Happy New Year Sheldon Key Club! I hope you all had a wonderful break and that you all received plenty of presents. Since it is the new year, I wanted to remind you all of the amazing and memorable things we’ve done together as a club beginning with our first meeting and our first social. We have so much memories together and so many more to fulfil. I wanted to thank you all for an amazing year so far and wish for many more good things to come.

As you know, DCON an annual district wide event is approaching fast, so if you are interesting in attending make sure to contact one of the officers. At DCON, you can attend many workshops and learn about the different things within key club. There are also many fun things planned throughout the event such as keynote speakers or performers, distinguished awards, and so much more!

In monstrous spirit,

Velalena Moua

C K I : S A N TA ’ S G I F T O F G

Although I’ve been in key club for 3 years now, this was my first time going to LTC. I didn’t know what to expect at all and I thought that it would be similar to RTC and OTC. However, when we were there, I got to learn a lot about what each position really did. I also got to hear what each IP’s of each position and the current ones felt like and how they started

My name is Kiefer Salimo and my favorite event so far would have to be the CKI. The things that I really enjoyed about it were the activities and meeting new people. What we did in CKI was basically split up into groups and go to stations and do different activities for each station. My favorite station would have to be when our group did the icebreaker because it was a lot of fun playing games and I got to know more about my group. The other thing that I liked about it was

out. It really made the officers seem like human and I felt that I could connect to them because when I ran for office I felt the same way. It was just reassuring that no matter what you feel while running for office, you’re not alone. I highly recommend YOU to run for office if you’re currently interested. DON’T BE AFRAID TO DO IT.

KEVIN SALIMO CHRISTMAS SOCIAL 2K18 Good afternoon, my name is Kevin Josh Salimo and I will be writing about the Thanksgiving Social (in a roundabout way). Unlike the Christmas Social, the Thanksgiving Social felt more organized in keeping everyone together and engaged; however I am not saying that the Christmas Social was unenjoyable by any means, but instead the Thanksgiving Social more entertaining. As a freshman it was a bit awkward at first since I did not know many other Key Club members, but as time went on I felt more comfortable thanks to the great hospitality of the other club members and of course having some of my friends come to the social as well. It was great seeing people bring food for the Social, and good food too, that made appreciate the club members even if they just went to the store to go

buy it. After getting food my friends and I played Uno by ourselves while the rest of the club went ate somewhere else; despite us freshman being “shy, Erika a board member approached us and asked us to join the others, and I was shocked to see that they wanted us to get to know the other members so much that they invited us over to join them. Granted maybe she was asked forced to do it, but in any case it was still a nice thing to do. Later on in the night we played a game of Mafia, and the Lap game which was VERY revealing. However in the end I would say that the Socials help members of Key Club get to know one another, and become comfortable with each other.
