For this sixth exhibition of comic book art, CherbourgOcteville has decided to honour Jean Giraud, aka Moebius, the creator of Arzack, Blueberry and The Incal. The exhibition lasts until 31st December, and will take you on a journey through the watery and desert like fantasy worlds of the artist. Guided visits in English by prior arrangement: ( 02 33 23 39 33 Musée d’art Thomas-Henry, centre culturel, rue Vastel. From Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 12 and 2pm to 6pm, Sunday 2pm to 6pm. 15th-17th July Spies are coming ashore at the plage verte! James Bond is at his best in Casino Royale on Friday 15th. The next day, it’s another type of spy altogether, in the form of Jean Dujardin, aka OSS 117, in Rio ne répond plus (No response from Rio), followed by the Coen brothers’ Burn After Reading, a dark spy comedy starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney. And to finish, on sunday, The Concert, starring Melanie Laurent, for something completely different. On Saturday and Sunday, there will be a concert before the films are shown: first Padam, a multi-national group (Lebanon, Poland, UK, France) will play cover versions of French songs, then on Sunday it’s the turn of award winning Belgian folk-rock group Balimurphy, winners of the Charles Cros Prize for Best French Language Song 2010 as well as Best Show in Belgium 2010. Bring your deckchair and a blanket for an evening which promises to be spine tingling! On 15th and 16th July you can make your way home using the free shuttle bus service provided by Zephir; departures from in front of the town hall at the end of the film. Plage verte. Concerts begin at 9pm, films at 11pm. Free entry. ( 02 33 87 89 19
