit about 12 shops over the course of the day. Starting out in mega college town of Ann Arbor and working my way closer to the center worked out great. I even had a chance to stop at Cafe Racer Vintage Motorcyle Shop - a custom motorbike shop that we had contacted to sort out a bike to use at our booth at the show. John and Malisa, the owners, were super friendly and were also really interested in quitting smoking and starting to vape - which was a double plus - as this is always one of our primary missions to convert smokers into vapers and leave behind a legacy that will help transform people’s lives. The reception by the local
vape shops to our award winning line of artfully crafed e-liquid was amazing. Highlights of the day included dropping into one of Cafe Racer’s existing accounts - Detroit Vapor and finally meeting the team there and then the last stop of the day - Metro Vapor Plus closer to downtown. Metro Vapor Plus is a thriving shop. The place was packed with regulars when I stepped through the door - but the store manager and team were super friendly and when I pulled out some Cafe Racer samples they jumped at the VPX Detroit was held in the mega center knows as Cobo Center. This is the same building that hosts the world famous North American International Auto Show - and it’s massive. There were approx 45 companies exhibiting - surprisingly most were based in Michigan with many of the big California based companies opting instead to do a show in Poland or opting out completely. Their loss was our gain as the show delivered a fantastic attendance for both the B2B and a terrific number of vape enthusiasts for the general admission. The Cafe Racer team was busy from the opening bell with the tasting bar bangin’ non-stop. We picked up some fantastic local craft beer from Founders Brewing Company to do pairings at the booth with Lucky 13 and Lucky Bastard. One of Founder’s flavors was even called Dirty Bastard - which was an amazing dark ruby in color and brewed with seven varieties of imported malts with hints of smoke and peat, paired with a malty richness and a right hook of hop power to give it the bad attitude that a beer named Dirty Bastard has to live up to. With an ABV of 8.5% - this was one to sip slowly but paired amazingly well with Lucky 13 and Lucky Bastard.hance to try them. We made a ton of new friends at VPX and were able to sign up some new accounts on the spot - ranging local shops like Metro Vapor Plus, Hometown Vapor and others to Flavr Vapor Lounge from Lancaster, PA and Time 2 Vape from Queens, New York and even a great shop back in SoCal called Vapor Zone. E-liquid flavor tastes tend to be regional and Detroit definitely welcomed our line with open arms - especially the tobacco based Lucky brothers as well as Peach Guzzi and Yogurt Bomb. I look forward to returning to Detroit - hopefully ECC will choose to do another VPX here next year.
It was based in old quant halls within Le Centquatre in Paris. This expo was laid out very differently to most we had seen before – it was spread across three small halls rather than the usual one large open plan hall.
The first thing we noticed upon entering was the amount of people that were already in the show. The place was packed with businesses looking to discover the next big juice. The organisers seemed to do well packing many big names into this somewhat small venue. Because of the size of the venues, we didn’t really see any weird and wonderful stands, more booth styles all pretty much resembling each other. Some of the vendors had made the effort with the likes of Charlie’s, US Vaping, and BordO2 trying to stand out from the crowd. This event seemed to lack the fun element that we were used to seeing at so many of the different expos across the world, and to me it didn’t really live up to its full potential. After talking to many of the exhibitors they all told me that it was a successful show for them and good business was done by all.
We arrived in Paris for the second instalment of the Vap expos event Innovaping days. This was geared more to the B2B rather than consumer.
This kit was released in the UK in November 2015 and has gained an extensive following since. It is a great device for those who are relatively new to sub-ohm vaping and need a simple to use kit.
I received a blue Subvod kit with a top or bottom filling pyrex Subtank Nano-S with a capacity of up to 3.2ml (as opposed to the European version of 1.9ml ). It has a diameter of 18.5mm and a standard 510 connection. Furthermore, it has an updated airflow options when compared to the Subtank Nano. This tank supports SSOCC coils down to 0.4ohms.
Personally, I find all Kangertech tanks to be fiddly and prone to leakages due to the glass not being fixed to the rubber o-rings.
It is made of Stainless Steel and Aluminium alloy and comes in 6 different colours – Black, White, Silver, Blue, Pink and Purple, enough to suit anyone! It also comes with a replaceable plastic drip tip to match the battery.
The Subvod is a Li-ion1300mAh battery with a 3.7v fixed output voltage, which takes a maximum of about 2 hours to charge, however when vaping anything under 1 ohm, you should not expect the battery to last very long.
For such a basic device, vapour production is impressive, especially when using high VG juices.
Flavour is okay, but not the best i’ve tried.
I found that the Subvod was particularly handy both physically-as it is not bulky and can fit in many ‘ecig’ lanyard cases, making it useful to take out on your travels, and technically- as you dont have to fiddle with changing voltage/ wattage/temperature etc.
The price is very reasonable at about £25 online.
Overall, The Kangertech Subvod is a very welcome change to kanger devices, it’s a good price, aesthetically pleasing and a fab vapour production. What more could you want?!
“I FOUND THAT THE SUBVOD WAS PARTICULARLY HANDY BOTH PHYSICALLY-AS IT IS NOT BULKY AND CAN FIT IN MANY ‘ECIG’ LANYARD CASES, MAKING IT USEFUL TO TAKE OUT ON YOUR TRAVELS”
Recently, I got an Innokin CoolFire IV Plus Storm Edition kit that included a matching iSub G tank.
I had heard good things about this device, and, upon receiving it, I did a little more researching and that was it, my mind was made up!
It is truly a sight to behold, ergonomically pleasing, an incredible sub-ohm capability, stellar battery life and super easy to use!
The kit came in a very smart box that included;
• The Cool Fire IV Plus battery/mod itself
• An iSub G Tank ( I believe this kit has the option of an iSub Apex instead, however not in my case)
• A spare 0.5ohm iSub coil
• A micro USB charging cable
• Various sized spare O-rings
• A manual
• And finally...Innokin Stickers!
My device came as a Limited Edition that was named the 'Storm Edition' that closely resembles Stormtroopers from the popular Star Wars movies.
It is made of a durable, shiny white plastic, with black accents. If a vape kit could be described as 'sexy' then this is definitely is! It is very sleek and fits nicely in your hand. It is not heavy per se, but has a satisfying weight to it.
The Cool Fire IV Plus can fire down to 0.1 ohm and has a wattage up to an incredible 70W, the battery is astounding at 3300mAh and can easily last a moderate vaper all day, if not longer. It has the standard 510 connection, and will accommodate most tanks – Although I recommend sticking with an Innokin iSub G/iSubApex.
The Storm edition, as I said earlier, is a glossy white, however, other colours are available, such as, brushed aluminium, black, blue and red.
The tank is made of stainless steel and
pyrex glass. It is very straightforward to fill up, just make sure you don't over tighten when screwing it back in. It can hold about 4.5ml of juice. It features excellent Airflow options and a 'No Spill' coil swap system.
I feel that the CoolFire IV Plus is a sturdy and very dependable device, and will appeal to vapers new and experienced. It has great capabilities yet is simple enough for those who want to explore the world of sub-ohming.
Overall, a fantastic kit, and noticeably upgraded when compared to the CoolFire 4. Personally, I love this device!"
“IF A VAPE KIT COULD BE DESCRIBED AS 'SEXY' THEN THIS IS DEFINITELY IS!”

Asmodus Minikin is a dual 18650 battery operated mod. The actual mod itself is quite small and compact, considering that it runs on two batteries which can normally make mods quite chunky. The battery compartment is accessed via a magnetic plate which slides on and off the mod.
There is no internal charging mechanism so the batteries must be removed to charge. This may be a slight inconvenience for some people. I found it unpractical and a little inconvenient too, as I’m a frequent traveller and take a battery charger with me (which can take up valuable space in my suitcase). I would also not recommend this device
for a beginner. However it’s perfect for someone who has been vaping for a few months and who wants to use a device that will allow for a much better vape than starter kits offer.
The mod itself has a temperature control chip and allows for both power and temperature control operations. TC is offered with Ni and Ti coils.
The Minikin allows for a minimum resistance of 0.1 ohms, making it perfect for using with many tanks and atomisers on the market. It is unsuitable for those who enjoy building their own coils with very low resistances.
I used two atomisers with this mod; an Aspire Cleito tank with a 0.2ohm coil and council of Vapor Royal Hunter Mini RDA. The coils had a combined resistance of about 0.12 ohms. This device produced a beautiful vape on both of these atomisers and I have to say I really do love using this mod. It's visually stunning and produces a great vape on both the atomisers used.
The mod comes with three buttons, a large fire button on the front of the device above an OLEM display. Two more buttons are on the side + and - to increase and decrease the power.
To turn it on you press the fire button 5 times, to lock the system you press the fire and + button together and go through the same process to unlock it. To switch it off, press the fire button five times and then press +, off it goes. The practicality of this mod is great.
The round edges and high gloss finish on the paint give the mod a feel of real quality. The rounded edges make it very pleasant to hold and the functionality of the buttons is pretty straight forward. The Minikin also has different modes that can be accessed by pressing the fire button 5 times. To toggle through the various modes, you also use the fire button. From this menu you can choose whether to go into power mode, Temperature Control mode, or if you wish to invert the colours or change the brightness on the display screen. At the time of writing this I have been using the Minikin all day everyday for about three weeks. I have travelled from Poland to the UK and from the UK to Vegas and North Carolina. As you can imagine my mods can get quite a lot of punishment getting put in my luggage and various bags. A major plus point, is that the paint is holding up remarkably well and still looks pristine, which is not something I have always found with other mods which can look quite battered after the same period of time.
This is a great piece of kit that I would definitely recommend to anyone with a bit of experience vaping. I give it 8/10 as I would like to see an internal USB charging point, although it is a small minus on an otherwise great device. Available from Grey Haze at greyhaze. co.uk
Professor Ploom’s Vape Potion is a premium e-liquid company based out of Las Vegas, NV.
We use only the finest ingredients in our potions for a smooth all day vapeable product. We believe that we are raising the bar in the e-liquid industry, offering you 5 unique signature one of a kind potions that can be vaped in any occasion, anytime, anywhere. The Professor began he’s journey producing e-liquids late 2011 for the soul purpose to get his wife who has been smoking since the age of 13 to quit smoking cigarettes. It has been 5 years since she has had a single drag off a disgusting cigarette and that is just amazing! Prior to being Vape Shop owners we owned a Roll Your Own Cigarette Store. Since my wife began the process of giving up smoking it just didn’t make sense to be selling cigarettes. That’s when we realized we wanted to help other people quit smoking as well. So we decided to sell our shares and open a Vape Shop. The Professor Ploom line came out in 2013, one flavor at a time in our brick and mortar store in Las Vegas. We are now confident that you as a consumer will love the hard work that we put into all of these flavors. We love what we do and will continue to produce e-liquid that will get you to your goal.
“IMC Vapors LLC is a manufacturer of handmade artisan premium e-liquids. Founded by a pilot, his love of clouds translated from the air into the vaping industry.
After quitting smoking for his aviation career, our founder had trouble finding an affordable, delicious flavor. Frustrated by this, he decided to found IMC Vapors LLC.
In fact, the term “IMC” comes from our aviation heritage. IMC is an aviation term that stands for Instrument Meteorological Conditions. Instrument Meteorological Conditions is an aviation flight category that describes weather conditions that require pilots to fly primary by reference to instruments, therefore under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), rather than by outside visual references under Visual Flight Rules (VFR). Typically, this means flying in very large, thick clouds or fog.
To ensure our liquid is as clean as the air at altitude, all of our products are manufactured in an ISO 4 clean environment using only the highest quality ingredients, and are lab tested to ensure safety and consistency.”
Black Bamboo is a premium E-liquid manufacturer based in the UK that produces high quality juices using the best available ingredients. They have put a lot of research in to developing smooth, flavoursome liquids that attempt to cross the line in to all-day vape status.
The first E-liquid I tried from Black Bamboo was Serendipity. As with most premium juices all of the products in this line come packaged in glass bottles with droppers and a stylish label that tells you everything about the E-liquid. Serendipity is a simple yet effective strawberry milkshake vape, blending a sweet, fresh strawberry flavour with thick creams and undertones of vanilla. Although not unique this flavour is lovingly crafted in this E-liquid and
it’s extremely smooth and moreish. Definitely a good start.
This juice is the definition of smooth. Featuring luxurious caramel with different custard flavours and a small hint of vanilla it’s extremely sweet and comforting. I really enjoyed this E-liquid at high temperatures as the warm vapour really complimented the taste and added to the smoothness of this E-liquid. I really enjoyed Dulcet and definitely hope to come back to it at some point.
As the name would suggest this is a rich and indulgent juice. Thick peanut butter is mixed with marshmallows and a hint of vanilla that seems to be a running theme in quite a few of Black Bamboo’s juices. It’s a well-balanced E-liquid that on paper is in danger of becoming overly sweet, however the peanut butter helps offset the sugary marshmallow and the vanilla brings it home beautifully.
Ebullience is the quality of being cheerful and full of energy. I think this E-liquid embodies that definition perfectly with a
a hint of graham crackers (digestive biscuits). It tastes exactly like the real thing and I have to commend Captain Obvious for absolutely nailing the flavour. This juice also features a 90/10 VG/PG ratio, helping to produce thick clouds of vapour to accompany the delicious taste. What’s not to like?
USA based Captain Obvious have developed a line of premium E-liquids. Hand made using only the highest quality ingredients all three of these juices have a clear and distinct flavour combination and I’m certain there’s something here to match most people’s tastes.
As the name would suggest this is a key lime pie flavoured E-liquid. I have to say key lime pie is one of my absolute favourite desserts and this juice does it justice! It’s a delicious blend of tart lime with a creamy vanilla cheesecake and
A real summer inspired offering here from Captain Obvious, The Beach Bum is a tropical fruit cocktail that will make you feel like you really are on an island somewhere sipping from a coconut. Featuring strawberries, peaches, pineapples, coconuts and tons of other tropical fruits it really is packed with flavour and with a 70/30 VG/PG ratio it’s smooth and cloudy to boot. If you’re looking for something refreshing and supremely tasty you should definitely look in to The Beach Bum.
dessert vape worthy of its name. Thick banana pudding blended in to a thick, unctuous milkshake, all of the flavours here are extremely accurate and you can tell a lot of work has gone in to this juice to make it as rich and addictive as it is. Ebullience never fails to bring a smile to my face and I think many others will enjoy it as much as I do.
This mysterious E-liquid is definitely unique and I think Black Bamboo have done an excellent job in creating something new and interesting in the juice world. It’s a refreshing vape with passion fruit infused champagne and a drop of lemonade. It’s fruity and fizzy in equal measures with a hint of tartness from the alcohol flavour and a good amount of sweetness. I thoroughly urge everyone to give this juice a go, it’s super refreshing and wonderfully crafted. Those using plastic tanks may want to give this a miss though as the fizziness may damage the tank.
All E-liquids 70/30 VG/PG ratio.
I’m sampling a few juices from USA’s Villain Vapors. Offering a wide variety of flavours and VG ratios as well as top ingredients you’re guaranteed to find something here worth your time.
First up from Villain Vapors comes Bonnie and Clyde. A tasty blend of fruits and berries with a nice, not overly strong but refreshing effect. Many different flavours are on show here, strawberries, blueberries, hints of apple and pear, none of these dominate the overall taste but they all collaborate to create a sweet, fruity vape that I think most people will enjoy.
Tombstone is another fruit filled vape, this time with the added twist of cool menthol. The overall effect is pleasant and refreshing however if you don’t like menthol there’s little here to draw you in as it is rather similar to Bonnie and Clyde. However if you do enjoy something a little bit different this is definitely a tasty E-liquid that I definitely kept going back to.
As always I have to preface this by saying I am really not a fan of tobacco E-liquids, however once again I’m surprised to find I actually really enjoyed this juice. Those looking for a pure tobacco vape may want to look elsewhere as it is quite subtle but for those unsure like myself it’s a great introduction to this style of juice. The light, fragrant tobacco is infused with vanilla and the aftertaste is filled with sweet caramel. The contrast between the flavours is lovely and it’s excellently blended. I just don’t think this juice would be as good without the tobacco and it’s quite rare I find myself saying that.
eDrops are a line of high end E-liquids, bottled and distributed by Heartland Vapes. They offer a wide variety of different flavours in all the usual sizes and nicotine strengths. I’ll be reviewing two of these juices.
First off from eDrops is Whips & Chains. A bakery themed E-liquid with a spiced twist. The dominant flavour here is warming cinnamon, just the right amount without becoming too hot. It’s joined by a sweet, fresh cookie flavour that does a good job of creating a contrast to the spice. The resulting vape tastes just like
a freshly baked cinnamon cookie, it’s almost like you’re eating it thanks to the accuracy and blend of the flavours used. I really enjoy cinnamon in E-liquids and I definitely recommend this juice.
Eve’s Temptation is a juice that I really didn’t get on with at first, however after giving it a couple more tries it’s starting to grow on me. It’s a mixture of several different Turkish tobaccos and exotic apples. The tobacco flavour here is strong and pungent however the apple flavours do help to offset that. It’s certainly something a bit different but I don’t think I’ll ever truly be able to enjoy strong tobacco E-liquids However I
know there are a lot of people who vape exclusively tobaccos and others who really enjoy them so I can give Eve’s Temptation a thumbs up to those vapers.
“The contrast between the flavours is lovely and it’s excellently blended.”
“The resulting vape tastes just like a freshly baked cinnamon cookie, it’s almost like you’re eating it thanks to the accuracy and blend of the flavours used.”
things interesting. Like I said before it’s extremely well balanced and blended to perfection. Try it.
Founded in 2014 in the E-juice capital of the world, California, Traditional Juice Co spent months working on their line of juices. Now in 2016 they have four unique and distinct flavours that I have the pleasure of tasting today. Traditional Juice Co are also extremely passionate about the vape community and strive to help it grow and thrive.
Firstly from Traditional Juice Co is Black & Blue. It’s a fruity offering that In my opinion is one of the most well measured and excellently blended juices I’ve tried this year. Wild berries like strawberries, raspberries and blueberries dominate the initial vape and their joined by a tropical twist in the form of pineapples. None of these fruits are too sweet and some of them have a slight acidity so there’s definitely a contrast in flavour to keep
Something a bit different here. If you’ve never tried hibiscus tea it’s a red coloured herbal tea that in my opinion tastes quite a bit like hot Ribena. It’s certainly something I never expected to see in an E-liquid, but it’s available in Lola. The refreshing hibiscus tea flavour is infused with ripe and juicy strawberries that add another layer of fruitiness to the mix. There’s also an unmistakeable hint of tea to this juice that I absolutely love. Definitely give Lola a go if you’re up for something new and interesting.
A bit of a cheeky dessert E-liquid next from Traditional Juice Co. I didn’t even know you could deep fry ice cream but that’s what this juice is based around, and with an extra sprinkling of sugar on top this is definitely an indulgent vape. The ice cream flavour on its own is fairly standard but there is a hint of something doughnut like which must be the deep fried aspect. If you’re looking for something sweet and creamy, give Indian Giver a go.
“
California based Vubble have a real passion for bubble gum vapes. Both of their E-liquids are based around the flavour and they hope to get vapers feeling nostalgic for the classic bubble gum taste. All of their juices are made in an ISO-7 certified laboratory and they use the best nicotine and flavourings available.
Strawberry and bubble gum is a great combination, both of the flavours are fantastically juicy and full of moreish sweetness. The strawberry flavour is more of the artificial type used in sweets but it suits the bubble gum just fine. Nostalgia is definitely a huge factor in this E-liquid, it tastes a lot like strawberry hubba bubba, a childhood favourite of mine. I absolutely recommend this juice to anyone who had bubble gum as a kid or even if you’ve never tried it give Strawberry Vubble a go.
It’s watermelon’s turn to get the bubble gum treatment now. Like the strawberry flavour the watermelon here is based on the candy variety, although not as refreshing as a fresh watermelon flavour I think it works a lot better with the sweet, juicy bubble gum and it’s still absolutely delicious. This juice absolutely gushes with flavour, I guarantee your saliva glands are gonna get a work out here. It’s absolutely mouth-watering and I urge everyone to try it.
All E-liquids tested at 1.5 mg nicotine All E-liquids 60/40 VG/PG
Lastly comes White Tiger. It’s a complex and fantastically rich vape that you absolutely have to taste to fully understand. A lot of flavours are on display here, the core of the juice is a thick vanilla milkshake that tastes amazing. It’s then blended with fresh tasting strawberries and ever so slightly sharp blueberries. It’s finished off with a sprinkling of waffle cone over the top. All of these flavours are fantastically crafted and they mix together amazingly. An absolutely epic conclusion to my Traditional Juice Co tasting session. I highly recommend you get hold of these juices.
Nostalgia is definitely a huge factor in this E-liquid, it tastes a lot like strawberry hubba bubba, a childhood favourite of mine.”
After my review of the Bad Drip line of juices in last month’s issue, I remember saying that I was excited to see what else they would come out with. Thankfully I haven’t had to wait very long to find out. Clown is the latest range of E-liquids from the Bad Drip Labs in New York, once again featuring unique flavours and combinations. After the success of the original Bad Drip range I simply can’t wait to give these juices a try.
The first juice I tried from the Clown range was Sweet Tooth. As the name would suggest this is a candy style vape, with the main flavour being candy floss. It’s an excellent representation of the classic fairground treat and Sweet Tooth combines it with an awesome candy raspberry flavour that works really well with the candy floss. Somehow this juice isn’t overly sweet and I was definitely able to vape it all day. My only gripe is that I got through the 30ml bottle too quickly!
Named after the classic horror film clown himself, Pennywise is a fruity concoction. Bad Drips Lab have masterfully blended ripe strawberries with refreshing watermelon and a subtle but essential hint of bubble gum. I absolutely love watermelon flavours in E-liquids and strawberry is a worthy partner for it, but
it’s the bubble gum that really brings this juice home and adds a mouth-watering juiciness that has to be tried.
Splitz is a dessert vape for the ages. It all starts with a base flavour of smashed bananas, the ripe and fruity flavour
scoop of vanilla ice cream, and as you would expect it goes really well with the banana custard adding another layer of creaminess to the mix. Splitz is a rich and indulgent vape that does a fantastic job of being a dessert vape that never becomes too sweet or sickly.
Twisty is another fruity blend in this Clown range of juices, this time with what the Bad Drips Lab have dubbed a Razzy-Berry concoction. To me it tastes like a raspberry candy flavour with a hint of some other berries like blueberry. In this E-liquid it’s blended with a smooth and creamy yoghurt that adds a definite freshness to the vape. I really enjoyed Twisty and found it very easy to vape. Another E-liquid that I unfortunately got through a bit too quickly.
setting an excellent tone for the juice. It’s then combined with a fresh and creamy custard, a classic dessert in its own right, banana and custard. Splitz isn’t done yet though. The final component is a big
Last up from the Clown range is Laffy. A candy fruit vape combining my absolute favourite E-liquid favour; grape, with a sweet blueberry taffy to create an extremely addictive vape. The grape taste is juicy and refreshing and if you’ve never tried taffy before it’s a sweet and sticky candy that lends itself to blueberry really well. I absolutely recommend this juice as well as the entire Clown line. I really hope that the Bad Drips Lab continue to produce fantastic E-liquids like these and keep on pushing the boat out with interesting flavours.
“Bad Drips Lab have masterfully blended ripe strawberries with refreshing watermelon and a subtle but essential hint of bubble gum.”
I’m sampling a brand new juice from Teleos’ Breakfast at Teleos line. Founded in late 2013, Teleos are a producer of high end E-liquid and I’ve heard great things about their flavours so it’s time to get stuck in.
So as the name would suggest Teleos’ breakfast line contains mostly cereal flavours with Crunch being no different. It’s a hybrid of a crunchy berry cereal and a marshmallowy kripsy treat. The initial inhale treats you to a milky bath of sweet cereal and hints of berry whilst the
exhale introduces creamy marshmallow with more layers of cereal. The overall flavour is surprisingly mellow and none of the sweetness is too overbearing of sickly. Crunch is definitely a well measured and masterfully crafted E-liquid that gives new life to the crowded cereal juice market. I’m really interested to try more of Teleos’ juices.
Hangsen, one of the world’s largest E-liquid manufacturers, well known for their huge range of flavours and reasonable pricing have created a brand new line of premium E-liquids called Series 8. All of these juices are a 50/50 blend which is definitely good for all tanks and drippers. They also come packaged in a small box with 10ml glass bottles and droppers.
Cool Passion is at its core a pure menthol E-liquid. It’s a strong menthol flavour with hints of mint and it’s definitely refreshing. Every inhale is like breathing in on a cold winters day. However if you don’t like menthol or only like it mixed with other flavours then cool passion probably isn’t for you.
Ginger Secret is an interesting juice. At first I really didn’t like it but with more
vaping it has grown on me a lot. The dominant flavours in this E-liquid are ginger and lemon, but there’s a hint of mint on the exhale that helps cool the strong flavours down. Ginger isn’t one of my favourites but it does taste nice and fresh here and it’s a great contrast to the sweet and sour lemon.
Strawberry and vanilla are a classic combination and although nothing new in the E-juice world it is represented well in Hangsen’s Strawnilla. As you’d expect the strawberry flavour is sweet and fresh, a perfect companion for the moreish, slightly creamy vanilla flavour. It’s very well blended and I highly recommend Strawnilla, it’s probably my favourite juice in this series 8 range.
Another classic here, Red Lemon is a cola vape, with a twist of lemon. As we all know cola and lemon work excellently together and that’s the case in this E-liquid. It’s an ultra refreshing vape with the sweet, sticky cola taste being a good match for the sharp lemon. Definitely give this juice a try if you like a good cola vape.

California’s Epistle E-liquid are a passionate producer of juices and are keen on getting across the message of vaping. A portion of all of their sales go towards the NOTblowingsmoke campaign that hope to educate people about vaping and also rally against the regulations being put in place around the world. It’s a great cause and I’m really excited to try this juice from Epistle Eliquid.
Definitely a unique juice here from Epistle E-liquid. I’ve never tried a carrot
cake vape before and it’s absolutely a flavour I’ll be looking out for in the future. The initial flavour is a subtly spiced cake that’s got an excellent blend of sugar and cinnamon as well as other warming spices. The exhale introduces a wonderfully light, creamy icing flavour that blends very nicely with the spiced cake. I’m really surprised I’ve never tried a carrot cake E-liquid before because it’s one of my favourites and an absolute classic. I definitely recommend this juice because it’s super tasty and helps to support an excellent cause.

“ It’s an absolutely fantastic tasting juice, with both fruity flavours masterfully blended and the menthol perfectly tying them together to create one of the most refreshing E-liquids I’ve ever vaped.”
this E-liquid to anyone interested in breakfast juices because it beats a lot of the others on the market at a very reasonable price.
ADV or All Day Vapes are a UK E-liquid producer that aims to bring premium quality juices at affordable prices. They offer a wide range of flavours and I’m tasting two of them today. Hopefully they can live up to their name and become juices that live on in my tanks and drippers.
First up from ADV is Magic Juice, their first cereal E-liquid and as cereal flavours go this one is definitely up there with the best. The initial taste is a complex, creamy cereal with hints of sugary sweet fruit in the aftertaste. Overall it’s a pleasant flavour without ever becoming too sweet or boring like some cereal juices tend to be. I definitely recommend
Forbidden Treasure combines two of my favourite E-liquid flavours so I was always going to love this juice but I definitely think it’s going to be popular with a lot of vapers. It’s a refreshing mixture of cool watermelon and sweet grapes with a subtle hint of menthol on the exhale. It’s an absolutely fantastic tasting juice, with both fruity flavours masterfully blended and the menthol perfectly tying them together to create one of the most refreshing E-liquids I’ve ever vaped. A definite all-day vape rating from me!

Since I began vaping, I have always been partial to the ever-present selection of cereal flavours. However, many of the ones that I have tried were tart and far too over powering, especially the Red Berry cereal ones.
I then came across Boss Reserve by Cuttwood, a very mild yet delectable blend of honey, nuts, and of course, cereal.
The aroma, when opening the bottle, is sweet and somewhat fruity, although this is not the case when tasting this juice.
The flavour is soft and nutty and I can definitely pick up on the naturalistic tang of sweet honey. Whilst inhaling, I found the warm, crunchy nut-like flavour encapsulate my mouth and throat, and whilst breathing out, I got a creamy taste that felt exactly like a bowl of cereal and fresh milk.
I found this juice to have exceptional vapour production and a delightful and satisfying mixture of flavours that are true to life. I can see Boss Reserve becoming a staple in many vaper’s choice of top eLiquids!
This juice is said to taste like fruity cereal and Rice Krispie treats, although I found it to be more on the side of tart cereal rather than the marshmallowy creaminess that you get with the Rice Krispie Treats.
There is a prominent taste of a sweet and sour lemon candy whilst inhaling, and even though it is the main flavour, it wasn't too overwhelming in the short term.
breathing it in,
of cereal is more noticeable as it settles on your tongue.
Powell, to me, resembles the love child of Space Jam's Solstice and Cuttwood's Bird Brains, with the magnificent cloud production of a max VG eLiquid.
I must admit this wouldn't be my 'Go to vape' as it can get a little strong if you vape on it for a while. However, those of you who enjoy a sweet, citrusy vape, then this is most definitely for you!"

Right off the bat, I smelt the deliciously tart blueberry as well as a light velvety cream. Before trying Levitation by 13FE, I was not so keen on fruity, berry flavoured vapes, but, yet again, they have smashed it!
The blueberry is very subtle and there is a definite cake-like dimension to it that really fills out the already inviting taste of this eLiquid. Levitation sort of reminds
me of the blueberry version of The Milkman (A popular strawberry based milkshake flavoured e juice)
I'm always excited to see and to try out the 13th Floor Elevapors line and have never been disappointed. I think this juice will appeal to all, especially berry fans.
As expected, with 80% VG, cloud production is not only impressive, but also very satisfying.
I found 13FE really hit the nail on the head with Levitation, and I was very pleasantly surprised!
I've tried berry flavours in the past, and didnt like them. This juiuce, however, totally makes me want to reconsider my judgemental stance on this particular pallette of eLiquid. Most of the previous flavours I had tried were too strong and artificial tasting.
Bermuda reminds me of a full-bodied berry smoothie, with just the slightest hint of apple. It is not too over the top with
tartness, but rather well rounded and pleasing to your tongue.
At 60% VG, this eJuice has a fantastic equilibrium between flavour and vapour.
I rather enjoyed this liquid, with its delicate blend of berries and pleasing vapour production. Once again, 13th Floor Elevapors have really delivered a great tasting juice! "

Last time we looked at the popularity of cloud chasing as a sport and at competitive cloud chasing so now it time to consider some of the techniques and equipment used by cloud chasers. When we are talking about entering competitive cloud chasing contests then it is vital to use the correct technique to ensure that you have the best possible advantage over the competition. To win a cloud competition, a vaper has to produce the thickest and largest vapour cloud of any of the contestants taking part. Just like in all competitions, you have to do something better than everyone else.
The first thing to realise about cloud chasing is that it is not as easy as it looks. There is a lot of skill involved and it can take many months of hard work (or longer) to get to a skill level where you are good enough to do well in contests.
Also it is not just about having the best or most expensive equipment as that totally ignores the vital skill element which has to be mastered by anyone who take part in competitive cloud chasing. It is a combination of using the right equipment, mastering the right skills and employing the correct breathing techniques which are all important to cloud chasing.
Another important factor is the e-liquid used itself as some
liquids are far better at producing vapour clouds than others.
As a general rule, the higher the concentration of VG to PG the better so 100% VG and 0% PG is an e-liquid which should produce a large and satisfying vapour cloud.
This is not normally a factor in competitive cloud chasing as, in order to ensure fairness, the organisers usually provide competitors with the same juice to use.
Before we discuss the equipment you can use for cloud chasing, it is time for a warning.
Under no circumstances should you attempt to build your own equipment or modify equipment that you own without fully understanding what you are doing.
You will want to pay particular attention to battery safety including what could cause your battery to explode and how to guard against this happening.
You will also need to know how Ohms Law applies to vaping and this will require knowledge of basic electrical circuits. Safety must come first so never adopt a “try it and see what happens approach” as this can only lead to disaster.
Ok warning over, let’s look at equipment. When it comes to equipment then your choice of mod is very important here.
There is a lot more to cloud chasing than just taking in a huge breath and exhaling powerfully. In fact cloud chasing is becoming so popular, there is no doubt it is a sub-category of vaping as a whole.
You will want to use a mod which is optimised for cloud chasing such as a copper mechanical mod or a unit which is able to work at very high wattage levels.
The amount of airflow generated is also a crucial factor so you will need a RDA with good air flow characteristics to produce those really impressive clouds. You want a really good amount of air flowing under or across the coils for best results. The way the coil is set up and the more conductive the device is the better are also considerations for maximum cloud generation. A lot of people find that using a mech mod which has dual nano coils is particularly effective.
Of course all of this is going to draw a lot of power so you will need to ensure that your battery has plenty of power if you are to produce impressive vapor clouds
If there are offline events being held by vape clubs in your area then this is a great place to go to learn more and ask questions from the experts.
The great thing about the vaping community is if someone does not know the answer to a particular question then they can often put you in touch with someone who does know.
Online there are many videos and online tutorials which are specifically aimed at cloud chasing and how to do it so also be sure to check some of those out to find our more. So much for equipment but the very best kit in the world will be no use to you if you cannot master the correct breathing techniques.
The great thing about the vaping community is if someone does not know the answer to a particular question then they can often put you in touch with someone who does know.
While an article like this can give you some general guidance on getting your breathing right, there is no substitute for practise, practice and more practice.
Generally to get the best and biggest clouds you will need to inhale the most amount of vapour that you can and then release it in a controlled manner.
First you would totally empty your lungs of air and as you exhale it is a good idea to lean forward as this helps get rid of as much air as possible.
When you inhale the vapour you want to do so for as long as you can and as hard as you can. Also straighten up once more as this will allow you to get more air into your lungs.
Try to exhale at a constant rate and push your jaw slightly outwards as this will allow the vapour to escape more easily. Finally if you tighten your lips in the very final stage of the exhale to generate that extra final push to really produce the huge cloud that you desire.
Once again, we cannot stress enough that practice really does make perfect and feel free to ask more experienced cloud chasers for their tips to help you get the really big clouds. Also by demonstrating your techniques to experienced cloud chasers, they will be able to tell you where you may be going wrong and give you advice on the areas where you need to do more work for maximum results.
A lot of people get a lot of enjoyment from cloud chasing and maybe you could soon be one of them too.

Striking fighter pilot theme sets Nighthawk apart from the competition and draws on owner Luke Tschantz’s Military & Aviation Background.
Nighthawk Eliquid boss Luke Tschantz is proud to do things just a little bit differently in the vaping industry.
For a start, setting up the business in Atlanta, Georgia, when the majority of the top US eliquid companies are located in California is a little bit different. This could be seen as a disadvantage by some but for Chief Executive Officer Luke Tschantz it is a positive advantage which allows him to have an edge over the competition.
Being based in Atlanta means that Luke had the opportunity to represent the southeastern side of the country in the vaping industry and he took full advantage of this fact.
Luke said: “Most of the major e-liquid companies are based out of California and there's really no up-and-corning
e-liquid companies in the Southeast.”
“You have Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina all here and I was determined to give the southeastern side of the U.S. something to root for, something to call their home e-liquid company.”
This is why most of the flavor profiles at Nighthawk Eliquid have a distinct southern feel to them such as the Arnold Palmer Lemonade Iced Tea, Peaches and Cream and Caramel Cinnamon Roll. The idea is to incorporate into the eliquids some of the very traditional southern flavors that so many people in the Southeast enjoy.
Luke added: “That’s what makes us different, and we're proud to represent Atlanta. There's a big vape community that kind of gets overshadowed by the
California vape scene, but the people here are really passionate about it and we are really passionate about the products we create.”
Perhaps the first thing that people notice about Nighthawk Eliquid is the really clear branding and the obvious military theme and this is no coincidence.
Luke wanted a strong, powerful and unique brand which had meaning and which he felt would resonate with the vaping community and drawing upon his military background was an obvious choice.
He grew up in Iowa City, Iowa, joined the Army after high school, gained a degree in aeronautical science and got accepted to the United States Navy to pursue his dream of becoming a fighter pilot.
Sadly a minor back injury disqualified
him from a career in Naval Aviation and Luke settled instead for a rewarding career as an intelligence officer which saw him stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, from 2011-2014.
It was in Hawaii that he noticed a lot of military guys using e-cigs as a replacement for cigarettes so he tried them himself, kicked his 10 year smoking habit and has not smoked a regular cigarette since converting to vaping.
In 2013 he opened his first vape store in Iowa, Hawkeye Vapor, while still serving in the Navy but soon selling other people’s products was not enough.
He said: “After receiving multiple e-liquid samples from companies throughout my time owning Hawkeye Vapor Lounge, I realized that there were multiple companies that didn't have great
branding, and the e-liquid wasn't the best.
“I thought that I could provide the vaping industry a better quality product, with branding that people could relate to in the industry so I came up with the idea of a militarized, aviationtype e-liquid brand and Nighthawk Eliquid was the result.
“Owning the vape shop and being on the retail side for a couple of years, I saw what sells. I saw what flavors sell really well, so that was a good kind of inside knowledge as a base for our flavor profiles.”
Luke said the two key things he had to
get right was the flavor profiles for his eliquids (he didn’t simply want to copy what everyone else was doing) and getting the branding just right.
He explained: “On the branding side, our branding has a fighter pilot-type military logo, and I think that best describes my background. I think that it can relate.
Military guys can relate to it. People that go to air shows just to go see the Blue Angels, they can relate to it. It's really edgy. I don't think anybody in the industry has a military-geared brand e-liquid company.”
Luke now plans to visit all the major conventions in a bid to increase the amount of international vape shops that carry the Nighthawk Eliquid range.

In the second of our two-part interview with celebrity blogger and YouTuber Grimm Green, he talks about how he is constantly humbled by the reaction he gets from his YouTube audience.
From the moment Nick Green made his first vaping video his intentions were clear - he wanted to share his passion with others and help educate people about vaping. Behind all of this was another underlying objective - he wanted to help people understand that vaping was a viable, enjoyable and much healthier alternative to smoking.
This is one of the reasons that during his lunch break and at other random times during the day, Nick will be busy at his computer replying to comments and emails he gets from his subscribers and fans.
He also has a strict schedule to ensure that his regular videos get out on time. His Monday videos are shot on Thursdays and edited over the weekend while his Thursday videos are shot on Tuesday and edited on Wednesdays.
Nick said: “Responding to emails and comments is a very important part of my work and I do this as often as I can because if people have taken the trouble to contact me then I want to respond to them.
“I also spend one day a week trying new juices and testing new devices so I can keep up to date with the latest developments in the industry.”
He said vaping was more than just a hobby or a passion to enthusiasts and
smoking traditional cigarettes so the health benefits to be found in switching to vaping cannot be underestimated.
“There is still a lot of confusion among the general public about vaping and this is not helped by a generally sensationalist mainstream media who like to print stories about dangerous chemicals and batteries exploding.
“I really enjoy educating people about the truth about vaping, especially the health aspect and my reward is people telling me that they have started vaping after seeing my videos, even after a life time of smoking.
“It is a truly humbling experience when people say to me: ‘Thank you for saving my life!’
“My response is: ‘You have done the hard part by actually quitting. I was just there to cheer you on.’
described it as a real life saver for many people.
Nick said: “Quitting smoking is one of the hardest things that many people ever have to do and many have found that vaping makes it easy and enjoyable. “Vaping is also at least 95% safer than
“When it comes to people taking the often life-changing decision to quit smoking then I am more than happy to be the cheerleader.”
At every event - and Nick is a regular attendee at vaping events - at least one person will come up to him and explain
how they are alive today because they quit smoking for vaping and then add that it was Nick’s videos that introduced them to vaping.
He also gets daily emails of people recounting similar stories and this drives him on to work even harder to get the message about vaping across to as many people as possible.
Nick added: “The idea that by educating people about vaping can actually help save lives is very intense indeed.
“I am really honoured to have a loyal group of people who regularly watch my videos and then, of course, there are people who are new to vaping who are discovering my channel for the first time which is also very exciting.”
Nick also loves being part of the vaping community and is proud that it is a community of people who generally go out of their way to help others.
He said: “The vaping community have all more or less conquered tobacco and so when people take up vaping they instantly have something in common with everybody else.
“The vaping community also acts as a support forum and that is one of the reasons why it is so important because we can all contribute something and that way we all help each other.
“One of the reasons I go to so many vape events is to spend time with the members of this community. There is a
great fellowship of being able to hang out with people who share the same passion as you.”
Don’t forget to check out Nick’s website - www.grimmgreen.com - where you can get links to his videos and other useful vaping-related content.

I was born in San Fernando Valley California. My family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada shortly following the San Fernando Earthquake of 1971. Upon arrival my father a jeweler by trade, became acquainted with Tony ( relocated from Chicago and the two quickly became close friends. Not much later dad also met Herbie Blitzstein; FAT HERBIE
In later years Tony, Herbie, and officers from the DA’s office were regular visitors of my father’s jewelry store. Amidst the investigation, Tony and Herbie would often pass by DA officers without paying them any mind. They all knew each other.
Once, as a child, I distinctly remember my family eating at Juliano’s, one of Tony Spilotro’s restaurants on the second floor of Chateau Vegas. After racking up an impressive bill Tony personally came to our table and told my father the meal was on the house.
When we first started in the business in late 2012 we had many flavors in separate brands, but as I learned the business I quickly realized that we needed a clear and recognizable flag ship brand to host our best flavors, and that is how and grew and in 2016 the flavor, THE JEWELER
MOB LIQUID is a unique line in contrast to so many existing lines because of the personal history behind our brand, and our pride and commitment to the quality of our products. We also interact with our customers through our on-going find Jimmy Hoffa on the dropper inside any of our bottles you are instantly entitled to $500 USD cash winnings. To date we have had five winners for the You could be next!
It is said that behind every successful man, there is an amazing woman. For Brandi Mazzola is unequivocally that amazing woman. Brandi is the secret ingredient to the creation of these incredible original flavors. She has worked tirelessly day after day to invent these seven unique tastes that we know you’ll love.
Millions of us love vaping. We appreciate the pleasures and health benefits of it compared to smoking. But not everyone is accepting yet, and not all vapers show consideration in their vaping. Decadent Vapours have compiled a guide to help vapers ensure we have good relations with our non-vaping friends.
If a sign forbids vaping, or an authorised individual asks you not to vape, then please do as you are asked. It may feel unreasonable to you, but it's not negotiable.
Please don't do this - especially if you've already been asked not to vape or there are signs saying you shouldn't. If you feel you have to hide it, you're probably breaking the rules anyway.
You wouldn't conspicuously breathe on someone, or (if a smoker) blow smoke in someone's face. Although we know vaping to be basically harmless, we should still not force it on others - and they may not want a full-on blast of the particular flavour you are vaping.
Most vapers were smokers themselves once upon a time, and most current smokers would like to give up. Making them feel bad or defensive about smoking doesn't really help. Sharing your own experience of the benefits of vaping - when asked - is friendlier and more constructive.
We all have our own vaping journey, and some travel further and more widely. Not everyone has - or even wants - the biggest and most up to date hardware. Don't take it upon yourself to tell them that theirs isn’t as good as yours. Advise, discuss, inform, but remember - size isn’t everything!
Many misunderstandings and plain untruths circulate about vaping, and it can be frustrating trying to dispel the myths. But getting irritated is not the answer. Keeping calm and explaining the facts will go a lot further towards improving other people's understanding (and acceptance) of vaping and vapers.
Everyone loves a good vaping event and there are more and more of them every year thankfully. Events are great places to meet fellow vapers, see the latest hardware and juices, swap gossip and catch up on all the latest news. Like every niche group, the vaping community has its own set of terms and slang which may be confusing to those new to vaping and totally unintelligible to those outside the community. Here we continue our look at some of the more popular, and not so popular, terms related to vaping and e-cigarettes. So let’s continue where we left off with our next batch of vaping-related words and phrases.
Inception
Inhale
Joule – A unit of power used in temperature controlled mods. It is equal to the energy transferred (or work done) when applying a force of one newton through a distance of one metre (1 newton metre), or in passing an electric current of one ampere through a resistance of one ohm for one second.
Juice – Another name for e-liquid. Can also be called e-juice.
Knuckle
Kanthal Wire – Trademark for a family of iron-chromiumaluminium (FeCrAl) alloys used in high temperature applications.
Kanthal A1 – Kanthal A1 is the type of wire most used for RBA
MmAh - This is a value called milliampere hours which is a measure of a battery’s capacity in terms of its output in milliamps (1,000 milliamps = 1 amp) over time. This means that a 1,600 mAh battery should deliver 1.6 amps for an hour.
Manual battery - A manual battery has a button which is pressed by the user to activate the battery as opposed to an automatic battery which is operated by air pressure. Virtually all larger models of e-cigarette are manual battery types.
Mechheads - This is the name given to vapers who choose to only only use a mechmod, usually a mechanical tubemod - a tube format APV with no internal wiring or circuitry that is simply a battery holder with a mechanical actuator for a switch.
Mini ecig - Minis are the smallest of the three classes of ecig (mini, mid-size, APV) and are designed to replicate a tobacco cigarette in size and shape. While many smokers who are new to vaping like to use a device which resembles a traditional cigarette in size, shape, and looks, far better performance is available from larger devices which can accommodate larger batteries.
LMod - This refers to any modification of an e-cigarette or one of its component parts. It is also the original term used for a large-battery or removable-battery e-cigarette although the term APV (advanced personal vaporiser) is gaining in popularity to describe such devices and, especially, the higher end devices.
Leaking - Great care is taken in the manufacture of e-cigarettes to prevent accidental leakage of e-liquid but it does happen from time to time. These days most leakage is down to user errorusually adding too much liquid or adding it in the wrong place.
Lithium cells - electronic cigarettes tend to use rechargeable lithium based cells for the battery as they provide high voltages and high charge density, the amount of energy that can be stored in proportion to their size and weight. Some batteries, such as Li-ion cells will need an additional protection circuit to prevent overcharging or over discharge. This circuit can either be part of the e-cigarette device itself or attached to the negative pole of the battery itself.
LR - Low resistance, typically used to describe the most common measurement applied to an atomiser. A pre-built atomiser with a resistance below 2 ohms is considered LR. SR or standard resistance is 2 to 3 ohms and HR or high resistance is 3 to 5 ohms. Resistance is related to power - a LR coil will use more power and create more vapour.
Modding - This refers to the reworking, customising and custom-building of any e-cigarette component or even the whole device.
NNi200/Nickel Wire – Wire that is pure nickel, it has very low resistance and is used with temperature controlled mods.
Nichrome wire - This is the standard coil wire type used in most manufactured atomiser coils. It is made from nickel and chromium with a common ratio of 80% nickel to 20% chromium.
Nicotine – An alkaloid found in tobacco and other plants of the nightshade family. It is available in various strengths in e-liquids but is is also possible to get e-liquid with no nicotine content at all.
Noobs - Also known as newbies, these are people who are new to vaping and can also be used to describe anyone using a mini e-cigarette.
Highlander combines defined, wellexecuted flavors with the performance of a max VG e-liquid to deliver an optimized vaping experience. Produced with care in Denver, CO, USA, Highlander prides itself on meeting the needs of all customers with time-honored quality that satisfies beginner to epicurean tastes. With six, front range inspired recipes to choose from, Highlander Dripping Juice makes it easy for any vaper to discover the flavor that is right for them. As the creator, developer, and mixologist of Highlander, I originally conceived the e-liquid line in December 2013 to fill the demands of an emerging hightemperature vaping market. Many consumers at the time sought an e-liquid product that could stand-up to the punishing conditions of high-temperature vaping without sacrificing taste or desired throatiness. With a passion for helping people quit smoking, I set out to create a line of max vg flavors that provided a consistent flavor from fire to finish. My goal was to bring out the best possible taste that dripping had to offer, and utilize flavor over nicotine to help satisfy the urge to use tobacco products. After personally struggling with tobacco addiction for years, I made the decision to finally quit smoking with the help of an advanced personal vaporizer in 2012. Seeing success with vaping, and the additional benefits such as a regained sense of smell and taste, I desired to
help everyone quit smoking through the association of vaping with pleasant taste and throat. Working for my local vapor retailer, I often enjoyed the sensation felt when successfully assisting a customer find the flavor right for them. The look that rushed across their face as they discovered something that could replace

smoking once and for all always made my day. Learning as much as possible from my retail and in-house e-liquid experience, I resigned from my position at the local store and set out to make a product that would wow customers everywhere around the globe. My background in the vaping industry, along with mentoring from my good friend and business partner, John Moore, has led me to excel in the ability to read the customer's taste profile and match that expectation with an unparalleled vaping experience. Through a long period of

research and development, I created six, high-quality, premium recipes that would appeal to all, but always have one flavor for everyone. No matter what the vaping style, Highlander will never leave an undesirable aftertaste or uncomfortable throatiness, and always leave the customer feeling satisfied and happy with their vape. As I say to everyone I come across who tries Highlander Dripping Juice, if the flavor does not treat you well and provide you with a dense, satisfying, vapor experience, I am not doing my job. Much love to the worldwide vaping community. Together, we can overcome the demon that is tobacco addiction, and preserve life through vaping. There can only be #One.
A little summary of flavor profiles from the creator:
For the fruit lovers, we have Palisade, a grape-soda ice cream float. Or Wildflower, a bright tropical flavor with notes of melon, kiwi, and floral lychee. Not there? What a crisp, refreshing, grannysmith green apple. if you are the type to enjoy richer, more savory flavors, try out Longs Peak, a cinnamon sugar marshmallow cream swirl. Or dig into Golden, a rich lemon poundcake, stuffed with yummy, fruit-flavored, confectionary candy. Are you the type to vape cereal flavors? Perhaps give Red Rocks a try; a delicious apricot intro, fruit cereal mid, and slightly tart, watermelon finish.

The trailblazing director of Rule 42 is Brett Weiss; as well as founding the Rule 42 Foundation, he also spearheads charitable campaigns donating funds to Heald Hearts Foundation, FuZion Charities, Not My Kid and the Eric M. Kuchinski Foundation.
Following months of research, Rule 42 discovered that a number of e-cigarette users were also either in recovery or had alcohol or drug dependence issues. A majority of these ex-smokers were also dealing with health ramifications of smoking related illnesses, which struck a chord with Brett, who said: “The struggle is real, having seen close friends and family go through addiction battles. We wanted to give something back to the community that we’re so proud to be a part of. Our company ethos is to help
those whose lives have been affected by addiction and we cannot wait to donate more funds through the Rule 42 e-liquid lines.”
Word spread like wildfire in the vaping community about Brett’s altruistic mission. Inspired by his considerate nature in wanting to help those who needed it the most, renowned brands including Fuzion Vapor and Beantown Vapor came on board to form the E-Collective. This select group is made up of leading members of the vape community who create beautifully handcrafted e-liquids for Rule 42’s gallant crusade.
Shane Johnson of Fuzion Vapor who created Jag said: “Addiction and recovery are especially personal since it has directly affected my life and people we know. When I heard Brett’s plan it was a no-brainer. I’m truly honoured to be associated with a great cause and fantastic group of people who share the
same beliefs I do.”
Clinton Legg, owner of G2 Vapor and creator of Super Gramps said: “This is the first joint venture where money goes directly to those who need it. I am very proud to be involved, as I have the chance to give back and help others on the road to recovery.”
Joseph Cotto from Cotto’s Revenge who created Plunder for Rule 42 said: “Brett’s idea was a practical and innovative one. This project is much more than just juice and business – it's an opportunity to make a difference worldwide.”
Sicboy who created Parodies said: “It feels good to give back, especially for such a fantastic cause.”
Steven Sapir who created Beantown Vapor said: “Working with reputable and responsible vendors that I respect is an honour and privilege. We have the very special opportunity to make top shelf
whilst helping families affected by substance abuse – that is something we can get behind with heart and soul. I lost my best friend of 25 years to the disease. I would do anything to help others to potentially avoid that pain or
make dealing with it a bit easier. The e-liquids themselves are fantastic. People not only buy them for quality and flavour, but also with the knowledge that their purchase gives a helping hand to folks that truly need it.”
From Brett’s compassionate desire to give back to the community, a whole movement is now occurring across continents. Rule 42 e-liquids are stocked in over 100 stores across five countries.
Not a company to rest on its laurels, Rule 42 have exciting plans for the future; by the end of 2016, they aim to donate $150,000 directly to their charities and have a presence in over 400 stores.

t this juncture in human history, it is safe to say that Vaping has created a shockwave slowly sending vibrations throughout our social reality. Quite simply, Vaping is stirring things up, mixing around the pieces of ingredients for our status quo recipe. As one Vaper expressed to another, "we are swiftly producing a fresh sensation sweeping all over the nation. News flash, warn the people!
Considering this, over the past several years, a few decent short documentary films specifically about the Vaping culture have surfaced and gained very minimal and perhaps meaningful exposure, but I think it may be time for filmmaking to play a more impactful role within the Vaping culture, shining bright in a strong everlasting positive light. For example, the feature-length documentary, A Billion Lives, is now finished and entering into film festivals on a global level with full support from countless vaping organizations as well as thousands of individual vapers excited for it’s release. As a matter of fact, I am certainly hoping to see this as soon as possible as it is a great display of courage and honesty. What’s more exciting than a feature length vaping documentary? Great question. The answer is, “a sociological research project in the form of a short ethnographic documentary film.”
Coincidentally, this is something I am working on currently, with some help by my side.
Filmmaking & Vaping go hand-in-hand. Observing the Vaping Community, then documenting them, and ultimately presenting this educational data as relatable material that is visually stimulating in scope. This short film can eventually serve as a tool for educating academia. At the very least, it can serve
as a tool for influencing public opinion on many of the aspects that makeup the Vaping-process and the Vape Community as a whole. This is exactly what I intend to do. I am currently at the very beginning of the pre-production phase of shooting a short ethnographic documentary film all about "The Vapers" who populate the majority of our contemporary and advanced community of Vaping.
Before discussing what this film is about, I believe it's much more advantageous to first address what exactly the film is not about. This is not going to be a film that is a "DIY" walk through and it will certainly not be a Vaping 101 tutorial, nor is it an attempt at sensationalizing political argumentative bullet points pertaining to anti-vaping propaganda.
This film will be attempting to answer the question "Who are the Vapers?" This will be more of an homage to the Vapers accompanied by an observational study inside the vaping community, a well represented portrayal of each vaper. A collection of face-to-face in-depth interviews will serve as the primary research approach, ultimately producing evidence for exploring the motivations and overall desires which permeate through the Vapers' psyche.
The interviews will consist of a series of non-confrontational questions, approximately 20-30 inquiries into the Vaper's Vape-lifestyle. A pleasant interactive exchange between myself and all those progressive souls who choose to travel another route, one that is often less traveled, clearly those who
“THIS FILM WILL BE ATTEMPTING TO ANSWER THE QUESTION “WHO ARE THE VAPERS?”
decide Vaping is a logical option for nicotine intake. However, vapers also include those who use 0mg nicotine so the intake of this particular substance doesn't matter nearly as much as what Vaping does for ordinary individuals. Nicotine or no nicotine, Vapers will continue to Vape, exhaling animated clouds of harmless vapour. Vaping is an artform just as much as anything else in the artistic genre all due to the fact that Vaping is another type of human expression, in which this claim raises other significant questions, such as what does Vaping represent? This is another broad question, yet will play a pivotal role in which my short film will attempt to answer “Who are the Vapers” concisely. When quitting the act of smoking is the end goal, many would certainly suggest that Vaping is undeniably a harm reduction method. However, among our wider society, Vaping has developed into something far more controversial than necessary. That's why I mentioned that the overall focus will not be politically driven. Those who are interviewed might just so happen to touch on the subjects related to the political portion of the anti-Vaping saga, even though I'm not including any questions that are a reflection of any political agenda. Not to mention, I'm planning to interview Vape Shop Staff Members & the Ownership as well as randomly selected customers willing to
share their stories.
Altogether, my hypothesis is that most vapers being interviewed will undoubtedly talk a lot about why and how Vaping is better tasting, much safer and also less expensive than smoking traditional cigarettes. But what is more important is that I believe during these interviews vapers will, without a doubt, have a compelling emotionally-charged big story as to how and why they became a vaper. The keywords are compelling and emotionally charged because often times when I speak with doing some choose to VAPE, their stories are riveting and full of redemption. Therefore, my hypothesis to this social research project, via ethnographic documentary filmmaking, is that we will very easily create much more empathy among the general public for those who belong to the Vaping community. Social approval is necessary feature for our Vaping cause and mission to maintain its autonomy. (TO BE CONTINUED)...
“MY HYPOTHESIS IS THAT MOST VAPERS BEING INTERVIEWED WILL UNDOUBTEDLY TALK A LOT ABOUT WHY AND HOW VAPING IS BETTER TASTING, MUCH SAFER AND ALSO LESS EXPENSIVE THAN SMOKING TRADITIONAL CIGARETTES.”

J-wraps opened 4 years ago as the inventors of the mod wraps/ skins company and are known as the original mod wraps company. The company started with 4 employees and now employs 26 people. Q) Everyone reading Vapouround tends to know their stuff about E liquids. So what exactly is Canavape®?
I thought this would be this might be the first question! In a nutshell Canavape® is an E liquid with a big difference. We use hemp oils which contain a legal cannabinoid called Cannabidiol or CBD! Cannabidiol is one half of the two main known Cannabinoids CBD & THC. Our products are THC free making them 100% legal but packed full of natural CBD from full spectrum hemp oils. CBD is the non-psychoactive compound which naturally occurs in Cannabis and Hemp. This naturally occurring cannabionoid has been the subject of thousands of independent studies. The outcome of studies shows that CBD offers numerous health and medicinal benefits. Due to the high levels of CBD found in hemp oils our customers can now experience the potential benefits legally and while doing so not have to get "stoned"
Q)How did Canavape come about?
As a long-term vaper, I noticed a lack of quality (or any) nicotinefree products offering benefits to wellbeing. At the same time I suffer with a lower spine disorder which causes chronic pain. With that in mind, I knew I wanted to create something the market hadn't seen yet, a product that relaxed and incorporated the goodness from the Cannabis or hemp plant. In doing so we have created a huge range of liquids with multiple strengths of CBD and available in over 10 flavours.
Q How has the journey been so far? It's been hard work but also rewarding! I started the company from my London flat with alot of help from my girlfriend Emily, so thanks Emily! Obviously any new venture has challenges - the main one for us now is up scaling due to demand and producing products in our London clean room, it's a big step up but when you have a product that works, it all comes together. We're excited. You have to dream big after all!
Q) What are your plans for 2016/2017?
Where should I start! We became a ltd company in 2014 having already sold CBD E Liquid for over a year. Being the first company to bring such a product to market in the UK also bought with it rapid growth due to an exploding market. We quickly became a manufacturer our own CBD E Liquids, now with a global presence and rave reviews. Since then we have gone from strength to strength and now enjoy working with other companies to bring their alternative line of liquids to market. We continue to sell our own products directly online and have been wholesaling for well over a year now. Our products are available on Amazon Prime (via a distributor), available online through 3rd party companies and our retail presence is now growing quickly. Being a 0% nicotine company has meant less impact from the TDP regulations and 2016 is shaping up to be
a very exciting year. As I mentioned, we are currently stepping up our facility with the addition of a brand spanking new class 7 clean room as well as plans for a London office within the next 6 months. From there we hope to expand our product range as well as offering testing and analytical services. Looking to 2017 we hope to be producing our own Hemp oils from crops grown organically in the south west of England. I'm excited about this.
Q) Where are you based?
We're located in Buckinghamshire at the moment. We have a good size office and warehouse. Our sister company and clean room facilities are a stone's throw away in North London. Due to our rapid growth we are most likely relocating this year as well as adding more staff to the team, which is an exciting process. The office, as you can imagine is always a haze.
Q) How can people get in touch and find out more? We love to talk and are a hands on team. Drop us a line or send us an email. info@canavape.co.uk
A) What's your favourite liquid and set-up at the moment? We are currently vaping a range from one of our customers. The range is called house of plumes by Project Vape. Our personal favourite right now is called Jester... A mix of 8 or so fruits which gives the most "out of this world" taste! Being an Ex Smoker of 17 years and now a full blown vaping enthusiast we love trying out all that on offer as well as using our own products. We are also loving Metronome from Cloud Chasers: Mixing it 50/50 with our 500MG Medivapour CBD E Liquid: makes for an awesomely relaxing vape. I'm currently using the DNA200 hero box and blasting out clouds using the Arctic V8 tank! The great thing about our range is that you can use almost any E cig as well as mix up the liquids with your preferred vape range!

CDA designs, manufactures and sells labelling and filling machines and engineered packaging lines. The company operates in various industries using self-adhesive labels on its products. The company distributes its lines in 105 countries. In 2014, CDA reported a revenue of 7 236 982€ and has 75 employees.
The market of e-liquids expanded exponentially in France in 2011 from 4 million euros to 39 millions euros in just a year. Always on the edge of innovation, Pascal and Dominique thought that all the savoir-faire CDA gathered in packaging lines could be useful to e-liquids manufacturers.
In April 2014, E-fill was born, a complete solution for the filling, capping and labelling of e-liquids bottles.
Equipped with a peristaltic pump, the e-fill achieves a dosing accuracy of +/-0,5% at a pace up to 25 products/minute. The liquid changeover is easy: in less than two minutes the cleaning process is completed, enabling quick changes in the batches produced, with no risks of flavours mixing.
