6 WATER CITY No other major Midwestern city can claim a location where three rivers flow into a 22,000-square mile Great Lake. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan and at the confluence of the Milwaukee, Menomonee and Kinnickinnic Rivers, Milwaukee is filled with waterfront excitement. Get out on the water on a river cruise or a sailing expedition in Lake Michigan, or explore the three-mile long RiverWalk that winds through the city. This unique thoroughfare is dotted with eye-catching public art and lined with charming restaurants, brewpubs and shopping. And just for fun, a bronze statue of Fonzie from "Happy Days" makes the perfect thumbs-up group photo op on the Milwaukee RiverWalk. 7 ARCHITECTURE Explore Milwaukee’s rich architectural history, from the Gilded Age splendor of the Pabst Mansion to the stunning modern look of the Milwaukee Art Museum. Six of the known 13 Frank Lloyd Wright American System-Built Homes are found here in his native state, and the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Wauwatosa was one of Wright’s last works. Other beautiful churches include the Basilica of St. Josaphat, School Sisters of St. Francis Chapel, Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and the St. Joan of Arc Chapel, which stood for more than five centuries in France before being rescued and moved to Milwaukee.
