eason s g in l z iz s d n o back for a sec
Welcome to the 6th season of Udderbelly Festival at Southbank Centre and what promises to be our biggest and best programme of shows to date. If you haven’t been to our festival before, it’s very simple we take a big upside down purple cow, fill it with over 200 performances of everything from comedy to kids shows and let it graze on the banks of the Thames for 12 weeks from the beginning of April. Nearly all of our tickets are between £10 and £20. Our two headline shows, Smashed and A Simple Space, are thrilling circus acts for all ages and were massive hits of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe last year. Couple this with the largest programme of live comedy in London and loads of shows for children and we’re pretty sure we’ve got something for everybody.
HHHHH
l l e h g n i s i a ‘rwith a show that’s ’ n e v a e h e r pu
None of this would be possible without the ongoing support of Southbank Centre and we’re enormously proud to be part of their 2014 programme of events. Thank you to everyone that has supported the festival over the last 5 years. Come down and we look forward to showing you what all of the fuss is about this year. Everybody needs an upside down purple cow in their lives…

This summer, Southbank Centre is presenting Festival of Love – an exploration of the many different facets of human love - from romantic love, to the harmony (or disharmony) between nations and love of a parent for a child. One of the highlights is Proud To Be Wed – a weekend of weddings for gay and straight couples celebrating the momentous legalisation of same sex marriage in the UK this year. We’re also in love with the idea that Udderbelly Festival is returning for its sixth year. A purple upsidedown cow at Southbank Centre has become the signal that summer’s returned to London. Every year the programme has a whole host of exciting new ideas and the wealth of talent on show make this year no exception. We’re delighted that young people training to be the festival programmers of the future all summer at Southbank Centre will also be working with Udderbelly’s team of producers and artists. There’s no need to go to any other green field festival in my opinion – our pasture has all the excitement necessary.

The Comeback Special is about many things, but it’s best not to be too specific in case it spoils the surprise. Like someone giving away the ending of Titanic. Things you should know about the show: 1) Susan is in it 2) She may talk about cats and jogging but not at the same time 3) It’ll be as much fun as you want it to be. Come as you are.
