Please also support the Daffodil Rally for Cancer Motor Show that will be held in Hawera on Sunday 21st August at the Hawera Primary School Grounds. This Motor Show is our branch joining in with Branches throughout New Zealand raising funds for this very worthy cause.

We have been trying to fix a roof leak at the clubrooms let’s hope we found it. We have another new member join our club so a very warm welcome to Andrew Wilkie from Waitara who has a 1926 Whippet car.

Hello Folks Time is marching on and soon the old gentleman in red will be with us, but we have a bit to go before his visit comes along. We hope to see you at our Noggin and Natter night coming up on the 18th of August. Its where you can catch up with other members to discuss our mutual hobbies in owning, driving and restoring our chosen vehicle. Please support our Rubber Duckie Motor cycle raffle that will be available at club nights and will be drawn at the rally dinner on the 18th September.

We have also had donated back to the club, two pewter Beer mug trophies by Colin Dray who now lives in the Waikato. Colin was the winner of the 1st and 2nd Maunga Moana Rallies

Brian Morris and his team of helpers are organizing this event. All exhibitors will be required to sign an entry form on arrival at the grounds. By completing this form, you will become included under the clubs Public Liability Policy for property damage and personal injury.

The North Island Club Captains Tour is ending in New Plymouth, and we have been invited to join the entrants for dinner at the Plymouth Hotel on Friday23rd September. Also, we could drive out and meet them as they approach New Plymouth. More details on this next month.

Committee Chatter At our June meeting, a motion was passed directing that “Upon joining the Taranaki Branch, a new member is to be given a VCC name badge with their name engraved on it, without charge to the new member”. Any new member should approach Kevin Fabish, on committee, to action this change to ensure the correct details are supplied.

We will be also hosting them for a morning tea at the clubrooms on Saturday 24th September and all members are invited to bid them farewell on their homeward journey.

We will be arranging a shiny parts Auction for the September Noggin and Natter so bring along any parts or articles that can be donated to the club or we will auction your parts for you. So, bring a little bit of cash along for a fun night.

Jim Logan

Editors Notes

In September we have the Rubber Duckie Rally on the 17th, hope you have all bought a raffle ticket, then on the 23rd, the North Island Club Captains Tour will be winding up their week with a dinner at the International hotel, branch members are welcome to join in, call Rob Thomson to book a seat, good luck and safe motoring to those from the Branch who are joining the Tour. Don’t forget our midweek run on the 25th, Kevin’s collection is well worth visit at any time and Christine’s display of crystal should be an eye opener. Well, that is all from me for now.

The National AGM of the Club is being held in Auckland this month and Mark Masters was appointed by the committee to be our delegate at this meeting. Even though the weather is typical of winter we can still get out and about in our vehicles and our motor cycle members will be out in force at the Rubber Duckie Motor Cycle rally in Colin Johnston the Committee
