T H E G O D O F A L L NAT I O N S I S H E R E TO O A story from a short-term trip participant
Having recently returned from one of the short term trips to Jordan, I come back with a refreshed spirit, a better focus on the Kingdom, and a new sense of belonging here in the States. For 10 days, we partner with the local workers and sit with those who have been displaced. It is an emotionally and spiritually demanding week, but it has also shown me bigger glimpses of God’s heart for the nations. Being part of our local refugee ministries here at Vineyard, I did not face much culture shock; rather, I feel as if the Lord has deposited an excitement in my soul to continue laboring for the harvest here in our own neighborhood!
Soup for the Soul An update from Brazil
Being part of the Brazilian church, we have developed quite a few traditions, one being a monthly potluck all together. It is not like the typical North American potluck though; essentially, it is one big soup made by several members of the community. The soup is then brought to the gathering and other people get to add to it, all with the purpose of simply being together and creating a stronger fellowship. We may live in a small city, but this always proves to enrichen friendships away from life’s daily pressures. Gathering for a nice bowl of soup has painted a beautiful picture of how small groups and house churches may have looked in the early Church days as well as instilled an excitement for the coming together of all nations in the future!

KINGDOM GLIMPSES An Update from our North African workers With most of our team back in their home countries, we headed to a leadership conference held in Thailand. It was our first time to be in a predominantly Buddhist country and from the moment we arrived, we felt particularly reminded that no matter what part of the world we live in, which people we live amongst, or what culture we find ourselves in, we should never forget that God’s heart is for all people. We try to remind ourselves often that our eyes focus on Jesus while also focusing on those around us. As we walk, talk, travel, eat, and go about our routines, we are constantly compelled to pray, and we believe this is due to our efforts to focus on the One who created those around us. Motivated by love, we find ourselves understanding more of Jesus as we engage with the ones who are different from us. Ironically, the focus of the conference was on depending on the Holy Spirit within our ministries. It was encouraging to see many cultures and countries represented in this conference as it further confirmed what the Lord is placing on our hearts regarding how we love others.
