Committee Chatter

At our June meeting, a motion was passed directing that “Upon joining the Taranaki Branch, a new member is to be given a VCC name badge with their name engraved on it, without charge to the new member”. Any new member should approach Kevin Fabish, on committee, to action this change to ensure the correct details are supplied. HI FOLKS, YES, WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A CHAIRMAN AND A CLUB CAPTAIN, SO IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE WHO WOULD LIKE TO TAKE EITHER OF THESE ROLES ON. THAT WOULD BE GREAT, YOU WOULDN’T BE THROWN IN AT THE DEEP END, SO IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT IT GIVE COLIN A CALL AND HAVE A TALK WITH HIM. MIDWEEK RUN WAS HELD IN INGLEWOOD, WITH A GREAT TURNOUT ABOUT 15 CARS MET AT THE INGLEWOOD RAILWAY STATION STARTING WITH A SHORT DRIVE AROUND INGLEWOODS BACK ROADS AND ENDING UP AT KEVIN AND CHRISTINE FABISH’S PLACE FOR A LOOK AT HIS ESSEX CARS AND A SHORT TALK ON THEM AND CHRISTINES SWAROVSKI CRYSTAL COLLECTION AND A QUICK CUPPA , OF COURSE THE DRY SPELL ENDED WHEN EVERYONE ARRIVED . THE WEATHER GODS DID NOT TREAT US WELL AT ALL WITH DAFFODIL DAY IN HAWERA BEING CANCELLED FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, DUE TO THE SCHOOLS CONCERNS OVER THE WEATHER EFFECTS ON THEIR GROUNDS, THIS EVENT MAY BE HELD AT A LATER DATE. MORE ON THAT LATER. DON’T FORGET THE RUBBER DUCKIE ON THE 17TH SEPTEMBER, COME OUT AND SUPPORT THE BIKE BOYS.RAFFLE TICKETS AT THE CLUBHOUSE TO SUPPORT THEM.HOPE THE WEATHER GODS TREAT THEM BETTER CLUB CAPTAINS TOUR. ANYBODY INTERESTED IN JOINING THE MEMBERS ON THIS TOUR POSSIBLY AT URENUI FOR THE REST OF THEIR TOUR ARE WELCOME TO COME ALONG AND FOR THE DINNER AT THE PLYMOUTH HOTEL, IF INTERESTED LET COLIN OR I KNOW. THE WEATHER IS IMPROVING SO WARM UP YOUR CARS AND BIKES.BE SAFE ON THE ROADS AND ENJOY THE SUNSHINE SAFE MOTORING, KEVIN FABISH.

Editors Notes Hi Folks, this month’s club night we are having another Shiny Parts auction. So, hunt out your collections and bring them along for sale to assist the Branch coffers. Also on the events calendar, at the end of next month there will be an opportunity to join with the Morris Minor Club members on a tour of gardens in the Fringe Garden Festival, more info on this next month.

As mentioned in the column above it is hoped we can still go ahead with the Car Show that we had planned for last month, until the weather got in the way. Until today it was looking good for some warmer weather, but wouldn’t you know, Mother Nature had other plans and it now looks like there will be snow for skiing after all!! Thats all, keep well and warm, JimLogan.
