Hi guys.
Its been a quiet couple of months but in saying that the heat pump is in and going. Thankyou Donald for organising the pump and thanks to Peter Bootsma for having the wiring connected. To me the club made the right decision for the future heating for the club rooms. At least the Rock and roll night that is being organised should or will be warm. Thanks to Brett and helpers for organising the last club run it was short with a good ending for this time of the year and thanks to those club members that supported the run. It has been suggested that we meet as a club with our cars and motorbikes down at the market days to Entice new people to join the club. Need to bring some more good ideas to the meetings so we can kick them around and come up with some solutions. Keep an eye out on the club captains report for the Rock and roll night. Let's support Brett and make it a success as well. Due to some unfortunate things I have had to cancel the nifty 50 run next month. I do apologise for this so we have shifted this event to Daffodil Day in August. Keep an eye out for more details. Going to wrap up now keep up the good work
Cheers
Owen Duthie
CHAIRMANS REPORT
Greetings
Not much to report this month.
I attended the swap meet at Levels Raceway but after a long Wait to get in found very little car parts.
Our Mid winter do will be on the 18th July , It’s a Rock & Roll night. I still need to organise this and a supply of suitable 50,s music.
Another mini working bee will be held soon to finish off minor details at the club rooms.
As you read this in a few weeks hopefully we had a nice afternoon out on the April Club run.
Remember the club is not just about cars and motorbikes there is a social aspect as well.
There is few things happening in May starting with the Ashburton swap meet on the 6th .
Our club run on the 13th of May which is the 3 Gorges and passes run leaving the club rooms at 9.30am. Bring your own lunch , also a tow rope and chains if you have them , be prepared for back country roads.
The AGM is on the 18th May , some of you may like a job on the committee .
So keep the rubber on the road and bums on seats
CHEERS BRETT
Club Run April
The April run was a Sunday afternoon run starting from the club rooms at 1.30pm organised by our club captain Brett on short notice.
A turn out of 8-10 cars went on a run through a combination of sealed and unsealed roads which were on the dusty side with visibility greatly reduced if following another vehicle.
We ended up at the Waihao Forks Hotel for afternoon tea or something stronger .
Steve unfortunately discovered a leaking radiator in his Escort wagon .
A very nice afternoon enjoyed by every one and thanks to Brett for organising the run
