Chairman’s Report:
Doesn’t time go quickly when you are enjoying yourself, or it seems to for me. I wish the days were longer and the weeks were longer, I just don’t seem to fit in the things that I need/want to do, maybe it’s me getting older or perhaps lazier I don’t know, but I know we have used up the first month of 2023
Incorporated Societies Act 2022 and New Club Constitution
We discussed these at Club Night at length, but as we aren’t Constitutional Lawyers or even skilled in these matters, we weren’t able to come to a conclusion although we understand the need for change and how it will affect the Club and Branches.
Unfortunately we will not be sending a Delegate to the Executive Meeting in March to discuss these issues, but I hope some feedback will be available for to us to consider and make the decisions that as a Branch we need to.
Chairman’s Run
A run from Bunning’s car park using mostly back roads to Kawerau with a tikitour of the newer part of Kawerau, then back to our place for a BBQ lunch and a relaxed afternoon. Thanks to those who provided food to share.
On Sunday 22nd 3 cars went to Rotorua for the Lakefront Display, with James following later in his modern.
Steve and Joy, Harry and Gay and Steve and Lesley competed in the Wanganui Burma Rally, where Steve and Joy cleaned up, they won their class plus they won the Rally overall. Well done, a great effort.
Sadly Maureen Taylor, wife of the late Bruce passed away on the 25th January. Maureen and Bruce attended many Club Events in their Triumph Spitfire

I have a little Satnav, it sits there in my car. A Satnav is a driver’s friend, it tells you where you are. I have a little Satnav, I’ve had it all my life.
It’s better than the normal ones, my Satnav is my wife. It gives me full instructions, especially how to drive.
“It’s sixty miles an hour” it says “You’re doing sixty five”. It tells me when to stop and start and when to use the brake. And tells me that it’s never ever, safe to overtake. It tells me when a light is red and when it goes to green. It seems to know instinctively, just when to intervene. It lists the vehicles just in front and all those to the rear. And taking this into account, it specifies my gear. I’m sure no other driver, has so helpful a device. For when we leave and lock the car, it still gives its advice. It fills me up with counseling, each journey’s pretty fraught. So why don’t I exchange it and get a quieter sort?
Ah well, you see, it cleans the house, makes sure I’m properly fed. It washes all my shirts and things and keeps me warm in bed! But despite all these advantages and my tendency to scoff. I only wish that now and then, I could turn the bugger off.
Any photo’s or articles from Members for the Running Board are much appreciated. How about writing a small story or sending photos of a Club Run or event you have attended
Thanks to this month’s contributors James for his photo at the Chairman’s Run Joy for her photo’s and captions of the Wanganui Rally and Weekend Also to the un-named Satnav contributor
