Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) Forging ahead with a win-win model To accelerate the pace of construction of projects, the Government of India introduced the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). As the infrastructure business is capital-intensive, this model was also launched to de-risk the developers and lenders from the drawbacks of the earlier models. At the intersection of EPC and annuity models, HAM promises an assured revenue in the form of annuities, interest on reducing balance of completion cost (BCC) and O&M payments linked to inflation in the operational phase. RKC has ventured into HAM with an aim to have operational assets under its portfolio. The company is actively seeking potential opportunities to expand in other geographies.
