CHAIRMANS REPORT
Hi guys. Happy new year to you all. Have to stop saying that because January is just about over. Of course we have the Kickstart Motorbike Rally on the 25th of January which all are welcome. Thanks to Peter Bland for organizing this event.
Then we have the Wallaby Rally on the 8th of February..
We need our club members to step up to help on the day. We are having a Club night on the 5th February to make up the Rally packs. Come along to help then we can have a catch up. Our thoughts are with our members that are not well at the moment. Hoping that each one of you have a safe and speedy recovery. Hopefully we can make a start on redecorating the club rooms soon. The feeling is that we now will wait till after the Wallaby Rally. It will be a good chance to have a club together and get out the BBQ. Let's get it done.
We have members that are interested in opening the parts shed for half a day a week. Need to think Seriously about this. Bring your thoughts to the next meeting let's give it another go. That's it for me.
Cheers Owen.
Kick Start Motorcycle Rally 2025
Kick start Rally was held on Saturday 25th January
A small field of entrants made our way from Waimate through the Gorge to Kurow. The ride started out in light drizzle but as we got closer the weather cleared into present riding conditions.
After a lunch stop in Kurow we returned to Waimate via Duntroon and Seven Mile road
A enjoyable ride and Thanks to Tony and Isabell for providing the back up vehicle.
Bryce .
It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of John Bryce . John first joined the Waimate Vintage Car Club on the 22nd March 1997. He worked tirelessly in the background doing what he saw needed attended to. And helping in many ways , for numerous other clubs in Waimate. A man of few words , a man of great Mana. John will be greatly missed by many .
NOVCC 2024 Windsor Rally
The Windsor Rally held on the 7th December has 3 members from Waimate participate. In the Rally.
After a tour around town and over some interesting roads which gave a vehicles a good work out we ended up at Duntroon for lunch and the field tests.
Myself had a few moments on the return journey with a flat battery and a lack of fuel, which Owen was a great help in sorting out.
The Waimate entry's Owen and Sandra , Ross and Christine, Suzanne and myself all won prizes with Suzanne and Myself winning the overall prize which certainly made up for the woes we had.
