Hello Monsters!

I hope you all are having a fantastic summer so far! It’s been about 3 weeks since summer started, so I hope that you all have been attending service events, keeping up all those hours. It’s been quite a busy month following the June DCM + OTC and the summer social, we had just recently held. However, if you still haven't had the chance to go to service events yet, don’t worry! We still have plenty of service events coming up and we would love, for you all to come join us. We are constantly achieving our goals with the help of those who have been attending service events, and we really appreciate your hard work and dedication to the club.

With love and service,

Hi KEY-uties!

So far, my term as president has been quite busy. However, I know that with the help of my board officers and the club that this work will be paying off; the future holds many exciting events and opportunities for us as a division and a club. Thus, multiple meetings have occured during the summer to secure these plans. I know that you all will be just as excited as we are when we present to you these events, and I can’t wait to continue seeing your smiling, happy faces! Speaking of smiling faces… I can only see them during the summer if you attend SERVICE! Attending service events is not only a great way to earn service hours before you get busy with school work, but it is also a great way for us as board members to further interact with you to become more unified as a club. If you weren’t planning on attending any service… SHAME ON YOU (just kidding)... Remember that carpooling is always an option when attending service, and that a new option to request a ride has been added to the service sheet. I hope to continue seeing you all out there, and know that your Vice Presidents have been working very hard to find them for you. Don’t put their work to waste!!!

With roaring love for you all, Your President <3

Hey! My name is Erika Zheng and I am a part of Sheldon Key Club. There had been many great memories I’ve made so far in my Key Club journey, but one of my favorite memories within Key Club would be during a service event called the Spaghetti Feed. This event happened during the end of the year where my cousin and I decided to go because one of the officer had reached out to us due to the lack of volunteers. It was very different from the usual marathon and races I usually helped out for. From setting up and decorating the tables to breaking them down and sweeping the floor. Work was actively needed to be done. During the time, when I was serving to the customers, many of them were really nice and friendly. I enjoyed the serving and making small conversations with them. Aside from that, I’ve also gotten to know and get closer to the other volunteers who attended. Before dinner started, we were fed with a lot of spaghetti and in that time it allowed us to sit and talked with one another. Lots of laughter was heard as many jokes were cracked. And we surely all became friends at the end of the day when we were chatting away while waiting for our rides to come. 6

Hi Key Club! My name is Annika Tamaki and I joined Key Club in May and have loved it ever since! I have always wanted to join key club and, after some convincing, decided to open up my schedule and join. Everyone I know has had such a positive and fun experience in Key Club that I felt I had to join. I love the values behind Key Club, the service, and friendships formed through Key Club. At the May DCM, I loved the participation and socializing between different schools. This really brought a sense of togetherness and community, which I value and find important, while doing service. Additionally, I realized how easy it is to serve and help in the community. It has really motivated me to try to do everything I can to take on the task to help others. I can be a leader in my own community just by helping others every day, whether that be at service events on Saturday mornings or by holding the door open for the person behind me. Any little action helps and can make a difference. 7

S E R V I C E

I enjoy doing service because it is a way for me to get out of my shell. Not only do I help the community, I also create new bonds. I like to help others and meet new people. To me, service means doing something for someone else without expecting any reward or gain. It is an opportunity for me to create new friendships and to meet new people.

THANK YOU

I’ve appreciate the dedication Travis had put into key club. He goes to majority if not all events and consumed the most hours so far in key club. Not just that but he is also actively game with other members and his random humor makes all of us crack up. Even though Travis could be quiet sometimes, he can be nice to hang out with when you get to know him.
