Dayton Community Center The 21st Annual Dayton Ole Tyme Days Festival & Cookoff kicks off Friday. April 19. Cookoff categories include: Brisket, Pork Ribs, Chicken, Cook’s Choice Main Entrée, Cook’s Choice Dessert, Beef Fajitas and the famous Omeletoff. Dayton Ole Tyme Days Festival is located at the Dayton Community Center, 801 S. Cleveland St., in Dayton. Cook teams will be setting up a bit different this year due to the new homes built on Luke Street beginning Fri., April 19, see Barbecue Chairman Tony May, 281-383-5910 or 281576-2640. Water will be provided at each team area. The traditional Margarita contest will be held Friday evening. Registration forms, and the cook-off schedule, can be found online at: www.oletymedays.com.

A Junior Chili Cook-off will be held Sat., April 20. Sign-in is at 8:30 a.m. Two age groups compete (5-12 years and 13-18 years of age). There are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Chili trophies in each age group competing for the $125 prize. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Showmanship and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Taster’s Choice win trophies. www.oletymedays.com. Arts and Crafts will be indoors and outdoors, at the Dayton Community Center. There is something for everyone, jewelry, purses, clothes, children items, crafts and much more so come out and browse the creations. Antique Tractor Show, $20 entry fee includes T-shirt. There are four different age range categories. See website for entry form and details. There will be plenty of good food, good music and great fun for all ages. Friday night entertainment will be John Farley and the

Wild Turkeys. Saturday night entertainment will be Southern Breeze at 7 p.m. and Jason Cassidy at 9:30 p.m. Admission is $10 over the age of 12 and $5 for 12 and under.
