EDITOR’S CORNER ell the launching of Magnify Him Online Magazine went off with few problems or mishaps. The response from the first issue was overwhelming and I was so proud of each person that contributed to our first issue. I especially want to give honor to Mr. Vernon Spears (Publisher and CEO),for all the hard work he put into the graphic design and layout of the magazine. It was him working to make the deadline, and we did push him up to the last minute. As we are preparing for the second edition of Magnify Him Online Magazine, I am overly excited about it. This issue will include some added features to it, some new writers and new articles that will be more informative as to what is going on in the gospel arena. Much effort is being put into this issue to perfect some things that needed polishing as well as bringing forth more ideas to help enhance your reading experience. This issue will also include a special article dealing with recent events that have been occurring around the country and the world. We are seeing these situations increasing rather than being defused. The situations call for a meeting of those that can come together and bring about a peaceful solution to the civil unrest that has developed between the black race and the law enforcement agencies. Thinking on what has developed over these last months I am reminded of the fight that has been an ongoing battle through the years for the equality and equal justice for those of the black race. More than a race issue this is a heart issue. It stems from years of hatred and oppression as well as violence and brutality that have been inflicted upon one person of the human race toward another. It is the mounting pressure of not fighting for a color but for fighting for the right to

be treated with respect and dignity like all other persons of the human race. It’s the fight to say that we are all created from the same thing the dust of the ground and one person of dust is no better than another person of dust. Their fight is not about black pride but the fight is to be viewed as more than a color or a race, but that all men are created equal therefore no one regardless of their race or color should be stripped of their dignity and respect because their skin color is different. It is the fight to be accepted beyond our outer covering but rather to be judged by the character that we display. Abraham Lincoln freed their bodies but he couldn’t free the mindset of the other races that have formed an opinion of the black race because of the hatred that was taught and inbreed in them by their ancestors. Martin Luther King, Jr., fought diligently for the day that he could see us come together and embrace each other because of the content of our character and to stop hating because of the color of the skin. He died without seeing that dream come true. Even today the struggle and fight is yet going on. We are constantly at war with each other because of prejudices and discrimination. Instead of us as a country trying to come together and come to a peaceful conclusion we are yet fighting. There will always be this battle until we can uproot the preconceived ideas that have been passed down through generations of the differing races. Each race blames the other for the reason that they are at odds with each other when in reality the problem is not the race the problem is the hate that has been taught to each other by their forefathers that continues to rage even until this day. In the words of Rodney King, “Can’t we all just get along!”.
THE LIFE & TIMES OF
LEGENDARY GOSPEL MUSIC PIONEER

Just let me live my life And let it be pleasing, Lord to Thee And should I gain any praise, Let it go to Calvary.
With His blood, He has saved me With His power, He has raised me. To God be the glory For the things he has done.
A ndraĂŠ Edward Crouch,
born July 1, 1942, was a prolific gospel singer, songwriter, arranger, record producer and pastor. Referred to as "the father of modern gospel music" by contemporary Christian and gospel music professionals, Crouch was known for his compositions "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power", "My Tribute (To God Be the Glory)" and "Soon and Very Soon". In secular music, he was known for his collaborative work during the 1980s with Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Quincy Jones as well as conducting choirs that sang on the Michael Jackson hit "Man in the Mirror" and Madonna's "Like a Prayer". Crouch was noted for his talent of incorporating contemporary secular music styles into the gospel music he grew up with. His efforts in this area were what helped in paving the way for early American contemporary Christian music during the 1960s and 1970s. Crouch's original music arrangements were heard in the films The Color Purple and Disney's The Lion King, as well as the NBC television series Amen. Awards received by him include seven Grammy Awards, being inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1998, and receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2004. Francisco, California to parents Benjamin and Catherine Crouch. When he was young, Crouch's parents owned and operated Crouch Cleaners, a drycleaning business, as well as a restaurant business in Los Angeles, California. In addition to running the family's businesses, Crouch's parents had a Christian street-preaching ministry and a hospital and prison ministry. When Crouch was 11, his father was invited to speak for several weeks at a small church as a guest preacher. Crouch's father and the church's congregation encouraged the young boy to play during the services. At the piano, Crouch found the key in which the congregation was singing and started to play. After this, Crouch honed his piano-playing skills and, in time, wanted to write his own music. When he was 14 years old, he wrote his first Gospel song. Crouch's first group musical effort was formed in 1960 as the Church of God in Christ Singers. The group included future recording artist and session musician Billy Preston on keyboards and was the first to record the Crouch's song "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power". The song's popularity grew following the initial 1969 recording, becoming a standard in churches and hymnals worldwide.

Grammy-winning gospel singer Andrae Crouch sings during a September 1996 service at Christ Memorial Church in Pacoima, Calif. Crouch followed his father, who founded the church in 1951, and brother, who died in April 1996, to become the pastor at the church. After causing some controversy within the COGIC which at the time did not allow women pastorates He eventually shared the position with his twin sister, Sandra. (AP)
While attending Valley Junior College in the San Fernando Valley to become a teacher, he formed gospel music group "The Disciples" in 1965 with fellow musicians Perry Morgan, Reuben Fernandez, and Bili Thedford. The group became a frequent attraction at "Monday Night Sing" concerts in southern California put on by Audrey Mieir, a Christian minister and music composer who frequently sponsored new Christian music groups. Following Mieir's introduction of Crouch to Manna Music Publishing's founders Tim and Hal Spencer, Manna published Crouch's song "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power", written when he was 15 years old. The Spencers helped launch Crouch's recording career by introducing them to Light Records
founder and prolific Christian songwriterRalph Carmichael. After the addition of Sherman Andrus to The Disciples, Light Records recorded and released the group's first album, Take the Message Everywhere, in 1968. Following the group's first album release, Crouch's twin sister, Sandra, joined The Disciples in 1970 after Fernandez' departure. Two more albums would follow, Keep On Singin and Soulfully, before a major change in the group's lineup in 1972. When Andrus left The Disciples to join The Imperials he was replaced by singer Danniebelle Hall. More musicians were being added and the group's membership by the early 70s included Fletch Wiley on trumpet, Harlan Rogers on keyboards, Hadley Hockensmith on guitar, and Bill
Maxwell on drums. The group appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in 1972 and to sold out crowds at Carnegie Hall in 1975 and 1979. By 1985 they had also performed at the Hollywood Bowl and toured 68 countries. Crouch's most popular songs from this period include "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power", "Through It All", "Bless His Holy Name", "Soon and Very Soon", "Jesus is the Answer", and "My Tribute". After The Disciples disbanded in 1979, Crouch continued on with a solo career. His backing ensemble included Howard Smith, Linda McCrary, Táta Vega, and Kristle Murden along with The Andraé Crouch Singers. Joe Sample, Wilton Felder, Dean Parks, David Paich, Phillip Bailey, Stevie Wonder, El Debarge, and other secular artists were included in Crouch's recording sessions. With former Disciples drummer-turnedproducer Bill Maxwell, Crouch coproduced projects for The Winans, Danniebelle Hall, and Kristle Murden. Many musical acts and solo performers covered his more popular works, including Elvis Presley with I've Got Confidence. In 1986, Crouch composed the theme music for the Sherman Hemsley sitcom, Amen , sung by Vanessa Bell Armstrong. He was featured in the 1995Warren Chaney docudrama, America: A Call to Greatness. In 2006 Crouch released Mighty Wind, a 40th anniversary album featuring guest performances by Lauren Evans, Crystal Lewis, Karen Clark Sheard, Táta Vega, and Marvin Winans.

Crouch has been credited as a key figure in Jesus music of the 1960s and 1970s and, as a result, helping to bring about contemporary Christian music into the church. As well, he is also credited with helping to bridge the gap between black and white Christian music and revolutionizing the sound of urban Gospel music. Though sometimes criticized for diluting the Christian message by using contemporary music styles, his songs have become staples in churches and hymnals around the world and have been recorded by mainstream artists such as Elvis Presley and Paul Simon.

His affiliation with Light Records was instrumental in bringing Walter and Tramaine Hawkins, Jessy Dixon and The Winans to the label, from where they all enjoyed successful gospel music careers. In 1996, Crouch and his music were honored on the Grammy Awardwinning CD, Tribute: The Songs of Andraé Crouch, released by Warner Bros. Records. The album featured a wide range of artists performing Crouch's classic songs and featured the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Take 6, Twila Paris, and Michael W. Smith. Crouch and his sister Sandra had a friendship and music relationship with Michael Jackson. In 1987, the Andraé Crouch Choir sang background vocals along with Siedah Garrett, Glen Ballard, and The Winans on Jackson's hit single "Man in the Mirror" from the Bad album. The Andraé Crouch Singers were also featured on the songs "Keep the Faith" and "Will You Be There" from Jackson's 1991Dangerous album. On Jackson's HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I project in 1995, the Andraé Crouch Choir is heard on "Earth Song." Crouch's composition, "Soon and Very Soon" was performed

by the Andraé Crouch Choir at the public memorial service for Jackson held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on July 7, 2009. On November 12, 1982, Crouch was arrested in Los Angeles for possession of cocaine after being stopped for erratic driving. Sheriff's deputies discovered a substance in the vehicle which Crouch said was instant chicken soup powder. After consenting to a search, he was found to be carrying a vial of cocaine in his pocket. Crouch was arrested and released several hours later on $2,500 bail, maintaining the drugs belonged to a friend who had been staying in his apartment. Police declined to press charges. Between 1993 and 1994 Crouch suffered the loss of his father, mother, and older brother.[ After his father's death, Crouch and his sister took over the shared duty of senior pastor at the church his parents founded, Christ Memorial Church of God in Christ in Pacoima, California. Throughout his life, Crouch struggled with dyslexia, sometimes memorizing words by the shapes of their combination of letters. He often drew simple pictures to help him comprehend words and write songs.

Crouch was hospitalized in early December 2014 for pneumonia and congestive heart failure. As a result, his December tour was postponed. He was hospitalized again on January 3, 2015 in Los Angeles, as the result of a heart attack. Crouch died five days later at Northridge Hospital Medical Center on January 8, 2015, at the age of 72. On the same day, his sister, Sandra, released the following statement: "Today my twin brother, womb-mate and best friend went home to be with the Lord. Please keep me, my family and our church family in your prayers. I tried to keep him here but God loved him best.”

I don't think there is anyone who inspired me more, growing up, than Andraé Crouch. The depth of his influence on Christian music is incalculable. We all owe him so much and I'll forever be grateful for the times we got to work together.“ -Michael W. Smith

GUEST CONTRIBUTOR
People of God, after 2000 thousand years in this new dispensation there has been mandated more than enough ways of life that have been promised to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It would seem that we as a people have yet to walk in the more than enough way of life. Now, why is that? We simply disobeyed Gods Dominion minded take over plan for God divine sovereign glory. To be honest with you people of God, we are truly to blame. We as a called out chosen people will have to ask God for His forgiveness, and simply repent according to 2 Chronicles 7:14. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and I will heal their land. People of the most High God, as Pastor of Kingdom Joint Heirs Dominion Minded Ministry, I am constantly thinking on the things and works of God. We as a people have yet to take a real part in developing to live in Gods glory. The deeper I have gone into the understanding of the Word of God; I began to think even more deeply on the lack of Kingdom economic stability among the people of God! As I began to study the divine Word of God to actually find out why, we as a people are yet in the very dismal un-stabilizing, un-developing un-productive position in the world. This
had truly hit me, and it hit me hard and heavy in my heart mind and soul. While studying the Word of God I have come upon multiple divine principles the Body of Christ has basically been paying no attention too, and truly completely ignoring what God has spoken to us in His word. The Kingdom Dominion minded mandate that His son Christ Jesus had so wonderfully reclaimed; the Dominion Power of Attorney that Adam had lost in the garden of Eden that gave us back the blood dripping proxy to represent Him as His earthly ambassadors once again in the earth, thus allowing His called out children to take Dominion over the whole entire planet earth (Genesis 1:28-30) that truly belongs to God Himself (Psalms 24:1). I would like to take the time to share with you concerning the reason why we as a people have economical and provisional lack although we have truly been called out of this worlds system and way of doing things in the Body of Christ. In this process I shall show you through the divine Word of truth, how we the people of God have gone completely wrong, and how we as a people can get back on track to get it right by placing ourselves in divine position by activating the “Kingdom Of God Dominion Minded Joint Heirs Economical Unifying System Plan..
First I will come to show you the spiritual and mental disobedient breakdown of the Body of Christ that has caused us to not become the head, but the tail. Romans 12:1,2 is something that we the people of God have yet to really solidify our selves in a more deeper understanding of Godly Kingdom economical provisional way, which means we have yet to understand what the will of God is for us as His chosen earthen elect Vessels. We were to simply just be Him physically, meaning allowing our hands and arms to become His hands and arms, and our legs and feet to become His legs and feet, and our head and mind and eyes to become His head and mind and eyes in the earth realm since He is a Spirit, and we His children are physical beings so that God Almighty can move His will throughout the earth through us for His glory.
S E C T I O N
Then you have the Dominion mindset which abides in selflessness and truly believes in divine unity, has a servant of God kind of heart, and mind, and truly has
J O U R N O
People of God there are two kinds of mindsets I would like for you to consider. Both have two interesting positions of expressions of will in them. The first one I shall talk about is the one that this worlds system is governed by and that is the capitalist mindset which abides in selfishness, and division, has a miser, and greedy uncaring un-benevolent, and unsympathetic kind of heart and mind concerning others they may come to know, even if it’s their own family. They do not believe in helping strangers or others in their time of emergency Godly need, they also live within a individualism xenophobia kind of mentality and mindset. They do not like to ever share wisdom and prosperity they might accumulate over time, thinking that it all belongs to them for their own purpose. Doing just enough to allow people to think they are for Gods divine purpose, and they do not believe in sowing, blessing or encouraging people, and basically thinks it’s all about “me” and no one else.
a greater understanding and believes in the Joint Heirs mindset that says “we are to have all things in common and no lack or need among them in Christ Jesus”, like they believed in Acts 4:32-35. They are always willing to share the divine wisdom of God collective prosperity with others in their lives and loved ones, love to be a giver, and is a person who is devoted to always being a blessing to those in their time of Godly need, especially the poor, and down trodden. They are always very caring and very benevolent towards their fellow man or woman and children, and with them it’s all about you and me, not completely walking away and paying no mind or divine attention to the original Body of Christ working blue print found in the 1 Corinthians 12:12-27, which totally explains the unified spirit of Joint Heirs oneness we the people of God should’ve had all along. When we the people of God turned completely away from this divine principle, for this man doctrine minded ran unrighteous and ungodly divided way among ourselves, we ourselves and not Satan created a spiritual and physical disconnecting break down of the Joint Heirs Levees which allowed the paraplegic disabling wedge that divides us. Our Lord has told us in Mathew 12:25, a Kingdom that is divided against its self will never stand, meaning a people divided against its self economically as well as provisionally will never ever come to have the conducive stabilizing environment of more than enough promised by the Almighty God, if we follow what He told us to do in Luke 19-19 which is to occupy doing business until He come, which truth be told people of God we have yet to begin doing just that, and have replaced what God told us to do in unity with a counterfeited demonic version that does not line up with the divine Word of God, which is why we are truly still in Lack amongst ourselves as a called out people. We have created an individualism division mentality system amongst ourselves of this unrighteous notion of “what will be for you will be for you” way of thinking, when the Lord Our God has never introduced this

He calls us the Body of Christ, and not the body parts of Christ people of God. So, let me ask you a question, “does God say when one is gathered in His name I’m in the midst, or does He say when two or three are gathered in His name I’m gathered in the midst?” If you truly take a focused look at the people of God in Acts 4:32-35 seeing how they really lived among themselves you will come to find the Kingdom of God unification way of life! Now as to how such a grand scale creation of Kingdom of God dominion mind Joint Heirs economical provisional unifying system plan will be able to be accomplished and implemented, well let me say it this way in order for this to take effect all of the forefront mega church ministries will have to take the lead and

They will have to begin to reach out financially and provisionally across doctrinal lines, and totally smash man’s doctrinal ideas of this xenophobia mentality of separation because of man’s created religious minded rules over Gods rules of unity, truly opening up the flood gates for the original Kingdom shifting of God mandated Joint Heirs in Christ Jesus paradigm shifting into the oneness of God. It is through the Divine Order of the Apostolic, that the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ will stand preeminent in our societies, the way that God intended.
irst of all it's worth noting and noting with understanding that the Apostle is the only person among the five-fold that is able to operate in all the ascension gifts. God has mandated that they have prior knowledge and in most cases experience in the other four (4) Offices. In order to SET the order in the church, they must know the operations and order of the other four (4) Offices. Why would this seem so necessitous? Because of the nature of the calling and the work that is associated with that particular rank and office. The Apostle is a ground-breaker and a pioneer, and the lay they “Foundation of the spiritual order in the church. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. WHAT IS " ORDER“? God ministered to us that our temple is not broken but it’s our heart that is broken. Two nights of mending and healing of the heart caused us all to walk away not only healed but Whole. As the Visionary I will forever push to see the greater in everyone come forth and destiny be fulfilled.” - Prophetess Julia Hall Bibbs

verseer Christopher A. Moore was born in New Orleans, LA to Elder Tyrone Moore and Apostle Edith Moore. He has one son Tobias Lawrence. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Theology from Faith Bible College, a Master Degree in Divinity, and a Doctorate Degree in Christian Education (PhD) from Refreshing Faith Bible College. He also served under Bishop Levi Willis Jr. (Church of God in Christ), Bishop Joseph Showell (Bible Ways), the late Bishop David L. Ellis (Pentecostal Assemblies of the World), Apostle Edith Moore (Emmanuel Ministries Worldwide, Inc.), and Pastor G. Bobby Hall (Church of God in Christ). It’s a prophetic, teaching, healing, deliverance ministry where the focus is to heal, comfort, educate and cause all persons to become Disciples of Christ. Overseer Moore has the ability to preach to both, scholars and babes in Christ by infusing theology with practical life principles which produces a word that touches all walks of life and spiritual levels. He is known for his relevant, dynamic, and illustrative preaching and ability to bring God’s word to life through his sermons. Overseer Moore has a heart for the local community. He started the Standing His Ground Unity Movement in an effort to unite the community across racial, class, and social boundaries. One of his ministries greatest focuses has been community outreach. They have formed a unity movement called Standing His Ground to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the citizens in the community. The movement started after the Trayvon Martin trial.
Overseer Moore along with other local Pastors came together to create a forum that would focus on the citizens being able to vocalize their frustrations with law enforcement and have an open dialogue. This unity movement has been tremendous because it has forged a relationship with all three local law enforcement agencies in his county. (Camden County Sheriff’s Office, Kingsland Police Department and St Mary’s Police Department)
Ministering In The Community The first of several challenges Overseer Moore has hurdled came while his mother Apostle Edith Moore was yet pregnant with him. Stricken with tuberculosis, she was told that her child would not live past the age of two and then if he did live pass two years of age that he would never weigh more than C O V E R

for God to heal him, along with his mom, family and church and the next day he was able to speak and regain mobility. The greatest challenge he has dealt with was being molested by two older cousins from the age of six until he was ten. Instead of being a victim of that sexual abuse or becoming an abuser, he prayed and asked God to allow him to use it to help others that have been sexually abused, molested or have encountered incest.

FOR YOUR MUSIC MINISTRY
very time when we come into the New year we have our so called New Year Resolutions such as, I’m going to lose weight, I’m going to treat people right, or my favorite I’m going to stop drinking and smoking. We start off good and about two weeks to a month later the resolution has fallen by the
wayside. So, it came to me as we entered in the year of 2015 instead of having resolutions we should have New Year Revelations. As Ministers and lay leaders in music we tend to propose things to our choir and to our musicians, and just like resolutions after a while the proposals fall by the wayside.
To be effective in ministry and to be of excellence here are three (3) “Revelations” you can implement in your music ministry.
We Must Have A Study Life
We Must Have A Prayer Life
In order to have a prayer life and a study life you must have a relationship with God. Spend time with Him and be in his presence. “How?” you may ask. It is by your worship. Worship is how you really get to know God. As Levites you need to have a worship life with God in order for you to be in tune. As a ministry if you worship together you will have a powerful music ministry. By your worship you can break chains and God can reach the hearts of those in the congregation.
Ministers and Lay Leaders of Music, use these “Revelations” in your ministry. I guarantee that this will take you to the next level in excellence. Have a Happy New Year!!!
S E C T I O N
We Must Have A Relationship
M U S I C
You as a Levite an ambassador of God; you must have a prayer life. How can you minster when you don’t communicate to the master. You as a choir must pray together as well as individually. As the saying goes, “Much Prayer, Much Power, Little Prayer, Little Power”. This is very true! As the music ministry you should operate as a unit. As you pray you can be strong and in tune in ministry.
G O S P E L
As Timothy said, “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth”. How can you sing about something or someone that you don’t know about? You must study the word and let the word minister to you. As ministers, lay leaders, and choir members you need to know about God because you’re standing and ministering to the people. People will feel what you are singing and when you know what you’re singing about then they will get with you.

Chris Brunson & Anointed For over a decade now, Chris Brunson has been using his God-given talent in music. He is a man after God's own heart. He is known to usher you into the very throne room of God. It is through his personal experiences and encounters with God that his debut CD entitled, "Bid Me Come," came to be. Chris has always been in the church, but it was the church that wounded him and gave him a new sense of the love of God to carry the message of healing to others in songs. He understands the Apostolic music ministry calling on his life to bring the prophetic word through song and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to the broken hearted, discouraged, wounded and particularly those who have been hurt by the Body of Christ. In addition to being an ordained Elder and preacher, Chris has also performed in a number of gospel stage plays and facilitated various music workshops for various churches throughout the region. He has helped to start church choirs and music ministries all over the southeastern region of the United States. Chris’ gospel recording group, Chris Brunson & Anointed, has released their sophomore CD project entitled "Broken For Greatness" which debuted in July 2014. This CD will transcend you into another dimension of worship. This year, Chris Brunson and Anointed is on the Broken for Greatness tour. They have sung with and before gospel music greats. They have been blessed to sing at Pastor Shirley Caesar’s church and open up for Evangelist Dorothy Norwood. They have also traveled to Washington, DC, the Carolinas, Alabama, Florida, Bloomington, IL., and recently a 7 day tour in London, England this past October.

Into Your Throne Room was a vision that translated into a song. After the vision, scales fell off my eyes, the claws of ignorance let go of my mind and the torment of guilt broke off my soul. The revelation about 'The Throne Room', where grace and mercy abound got a hold of me. My heart and soul desired nothing less than a theological, biblical, balanced and accessible praise and worship.

The Beard Sisters The Beard Sisters consist of three biological sisters, Angela, LaTonya, and April. They are the offspring of Pastor and First Lady Angelo and Glendora Beard. They attend Moore's Memorial C.O.G.I.C. in Memphis, TN and Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Como, MS. both pastored by their father. All are saved, sanctified, baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost only trying to do the work of the Lord. The Beard Sisters were educated in the Memphis City Schools system. All are honors graduates from Fairley High School in their respective years. Just as their parents instilled in them the importance of gaining biblical knowledge and understanding, they pushed the value of secular education. Angela and LaTonya both have received their Bachelor Degrees from the University of Memphis while, April received her Bachelor's Degree from The University of Tennessee at Martin. LaTonya earned her Master of Science in Information Technology from Colorado Technical University, April earned her Master of Arts from Liberty University and Angela is currently working on her Master's at Strayer University. The sister’s ministry is not only to minister in song, but through the word of God as well. LaTonya accepted her call in the ministry years ago and in 2012 she received her Evangelist Missionary License from The Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Samuel Leon Lowe and Supervisor of Women Mother Earnestine R. Theresa Harvard Johnson is the Apostle & Founder of Voices of Christ Literary Ministries International & the Voices of Christ Prophetic School of the Scribe. Theresa’s creative scribal ministry is rooted in inner healing, godly character building, affirmation and bringing significance to the lives of others through the prophetic creative arts. She is a former award winning print news reporter with a career spanning more than 22 years. She has authored a collection of poetry as well as co-authored several nationally published workbooks addressing child sexual abuse awareness and prevention.
A U T H O R
Theresa is a poet, playwright and artist. She often ministers with a team of prophetic scribes creatively to facilitate healing to the broken. She is a leader with the Living Waters Program of Desert Stream Ministry. A leader within the Voice of Peace Retreat and the Voice of power Retreats for adult and child survivors of child sexual abuse with the international organization, Voice Today, Inc. She is a licensed and ordained minister and is completing a Master’s of Divinity in Biblical Studies from Liberty University.
We wanted to introduce her to our readers. I asked her some questions in the interview that were very informative. Q. When you first realize that God was calling you to write books?
A.
I have always been a writer. I can’t remember a time that writing hasn’t been important to me. I would pretend to be an author even as a child. However, I realized that God had placed the Scribal Anointing upon my life about a week after I accepted Christ into my heart. The very same week that I became a believer, God began waking me up mid morning with the urgency to write poetry and song. While I didn’t understand what was happening right away. I knew it was God urging me. My passion to write was so strong that I would eagerly pop up and jot down every word. It was like fire, as Jeremiah said, shut up in my bones. The more I followed this patter, the more understanding came and the more I received from Him. Some people have regular prayer watches, I began to develop a scribal prayer watch. Times in which God taught me to pray, declare, decree, record accurately and intercede through pen.
Q. How hard were your books to write? A. My poetry, books and blogs are downloaded to me
in the Spirit. If I am not in a place of prayer and preparation then writing for me becomes difficult. My writing and recording has never been a toiling process as both are intertwined with my prayer life. I often received my books, book ides, plays, etc either while in prayer or directly through dreams and visions. When the time comes, I simply follow God’s leading or urgency to sit and write. When I am obedient, God meets me and the books, articles, poetry pour from my spirit within a matter of days. Generally, all I have to do after that is go back and provide necessary scriptural foundation and order the chapters. I have written books with multiple chapters in under three days this way. My writing process has grown from a prayer and meditation process whether I’m writing non spiritual articles or digging into the heart of the prophetic.
Q. Why did you decide to write? A. It wasn’t a decision. It was just in me. In first grade my teacher introduced me to the poetry of Langston Hughes. I was mesmerized by it and asked her to read more. Not only did she do that for our class, but she gave me poetry books to take home and read. Before long, poetry writing and journaling became an everyday part of my life. It helped me cope with my difficult childhood. That notebook was like a best friend to me through some severe trauma. My life, career and ministry have been scripted by my first grade experience, a true encounter with God. I went on to love writing from all cultures, and to develop a passion for Nancy Drew mystery stories and investigative reporting. By the time I graduated from High School, I knew that I wanted to be an investigative reporter and a writer so that’s what I did.
Q.
What was your greatest challenge in writing your books and what was your inspiration?
A.
Q.
What did it take to complete your task of writing your books? Obedience. Obedience. Obedience. I didn’t say this to boast, but this is what it is. I learned to follow God’s internal time clock in my Spirit. I’ve learned to be attentive to His leading no matter how small it may seem. I have found that I am able to finish when I come when He calls rather than scheduling a time to write on mu own. I am blessed with a husband and family who understands this part of my life. So they help make room for it.
Q.
What has developed out of you writing and how has your writing helped others?
A.
If I had not followed God’s path for me on that first day that He woke me up to write I wouldn’t be having this interview with you today. The greatest two things that developed out of my writing is this (1) I began my healing process; and (2) I gained my voice. Nothing has been more precious to me than this and it has been the very thing that has helped me reach and help others. Many of the scribes who walk through the halls of the ministry entrusted to me have been deeply wounded and broken. The spiritual restoration and healing they receive walks hand in hand with our courses, workshops and gathering concerning prophetic scribal ministry. They are
What was the most challenging thing you face in getting your books into publication and why?
A.
Well, no one has ever heard of a series of books on prophetic writing and scribal ministry. When we started nearly 15 years ago the term scribe wasn’t even being used to the extent that it has open up today. the greatest challenge has been being taken seriously. So, breaking into a market that really has no place for this interest is challenging so I had to create it, and create the demand. The awakening we see when speaking at conferences, hosting workshops, and through our school provides a strong foundation for completely overcoming this obstacle.
Q.
What was the reaction of your family and friends when they saw your completed accomplishment?
A.
It’s funny really, outside of my husband and children I do not believe my family overall really understands what these books are about or the ministry God has given me. We live apart and don’t see one another much. I also live in the Bible Belt where ministry is still pretty traditional verses the prophetic. They are proud of me of course. No one seemed surprised at all when I wrote my first book. My oldest sister said, “Resa, we always knew you would do great things”. They mean it and I appreciate it.
Q.
What would you say to first time writers to encourage them not to give up on their dream?
A.
The hard work is building as prayer life that holds up the vision God has placed in your heart for your scribal projects. If you can live a life of prayer, you can be a finisher in your scribal endeavors. The most important thing you can do in your scribal process is write and record everything God gives you when He gives it to you. Don’t fall into the temptation of delay or waiting for the best time. The blessing, the wisdom and the doors that open are hidden in the process those little steps not big finish.

Writing is healing for me, regardless of the genre. I used to get as much from grant and policy writing as I did from writing poetry. No matter what I am penning, God just meets me there. My greatest challenge is finding time to write and following those Kairos moments when God is pulling me into my scribal prayer watch. My greatest inspiration is my relationship to God and passionate desire to live for Him.
safe, nurtured, guided in God’s word, saturated in prayer and encouraged in their individuality in the midst of their gifting. Finally, through my writing scribes have come to see scribal ministry beyond the confines of just writing. They understand that it is administrative, instructional and creative and that writing is only ten percent or less of who they are and receiving those testimonies brings great confirmation to my heart, my spirit and this peculiar ministry I have been entrusted with.

Q. How has your writing help you in ministry? A. It has become my ministry full time. It is also that way of escape and place of being an eternal student before the Holy Spirit. Q. What made you start a scribal school? A. I did not set out to start a scribe school. I would say I stumbled upon this endeavor. One day I hope to share the whole story as people wouldn’t believe it. Overall, the main stream Christian writing community doesn’t offer opportunities for believers to explore the spiritual depths of their identities as a scribe especially as it relates to the prophetic. God gave me a vision of touching writers whose experiences are just like mines and helping them understand what is happening in them and why. The depth of revelation, clarity and soundness that has come from this has transformed the lives of thousands over the years who have walked the halls of our ministry through conferences, courses and online blogs. I have one blog articles that has reached multiples of thousands of people around the world since 2008. Weekly I receive testimonies from tearful believers thanking me for Voices of Christ, and for our teachings or penning the words that describe who they are in Him. For me, this is extremely humbling to experience but it also speaks volumes to the need for this ministry and why I believe the Lord started this scribe school. People need affirmation, encouragement and direction in this area.

ften in marriage we hand our spouse over to the enemy. There are times when we unintentionally hand our spouses into the hand of another because we are frustrated or going through a season in our marriage that we have not matured in the word or faith enough to wait until we see change. I am going to use the story of Sarah and Hagar as an example for this. In Genesis 16, we see the situation unfolding concerning a wife that becomes impatient with her husband being unable to produce what she longs for. It’s the season of unproductive promises that many times cause women to make unfruitful and reckless decisions that could cost them the security and peace of mind as well as joy in their home. Here we have a scenario where the wife knew that there was supposed to be a promise produced. She begins to wonder in her mind about her marriage and her husband because she realizes that what her husband wants she is not able to produce even though her husband knew the promise that was made. It is in the winter season of a marriage that women and men begin to have the spirit of “wondering” attack their minds. They begin to wonder if they are going to be fulfilled, and if they would acquire what they have been working so hard to achieve. Wondering, “Am I with the right person since what I need and what we want is not coming to pass?” Wondering, “Should I hold on or should I end what we have so that both of us can be happy?” It’s in this time of wondering that many marriages have failed. One of the biggest mistakes any couple can make is attempting to make a rational decision when they are frustrated and feeling slack in their marriage. When we feel that our spouse is the cause for our not achieving or gaining that which we desire we readily make a negative decision based upon our pain rather than logical reasons that could possibly draw the couple closer. An unproductive season makes us reach for comfort outside the safe zone of marriage. Sarah pushed Abraham into Hagar’s bed, and

Abraham readily went because he was also feeling unfulfilled and disillusioned with Sarah because this was the one that he had been given a promise concerning. But she had not produced what he needed to make him feel complete as a man. Sarah felt slack and so did he but rather than deal with it in the boundaries of the marriage covenant, their unproductive season caused both of them to break a contract between themselves that says “no matter what season we are in we will always fight to stay within the safe zone of our marriage, (that keeps us together). Once they invite someone else into their marriage they broke the sacredness of the contract of marriage. Once the contract of faithfulness was broken contention, quarrels, jealousy and competition began to develop until it came down to Abraham having to make a choice between his own children. Infidelity never produces anything good. All that it can do is birth trouble and neglect, thus creating even more frustration between the husband and wife. And then it forges a rivalry between the two parties that are fighting for the affection of the spouse who has opened the door to them. It is important that we know how to handle the season of unproductive promises. Instead of reaching for unsound solutions because we are in pain, or feeling contempt for our spouse because we are angry that they have not given us what we want, we should seek counseling and help. Learn to sit and communicate and talk to each other so that we can come to a reasonable and sound conclusion as to how to handle the winter season of the marriage. It is during this time that much prayer and reading of the word with each other should go forth. Learning how to come to answers that will bring glory to our marriages is what we should be achieving. This is the most dangerous season of a marriage because this is the season where you can easily abort your spouse and drive them into the comfort of someone else’s arms.

HANDS UP DON’T SHOOT!
Y O U N G
n a time where there is so much going on in the world it is the body of Christ’s responsibility to demonstrate who Christ is, not with violence or hate but with love and compassion. As young people who will carry out the promises of old given to generations before us by God we must understand that life is more than what we see but in all actuality it is what we make it. "Hands up, don't shoot", or simply "hands up", is a saying and gesture originating from the August, 2014 shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. The gesture was seen in demonstrations in Ferguson after the shooting incident, and throughout the United States following the Ferguson grand jury’s decision not to indict the police officer involved in the shooting. This statement has been said in so many different ways to so many different people but considering the content of this article I am proposing that this statement be said to and heard by the body of Christ to strengthen and uplift our community especially the youth who follow Christ and the unbelievers who are coming into the household of faith based on the love and grace being shown by those who claim to have the spirit of the holy one living inside of them. One of the deadliest weapons (most of the time) is our tongue and the way we treat those we are instructed to love. It is vital that we understand the importance of uplifting and strengthening one another especially as young people. Life is hard and love is scarce especially in the church, “I know right” and we are only as strong as our weakest link. Some Christians act as if they have it all together.

They speak well of God, sing his praises and even lead his people but they lack his love. The bible says in 1st Corinthians 13:1 “If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.” To me this passage of scripture really harps on the hearts of people who “SHOOT”. Weapons are very rarely seen before the time of danger and are brought about without warning and with gravely ill intent. Some of us in the body of Christ have become so routine and religious in our giving of what is looked upon as “GOOD DEEDS” that while we are doing what seems right, it is in the wrong spirit and is not honored by God. Contrary to some beliefs our sudden “shots” are noticed by outsiders, causing a greater wound in the hearts of those who are watching, due to the bullet of “deceit“ being shot time after time into those who are deemed naïve. But in reality, they are very much coherent and observant of what’s really going on. We must remember that the bible does not lie and indeed we do “reap what we sow”. Mathew 26:51-53 says And behold, one of those who were with Jesus reached and drew out his sword, and struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his ear. Then Jesus said to him, "Put your sword back into its place; for all those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword.” Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of
