Guru…

Practice of Vedanta

In his special speech, Swami Vimokshananda examined the role of a Guru in the disciple’s life and how the Guru should be pragmatic in cultivating the enquiring mind of his disciple. He quoted three incidents from the lives of Swami Vivekananda and Swami Brahmananda to exemplify the Guru’s grace on them. The Vendar TV of Tamil Nadu did an interview of the Swami which would be telecast at the end of this month.

The Divine Life Society (Sri Sivanandashram) of Malaysia scheduled a Spiritual Discourse by Swami Vimokshananda at its Batu Caves campus on 8 June 2017. The Satsang began right at 7.30 pm at the ashram A View of Lord Muruga hall where the Satsangis from Sri Sivananda ashram had gathered. Swami Swayamjayananda, the President of the DLS, Malaysia welcomed Swami Vimokshananda and introduced him to the audience. “The Practice of Vedanta” was the theme of discussion. Paying his humble prostration to Lord Muruga who is majestically present at the celebrated caves, the Swami began explaining what is Vedanta. He elaborated the idea of how Vedanta has become an inalienable fact of common life of the followers of Hinduism. Quoting from the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, the visiting Swami threw light on the practice of Vedanta in a harmonious blend of four yogas namely Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Raja Yoga. He urged the devotees to study the numerous writings of Swami Sivanandaji who stood for Vedantic life for all. The Swami and his guests took supper prasad at the ashram.

Swami Vimokshananda appreciated the great efforts of Vaalai Siddhar of SAJP, Batu Caves in organising such a massive Conference in spite of nume-rous challenges. A number of Tamil Scholars from India participated. 179 BARTLEY ROAD | SINGAPORE 539784
