Secretary’s Report

Just when things are slowly starting to wind up again along comes Omicron, well not much we can do but just carry on taking all the care we can with social distancing, wearing our masks and where possible getting our jabs up to date to protect each other. Remember no Pass no entry. Membership renewals for Nov 2021/ Oct 2022, just a reminder if you have not paid your subscription yet you will not receive the Hub by email or printed/ posted version going forward. There are seven printed / posted copies not paid for at the time of writing this report. This was included on your Club Membership renewal $41.60 if you were receiving it during 2021. NEW LOGO: after a rip- roaring start on the voting running neck and neck we have suddenly gone very quiet. Obviously the majority of our branch members approx. 1150 couldn’t care less one way or the other or have some other deep seated reason for not wanting to divulge which side they bat for. Come on if you have an opinion let me know so I can have a clear direction to vote for on behalf of our branch at the March Exc Meeting. You only have 3 weeks to 21st Feb to let me know. And on that note hopefully Lynda and I are off on holiday for a couple of weeks, fingers crossed. Regards Rod

Proposed Logo Change

Those who have their email address registered with the club, will have received an email from the Management Committee with an attachment presentation explaining the reasoning, the path to date and the latest logo design. https://vcc.org.nz/brand/ All members were asked to discuss this and inform their branch delegate how they wish them to vote at the March Executive meeting. To this end, you are all asked to contact our branch delegate (Rod Thrower) either by email canterbury@vcc.org.nz or by mail P O Box 11-082, Sockburn, Christchurch (No telephone calls please.) stating that you would like him at the March Executive Meeting to vote either For the change to adopt the new logo to:

Or Against the change of logo and keep the status quo.

You will have reasons for voting either way of course, but please, this is what Rod will be asked to vote on at the meeting – so, no reasons for your vote, or comments on the design etc, just for or against the change. (Joint members will be able to have individual votes.) Please get your votes in to Rod by 21 February. If you know members who do not have email, please discuss this with them. Leigh
