SUP BRO Supports Fallen and Injured Police Officers and First Responders

By Jackie Schatell

President of SUP BRO, Inc., Joseph DiParisi (CE-BRO) of East Hanover, and a group of New Jersey and Pennsylvania-based police officers founded a charitable organization called SUP BRO to benefit the families of fallen or injured police officers and first responders. They call it SUP BRO because that is how many of the officers and first responders often address one another.

Since inception in 2019, SUP BRO, which donates 100% of what is raised, has distributed over $20,000. In addition, they have commissioned an artist, Art by Elle, to create 44 portraits of fallen or injured NJ State PBA officers, and 16 portraits of fallen or injured first responders, for a total of 60 portraits in all. She does this at no cost. They will be displayed at a funeral to be held on April 26th where the fallen and injured officers and firemen will be honored. The portraits will be presented to family members.

CE-BRO says, “After attending police week in Washington DC in which the ‘bros’ had cycled their way across state lines alongside Law Enforcement United, we became inspired to create something that would benefit the families of fallen police officers and other first responders.”

So far, they surprised the widow and children of a Bedminster PD Sergeant with a Christmas shopping spree in 2020; in 2021 they surprised a widow and son of a Paterson Detective with a Christmas shopping spree; and in 2022 they surprised a Morristown Sergeant and his children with a Christmas shopping spree. All of the shopping sprees were done at Tons of Toys in Madison, with help from the owner Chris, and Defalco’s Towing in Chatham.

In addition, during Covid, SUP BRO fed over 300 police officers and 24 different departments from around the country. They also held two separate stuff a truck events for Florida Hurricane victims. And, they have also distributed hundreds of memorial bracelets and get well bracelets.

To raise funds, SUP BRO sells merchandise at events and on their website, and receives donations from local businesses. To donate to the organization, go to supbro.org.
