Swami Samachittananda in Singapore
Swami Samachittananda, an Assitant Minister of the Ramakrishna Ashrama, Buenos Aires, Argentina visited Singapore from 5th to 10th April 2017. Before his posting to Argentina Centre in March 2016, he was in Singapore for 15 years in different capacities such as Warden of the Boys’ Home, Manager and VicePresident. On the celebrated Rama Navami evening, the bhajan session that he led was indeed full of devotion. The assembled people at the Temple Hall were deeply moved at the fine atmosphere that pervaded due to his bhajan singing. On the ekadashi evening again, on 7 April, he led a group singing of ‘Nama Ramayanam’ and Sri Rama bhajans. On 8 April after the usual evening arati, S w a m i Samachittananda presented a slide show at the Temple Hall. The 179 BARTLEY ROAD | SINGAPORE 539784
slides were of suitable graphics of his Special Lecture on the Argentenian Centre. He explained how a few groups of local devotees have accepted Sri Ramakrishna’s ideal as their way of life in Argentina. This showed that the principles of Vedanta are universal in its application and worthy to every one anywhere in the world. On the last day of his stay on 9 April, again after the evening arati, Swami Samachittananda conducted a ‘Bhajan Sandhya’ programme at the Temple Hall. A large gathering attended and appreciated his bhajan singing. During his stay, many elderly and younger devotees met him renewing their loving past respects. He also visited WINGS Counselling Centre in the campus and had an interactive session with the assembled Counsellors.
