For the friend group:

Island hopping on the Namdalen coast Go island hopping along our beautiful coastline by car, bicycle, or express boat. Start in Namsos and travel north, via Rørvik and Kolvereid, to the geology island of Leka. Tour Jøa island, visit a historic fishing village and sleep by the ocean at Nordøyan lighthouse. Enjoy tasty local food, go kayaking or join a thrilling rafting tour along the way. Recommended travel time: 5-7 days

For the adventurer:

A wild detour Take a wild detour from E6 along some of Norway’s largest lakes, through the national park municipalities of Lierne and Røyrvik. Try some fantastic trout fishing tours or hit a local hiking trail, stay in a wilderness camp on a private island, and eat tasty local dishes at LiVERTEN. Rental cabins and guided tours in the area will introduce you to Norwegian wilderness. Other recommended activities: a stop at Kvelia Selected Cultural Landscape in Lierne, or a walk to Viewpoint Børgefjell in Røyrvik. Recommended travel time: 3-4 days.

For the slow-travel traveller:

Animal encounters all throughout Namdalen Bring your family on an educational and unforgettable journey. Start with eagle safari in Flatanger, then venture north. Try horseback riding and rural living in Grong, or a tranquil farm stay at Setran Gård. Then, head to Namsskogan Wildlife Park to learn about Nordic wildlife. Try their wolfsnore lavvu sleeping. Bever safaris and other guided wildlife tours are also possible. Recommended travel time: 5-7 days.

For those driving Fv17, the Coastal Route:

Skrøyvdalsvegen Skrøyvdalsvegen Fv766 is a 57 km long detour from Fv17 (the coastal route). Turn west when you get to Høylandet centre, then drive towards Salsbruket. On the way there you can: see the awesome Skrøyvstadfossen waterfall by the road, stop at a viewpoint, try some birding, or go say hello to the animals at Setran Farm. The Giants kettles at Galtneset (p.7) are also worth a visit. Recommended travel time: 1-2 days.
