This magazine is a net label, a platform for realizing, putting together and spreading out various creative projects of the 12PM group, and, later on, of other people and associations that think alike. The magazine is mainly focused on photography.
A remote district of a big city looks just like other similar places in other cities. In spite of many of its residents who got stuck in time, the district has lived through transition from socialism to capitalism, acquired a maze of numerous supermarkets and given rise to quiet bedroom neighborhoods resembling burial vaults. The tag “proletarian�, just like many other soviet rudiments, no longer reflects something in particular, and against a background of endless grocery store cash desks it has turned into an oxymoron. And over time, the proletariat has either reached the retirement age, or lost itself into drinking to become unskilled labor force, or got a new name – office plankton. Instead of people standing in lines waiting to buy goods now goods are lined up in front of people. These pictures have been taken by three like-minded photographers while they were walking around the city. The pictures embody their childhood memories as well as impressions of a contemporary local resident, and views as seen by a tourist who will never happen to stroll into these places.
