Chairman’s Report
I hope you all have had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year’s break. December saw opportunities to meet up in a number of branch social events – the Christmas Noggin, informal Christmas Social, Old Cars, Bikes and Coffee, Children’s Christmas Picnic and the Boxing Day picnic. The informal Christmas Social was a success and hopefully will once again be on our branch calendar. The Children’s Christmas Picnic was back at Cutler Park again and I received positive comments following this. Many thanks are given to my family and the non-committee members who supported me on the day to ensure that the children could enjoy a traditional Christmas picnic. The Boxing Day picnic at Ouruhia Domain was a relaxing day with family and friends and thanks are given to Judy and Don Bennetts for organizing this. I have enjoyed the photographs from the Vero Rally posted on Facebook and look forward to hearing about the attendees’ adventures. It sounds as though it was a successful event following the hard work put in by Greg Terrill and his rally committee. Have you sent Rod your vote for or against the proposed change of our club’s logo? It is important that you do so. With Omicron in our midst and once again living under the red traffic light system, it is more than ever important that we abide by the rules. This month’s noggin will go ahead, but with 100 maximum numbers, vaccine passes obligatory, logging in, social distancing and wearing masks etc. We all know the rules now and understand that although a bit of a pain, it is necessary to keep us all safe from this dreaded virus. A check for the passes and numbers attending will be held at the door. After the first 100, the Barn will be used as an overflow if necessary. Happy and safe motoring in 2022 — Leigh
