Journey through Time Rally 29th October

Annual General Meeting

. This Month there is No Trip as we have the Journey Through Time Rally, on this weekend

Editor’s Notes. Subject: ONE LINERS England has no kidney bank, but it does have a Liverpool. Haunted French pancakes give me the crepes. .I know a guy who's addicted to drinking brake fluid, but he says he can stop any time. A thief who stole a calendar got twelve months. I got some batteries that were given out free of charge. A dentist and a manicurist married. They fought tooth and nail. A will is a dead giveaway .With her marriage, she got a new name and a dress. Police were summoned to a daycare center where a three-yearold was resisting a rest. A bicycle can't stand alone; it's just two tired. The guy who fell onto an upholstery machine last week is now fully recovered. He had a photographic memory but it was never fully developed. When she saw her first strands of grey hair she thought she'd dye. Acupuncture is a jab well done. That's the point of it.

I have received 17 entries for the Journey through Rally so far, they are slowly coming in.(One more this afternoon).I also have a few people who have not said if they are able to attend the Saturday night dinner. So it is difficult for us to notify the caterers. I have also received several emails from regular particpants, saying they are not coming this year due too much covid around. Sorry I missed the latest trip at the end of September but was away at Pukehina for the weekend, with family. Please could I have a report on this and who attended and the route you travelled. Thank you to all the people who were able to turn up at theRSA to meet up with the Club Captain’s Tour Group. They all seem to be enjoying themselves, and having a great time. We need to have a working bee sometime soon to bring down all the equipment that is storaged at Julie & Wayne’s place and taking up there valuable space, which they must need. Norma Hind Sight • The further backwards you look, the further forward you can see. (Winston Churchill) • I’m still waiting patiently for the wisdom that supposedly comes with old age. Anyone else?\ • Faith is the freedom to leave the dark musty living room and risk what we love in the great outdoors! Good old days. I grew up withSteve Job,Johnny Cash, and Bob Hope. Now there are no jobs, no cash and no hope…. Please don’t let anything happen to Kevin Bacon

I didn't like my beard at first. Then it grew on me. Did you hear about the crossed-eyed teacher who lost her job because she couldn't control her pupils? When you get a bladder infection, urine trouble. When chemists die, they barium. I stayed up all night to see where the sun went, and then it dawned on me. I'm reading a book about anti-gravity. I just can't put it down.

Club Captain Tours, E-mail from Kaaren Smylie Kaaren Smylie VCC NICC (Vintage Car Club North Island Club Captain)

By now I trust everyone has arrived home safely after a great week of motoring and socializing. For many, the 2022 NICC Tour was spent catching up with old friends, and for others, making new friends. The motoring was excellent, the accommodation 'passed muster', and the cuisine while on Tour was tasty, plentiful, and reasonably priced. We began our Tour in Tauranga with 60 of the group, with others joining us on route. At our final dinner in New Plymouth we had over 70 members dining with the group, a tremendous representation of members from over half of our branches. It was most unfortunate due to ill health the Dewhurst's, and the Scott's had to cut their Tour short, however, in spite of that small hiccup both couples confirmed they had a great time. I am happy to report we didn't have any significant side-of-the-road breakdowns, which was tops, so much so, it made a very hard task to nominate someone for the 'Hard Luck' prize! PRIZES AWARDED Furthest travelled North - Murray and Penny FIRTH NICC Choice of Vehicle on Tour - Phil & Coral KIDD Hard-luck Prize - Bruce & JeneferWATERWORTH Youngest Tourist - 12yr Leon Blackbourn South Island Entrants - Gordon & Annette DACOMBE, and Phil KENNY and Sue TANNER Family on Tour - The Blackbourn Family Furthest travelled South - Phil KENNY & Sue TANNER the tourists who wore those awesome personalized polo shirts (see photo attached), you legends! Phil and Sue, you really went the extra mile to get into the groove of this Tour, much appreciated! Nurse on Tour - Nicola MIDGLEY Members with the oldest Vehicle - Oliver and Nicola MIDGLEY

THANKYOU SCRIBES & SHUTTERBUGS Scribes - Another thank you folks to the members who volunteered to be our daily scribes, your individual input is much appreciated. Can you please email what you have written directly onto Alastair so he can collate the write-ups for Beaded Wheels. Shutter-bugs - If you haven't already emailed to me your wonderful pics, can you please send them by tomorrow morning (Wednesday 28) as I will be leaving my office by late morning and won't be back for five weeks. Tourists - Thanks to all of you for making the decision to come on Tour, we were a great fun loving bunch who had lots of laughs on route. Photos attached below - A big thanks goes to Deidre! A BIG THANKYOU again goes to my good friend Alastair, route planner, comedian, and everyone's friend! As well I personally acknowledge, and give thanks to Gwen, and Jim, our other-halves, they have both been very supportive, and pitched in many times to help out. 😍😍 Take care everyone and remember the next VCC Club Captains Tour will be in the South Island in March 2023, and your Tour Leader will be SICC Alon Mayhew. Hugs Kaaren

A member of our Branch, Cowan Wright Campbell’s father, for several years went on these tours in his 1928? Chyrsler and had a great time. He had a small table which fitted into the “dickie seat” and was very useful at lunch stops and at “happy Hours” Several of the tours also visited the Wright’s farm at Waituhi.
