MEET AUTHOR
PATRICIA J WILLIAMS
Prophetess Patricia J Williams the founder and CEO of Faith In God International Ministries is a very tenacious when it comes to pursuing her dreams. As an Ordained Prophetess she has pursued her dream of higher education and has obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration and is currently working on her PHD from Grand Canyon University. She hosts a talk show called the power of prayer every Monday at 5:30 pm CST on blogtalkradio and also hosts an intercessory prayer line. With all the many talents & gifts she has also found time to pursue her dream of writing. She has already written three books entitled, The Endurance of Pleasing God, Chastisement through the Love of God & her newly released book, The Power of a True Intercessor. Catching up with this busy woman I asked her some very important questions about her writing career and her accomplishment of being an author.
Q. When did you first realize that God was calling you to write books? A. We all know we have gifts but I never knew I had a gift of writing. I always kept a journal of incidents that were good or bad that happened in my life. So one day I was doing some spring cleaning and I found one of my journals and I begin to thumb through it. While I was standing in the bedroom God said, “Write a book”. Someone needs to hear your story. Someone needs to be delivered and set free. And as they say, “The rest is history”. Q. Which book was the hardest to write and why? A. Two of them were hard but the hardest one was, The Endurance of Pleasing God. That one was hard because I was 15
coming out of tradition. Traditional mindset and a traditional Baptist Church were my grandparents were two of the forerunners or founders and basically a family church .It was hard because I had to relive the incidents of mocker, slandering and loneliness when I left the church. The people acted like I had a disease. Q. Why did you decide to write? A. I was hesitant of writing but I had so many people come to me asking how to get tree from tradition. They were going through the same thing of being stuck in their family church. So to me that was my confirmation to go forth. Now God is constantly giving me new revelation of situations and ideas to write.
Q. What was the greatest challenge concerning writing which one of your books? A. My personal testimonies of the incidents that happened to in my life was the greatest challenge of writing The Endurance of Pleasing God because of the persecution and backlash I received from my family, friends, and members of the church when I left the church to pursue God’s will for my life and Chastisement Through the Love of God, when God will chastise me for not doing His will because I thought He didn’t love me but I found out He did because He loves me enough to correct me. My greatest challenge is opening my life to the world. I basically don’t want people to judge me for my past but to see me as a living testimony, knowing that if God did it for me, He will do it for them also. Q. What did it take for you to complete the task of writing your books? A. It took perseverance and dedication. I had this thought in the back of my mind, I have to complete this book because somebody else needs to hear this and be set free. It wasn’t a money venture, it was a soul winning setting the captives free venture. Q. What strategy did you used to market your book? A. My books personal website, Pinterest, Facebook and any social network that was available. I also contacted the local television station, newspaper, networking and the local bookstore. Also money is important so that you

can invest back into your product. It doesn’t have to be a lot but set an amount aside to allow your products to go beyond the state you reside. Have your products place in magazines, blogs, etc. Q. What was most challenging about getting your book published? A. Finding the right publisher that understood my vision and knew exactly how I wanted it. I wasn’t looking for anyone to add or take away. I wanted them to do the job for the money that I had invested. I also wanted it to be excellent. Why? Because we serve an excellent God and I am representing Him. Basically I prayed about it. Q. How did your family & friends feel about your accomplishment? A. They were shocked because being a quiet girl that never told her business they didn’t think I had it in me. They were very supportive and proud of me. They understood the separation from my church for that ten year season. Q. What would you recommend to first time writers? A. Never give up on your dreams and visions. Don’t allow negativity to get into your spirit or be around you. You can achieve and have whatever you want just keep God first.
