MILIED F’GĦAWDEX 2023 Għal bosta, żmien il-Milied hu l-isbaħ żmien tas-sena, għat-tfal forsi ħafna aktar milli għalina l-adulti. L-atmosfera li tinħoloq matul dawn il-jiem tal-Milied hi waħda ta’ ferħ u kuntentizza, megħjuna wkoll mil-libsa li jkun qed jilbes pajjiżna f’dan iż-żmien meta d-differenzi li jeżistu bejn il-bnedmin, b’ideat, valuri u ħsibijiet differenti, jinbidlu f’mumenti sbieħ ta’ għaqda u awguri. Dan hu żmien fejn is-solidarjetà tal-poplu Malti tkun fl-aqwa tagħha fejn joħroġ biċ-ċar l-altruwiżmu ta’ dan il-poplu, li huwa wieħed mill-isbaħ valuri li nħaddnu bħala ġens u li jintwera matul is-sena kollha. Dan iż-żmien tas-sena jfisser ukoll aktar xogħol għad-Direttorat għall-Wirt Kulturali fi ħdan il-Ministeru għal Għawdex li jassigura li jwasslilna kalendarju kulturali mimli daqs bajda matul is-sena kollha u għaldaqstant joffri valur miżjud għal Għawdex tagħna. Bħas-snin preċedenti, din is-sena wkoll ħadna ħsieb biex infasslu programm vast imma daqstant ieħor dettaljat, mifrux fuq sitt ġimgħat, ta’ attivitajiet marbuta ma’ dan iż-żmien tas-sena. Persważ li l-attivitajiet li ser inkunu qed inwasslulkom, uħud stabbiliti u oħrajn ġodda, ser jintlaqgħu tajjeb u jilħqu l-aspettattivi tagħkom, għax wara kollox huma attivitajiet ispirati mill-akbar ġrajja li qatt esperjenzat l-umanità: it-twelid ta’ Sidna Ġesù Kristu. Dan il-ktejjeb hu xhieda tal-impenn mill-Ministeru għal Għawdex sabiex għal sena oħra, qed nipprovdulkom programm ikkulurit għal dawn iż-żminijet. CHRISTMAS IN GOZO 2023

Christmas is often perceived as the most beautiful time of the year, even more so for children, who look forward with awe to this festive season. The atmosphere surrounding this particular time of year is one of joy and happiness, and this is also thanks to the decorations installed in every corner of the island. It is a time when differences in ideas, values, and thoughts transform into beautiful moments of unity and heartfelt well-wishing. It is a period when Maltese solidarity is at its best, exemplifying the altruism that is one of our nation’s most cherished values and is exhibited year-round. As in previous years, this year we have crafted a vast but equally detailed program, covering six weeks, of Christmas activities. With the introduction of new events, together with those already established, we are sure that we will meet and exceed the expectations of both the residents and those who choose to visit Gozo during the Christmas period, because after all they are activities inspired by the greatest event that humanity has ever experienced; the birth of Jesus Christ. This booklet is yet another proof of the hard work and commitment that the Ministry has taken to show the importance we are giving to all the initiatives taken during Christmas in Gozo. During these days, the square will be converted into a Christmas market featuring stalls selling food, beverages, Christmas-themed items, and handcrafted goods. Madwar il-grotta ta’ Bethlehem - li fiha l-Madonna tippreżenta l-Bambin filwaqt li San Ġużepp iqim il-Misteru ħaj - insibu bosta xenarji li fihom nilmħu attività kontinwa li toħloq għalina ħeġġa biex niskopru s-sabiħ tal-ħafna pasturi movimentati. This mechanical Nativity scene portrays the story of salvation in the Grecio Scene, where St Francis established the first living Nativity in Italy. Inside the grotto, the Virgin Mary presents Baby Jesus, while St Joseph gazes upon Him in reverence. Throughout the exhibit, various dynamic scenarios unfold, showcasing continuous activity that unveils the captivating movements of the figures.

An exhibition showcasing a collection of antique statues representing Baby Jesus, all locally crafted from clay, wax, or papier-mâché. The exhibition also includes paintings and traditional Maltese crib figures.
