Quarterly Bulletin October-December 2015
Mensaje BIENVENIDA
One more year ends —twelve months of endless work so as to provide women with more and improved programs to guide them towards success, i.e., to achieve balancing their personal life with their professional and their company's growth. All this work could not have been done if we weren’t supported by our Fellows. Without hesitation, our Fellows give not only some hours of their days, but share their expertise, advices and backing with out entrepreneurs, either at Plan A sessions, by mentoring, or by conducting a workshop at Victoria147 Academy. Of importance, in 2015 our network of Fellows extended beyond our country's frontiers, with the incorporation of top executives living in the United States. I can call 2015 the year of growth. Our organization grew because we increased the number of people receiving the impact of Victoria147, through our participation at platforms such as WOBI, INCmty, the Global Women's Mentoring Partnership, lectures at universities, the I Love event, the Ready, Set, Work workshop and the Landing and Starter programs at Academia D. F. and Monterrey. We also grew by strengthening the programs addressed to executive females through the Women Executive Program, which made several alliances with different corporations aimed at creating a culture of gender equity and equal opportunities to allow women's professional growth. In addition, we started a certification —For and To Equity Mark— for companies, and together with Forbes, we conducted a research on gender equity in the Mexican business environment. Concerning our Business Accelerator, in 2015 we defined the line of work we will follow from now on. More emphasis will be put on business acceleration —Victoria 147 entrepreneurs' need— and incubation through the programs and services provided by our Academy. This was our response to the huge demand from women who came to us asking for help but had nothing more than a business idea or a few operation years.
Mensaje BIENVENIDA
We made the decision to offer a wide array of services to both help consolidate our entrepreneurs' business, and to strengthen and refine the skills and knowledge of working women. As an organization devoted to women and to seek benefits for them, we developed Tienda V147, the first e-commerce platform in Mexico, pooling female entrepreneurs and creators of top-quality and unique brands. This is a showcase for women whose business size does not allow having a point of sale and therefore lose big opportunities to grow their business. Moreover, Tienda V147 permanently hosts the campaign #CompraConCausa, which allows us to raise funds to organize talks at junior high schools so as to inspire more women to follow their entrepreneurial dreams and go on with their professional training. One of the important events in 2015 was the opening of an office in Monterrey. This venue allowed us to support women in a business environment characterized by male presence, so that they do not give up but rather start or grow their business. I know there is still a long way to go, and we will continue working in "Redefining the idea of today's woman", but I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for joining Victoria147 and making joint efforts for the benefit of Mexico.

Noticias Employees don't need an annual review of their progress in order to know how they compare to their peers. Employees don't need an annual review of their progress in order to know how they compare to their peers. Companies such as GE announced their assessment system will no longer include an annual review, which rates employees' performance by comparing it to the performance of the other staff members. Accenture, for example, is undergoing what its CEO, Pierre Nanterme, called a "massive revolution": each employee's feedback is provided in a personalized manner and at the time it is needed, replacing the annual review. Samuel Culbert, a researcher from the University of California, affirms productivity reviews are a corporation's curse. Read the full story.

On this occasion, we addressed trends and innovation, discussing the way to incorporate them to companies so that brands (product/person) can achieve staying in consumers' top of mind rather than becoming outdated in the eyes of others. This time we had international lecturers, such as Shelley Brindle (EVP Domestic Network Distribution HBO-USA), Kelly Talamas (editor of Vogue Mexico and Latin America), Eric Descombes (Director for Mexico and Latin America of Mac Graw Hill), Horacio Genolet (CEO Ogilvy Group), Michel Rojkind (founder of Rojkind Arquitectos), Rodolfo RamĂrez (founder of RedBox Innovation), and Gabriela Arriaga (founder of Leonardo1452). We thank all the Fellows that took part in I Love my Trends: without you this event could not have taken place.

The visit paid by Shelley Brindle (EVP Domestic Network Distribution HBO-USA) was the excuse to meet for breakfast on 3 December with female executives. Our guest spoke about the challenges she has faced to achieve professional success as well as a balanced personal life, and how she succeeded in transforming the industry.
On 26 November we conducted the first intensive workshop Ready, Set, Work, a program addressed to women that quit work at some point but now wish to return to the corporate world. In this one-day session we discussed topics such as: personal analysis, priorities and challenges, curriculum vitae —How can the time without a formal job can be explained?— and corporate image —What image should I project so as to achieve what I want? The workshop ended with a personal interview exercise.
Along with BanRegio, during 2015 we conducted workshops on business strategy, financial planning, marketing, and some others open to the public. In addition, we collaborate weekly with articles on entrepreneurial issues for the Nexo BanRegio portal.
On 4 November we had our last 2015 dinner party. Besides our Fellows, this dinner was attended by the eighth generation of Victoria147 entrepreneurs. Loly in the sky (Lorena Vázquez) was the entrepreneur guest who told her story of success. Our thanks to all attendants.
