Do you know what the CVB stands for in the Redmond Chamber of Commerce’s name?
The Redmond Chamber is also a Convention and Visitors Bureau. So, what does a CVB do? Essentially, we are the information and resources center for all things tourism and visitor related in Redmond. When someone is interested in bringing a group, convention, wedding, or even a family reunion to Redmond, they typically contact the Chamber/ CVB to ask for assistance with their event.
Some of the services we provide include scheduling venues, requesting room blocks (special hotel room rates), providing ideas for day excursions, activities, referrals, catering, entertainment and providing hospitality bags and more. Our goal is to create an exceptional visitor experience, generate overnight stays, create repeat visitations, and to have guests want to extend their stay. Many of our requests for CVB services come from events hosted at the Deschutes County Fair and Expo or even
outside of Redmond at venues such as Eagle Crest Resort, Brasada, or other destinations near us. While venues outside the city limits do not generating hotel tax revenue, this is our opportunity to boost our economy by showcasing Redmond as an ideal place to shop, eat, drink and to experience our amazing community. As a Visitor Center, we answer endless questions, as we represent the front door, phone and the mailbox of our community. We also represent the region and State, providing information for visitors and locals alike. The Redmond Chamber has years of experience representing our community and we love what we do.

NEWS FROM Independence Day Celebration
the ranch
The Crooked River Ranch Way
- by Brenda Cooper
Down in Canyon Village at Macphearson Park was The Brian Hanson Band kicking off the Crooked River Ranch Independence Day Celebration Friday July 5th,2024 at the CRR Annual Barn Dance. This event was from 6:00pm-10:00pm, although the temperatures were near 100 degrees, the community turnout was large, as the sun went down the breeze made it so comfortable. Starting at 6:00pm was a social hour where you could purchase hotdogs or nachos from KDAWGS Food Cart, or a cold adult beverage from Over The Edge Taphouse with their decorated beer garden. Straight up at 7:00pm the entertainment opened with welcoming the crowd, thanking the dedicated volunteers for their help as these events couldn’t happen without them and saying the pledge of allegiance.
This event was sponsored by the Crooked River Ranch Events Committee which invited everyone to come to the park and listen to a great band for no fee to the community. The sound of country music, with Brian Hanson’s magic fiddle playing, went until 10:00pm. The line dancing and two stepping started from the first song until the end of the evening. A family fun event for all to attend.
Bright and early Saturday morning at 7:30am the community volunteers were already lining up the parade participants with 22 entries from commercial floats to Oregon Army National Guard vehicles, the Patriot Pinup, LLC. The Classic Cars kicked off the Independence Day Parade at 10am. With a line of red, white, and blue themed ‘Spirit of America’. The parade route brought them from the Trading Post up Chinook past the horse arena, through bleachers on Clubhouse Rd, then on through the CRR RV Park ending at Chinook and Hays Road.
As the parade ended the Vendor Show in Macphearson Park began. 30 vendors filled the park with all their crafts and products to sell. Despite the high temps the park was packed with shoppers looking for just that right item for them. There was also the annual Lion’s Club BBQ with pulled pork sandwiches and hotdogs for sale. It’s always fun to see the kids try to complete the Crooked River Fired Department obstacle course. There was music played by Me, Myself and I, Don Banich. It’s so nice to hear his music set the tone for the day. And how about those root beer floats sold each year by the Senior Group? Very refreshing on a hot day.
For a nice break indoors, the Quilt Show took place in the Ranch Chapel. Beautiful quilts handmade by the ladies in the quilt club. The quilts were displayed so you could easily see them and the talent that it takes to sew them. There were so many lovely quilts that it was hard to choose a favorite. All in all a family fun annual event here on the ranch, The CRR Independence Day Celebration with a parade, vendor show, classic cars, barn dance and quilt Show. Come join us each year to celebrate the Independence of our good ol’ USA.
Music on the Green, Redmond, Oregon’s beloved outdoor summer concert series, nestled right in Redmond’s backyard. Is set to bring the community together once again with its exciting lineup of performances, starting June 26th.

Whether you’re there to enjoy the music, savor the food, shop for unique crafts, or simply soak up the atmosphere. Music on the Green is the event you won’t want to miss. It’s a chance to relax, connect, and make summer memories. So, mark your calendars for June 26th and get ready to experience one of Redmond, Oregon’s most anticipated summer events.

As the Membership Director, I am greatly honored to be given the opportunity to highlight our top ten tips for making the most of your Chamber membership and getting plugged into the business community. We will go over the first five tips this month. From events, to staying in touch, to getting involved with projects and initiatives across the city…here we go!
Build your business network, be inspired and learn something new at our events. Coming to events is a big benefit of membership, but that doesn’t mean you have to come to everything…we know how busy you are. MARKETING memo
By: Connor Cubic
In today's competitive market, mastering sales strategies can make the difference between thriving and merely surviving. Success in sales isn't just about what you sell but also about how you sell it. Here are essential strategies that can elevate your sales game:
Optimize Cash Flow
Managing cash flow effectively is crucial for any business. Utilize cloud-based accounting platforms to keep real-time track of your finances. This approach streamlines your operations and gives you instant access to critical financial data like profit and loss statements and cash flow reports. Consider outsourcing your accounting to third-party experts, such as fractional CFOs and remote bookkeeping teams. These services maintain financial health without incurring high in-house costs, enabling you to focus on growth and strategic planning.
Purchase and Leverage Assets
Owning assets can significantly increase your business's value. While leasing might seem cost-effective initially, purchasing equipment or property adds assets to your balance sheet, enhancing your financial standing. These assets can be financed, allowing you to deduct interest on loans and improve your cash flow. Establishing good credit lines with your bank and suppliers is essential to ensure you have the necessary funds for growth and emergencies. Always consult with your tax advisor to maximize these benefits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Develop New Revenue Streams
Diversifying revenue streams is vital for long-term stability. Start by enhancing your current customer experience, as retaining existing customers is less costly than acquiring new ones. A diversified revenue base reduces the risk of relying too heavily on one source of income. Aim to ensure no single customer accounts for more than 20% of your revenue. Leverage your supplier network for referrals and consider strategic partnerships with businesses in complementary industries to reach new customer bases. This approach not only expands your market reach but also builds a robust business network.
Innovate and Adapt
Continuous improvement and adaptation are the cornerstones of a successful sales strategy. Regularly assess your business model and seek new opportunities proactively. Whether through technology upgrades or entering new markets, staying ahead of the curve will set you apart from the competition. Innovation should be a continuous process, driven by feedback from customers, employees, and market trends. This proactive approach helps in anticipating changes and preparing for future challenges.
Work with Advisors
Engaging with business advisors can provide valuable insights and tailored strategies to achieve your professional goals. Advisors offer expertise and an external perspective that can help identify opportunities and threats that might not be apparent from within the organization. Their guidance ensures you stay on track and adapt to market changes efficiently. Regular consultations with advisors can keep your strategy aligned with your business objectives and market conditions.
By incorporating these strategies, you can optimize your operations, manage risks effectively, and drive your business toward sustainable growth and success. Effective cash flow management, asset ownership, revenue diversification, continuous innovation, and expert advice form the backbone of a robust sales strategy. Embracing these elements will help your business thrive in a competitive market.
