Mild Mediterranean climate: Characterized by warm, dry summers and mild winters
EACH OF THE SIX CHARMING TOWNS THAT MAKE UP THE SANTA YNEZ VALLEY—LOS OLIVOS, BALLARD, SANTA YNEZ, SOLVANG, BUELLTON, AND LOS ALAMOS— ARE ALL A SHORT DRIVE FROM EACH OTHER, YET EACH OFFERS ITS OWN DISTINCT VIBE. WHETHER IT’S WINE TASTING, DINING OR SIMPLY SOAKING IN THE ATMOSPHERE, VISITORS ALWAYS FIND A REASON TO RETURN.
SANTA YNEZ (PAGE 26) Santa Ynez may look like an Old West town from afar, but its authentic, lively character quickly draws you in. Weekends bring live music to a boot-stompin’ bar, while restaurants serve up farm-fresh cuisine and sophisticated clothing boutiques and home decor stores satisfy discriminating shoppers. With quaint inns and hotels, Santa Ynez makes a perfect base for exploring the valley.
BUELLTON (PAGE 32) Just a few miles west of Solvang, Buellton surprises visitors with its urban tasting rooms, craft distilleries, and a flagship brewery on Industrial Way. The town’s dining options are plentiful and range from oak-grilled steaks to farm-to-table fare and wood-fired pizzas. It’s a culinary destination with a laid-back vibe where local ingredients take center stage.
BALLARD (PAGE 41) This tiny burg, situated midway between Los Olivos and Santa Ynez, began as a stagecoach stop. It has since become a coveted residential area while maintaining its historical charm. The appealing setting of The Ballard Inn makes Ballard the perfect place to disappear for a couple of days. A must-see is the Little Red School House, built in 1882 and still in operation today
SOLVANG (PAGE 42) Known as "Little Denmark," Solvang was founded in 1911 by Danish immigrants, and while it still retains its rich heritage, it also has plenty of modern offerings. Danish traditions thrive here, from the architecture and windmills to the beloved æbleskiver pastries. The town is a picturesque reminder of its European roots, with festivals, old world trolleys and half-timbered buildings transporting you to another time and place.
LOS OLIVOS (PAGE 58) With over thirty tasting rooms lining its main street, Los Olivos is the heart of the valley’s wine scene. The quaint town invites you to spend the day leisurely sampling wines, browsing unique boutiques, exploring antique stores and discovering art galleries that dot Grand Avenue. Blending country charm with a touch of urban style, Los Olivos is the perfect spot to relax and unwind.
LOS ALAMOS (PAGE 64) At the northern tip of the valley, Los Alamos has become a hotspot for foodies. Known as “Little L.A.,” this town has attracted chefs and entrepreneurs from Los Angeles, resulting in a culinary boom. Its short commercial strip is home to distinctive restaurants, wine-tasting rooms, a bakery and more, making it a mustvisit destination for anyone looking to indulge.
The Western-style false-front building facades, feed stores and horses hitched to posts in the vintage township of Santa Ynez sometimes blur the timeline between 1881 and 2025. However, this sophisticated cowboy town boasts plenty of conveniences for modern-day trail riders. The streets, adorned with horse shoe-embedded crosswalks, are lined with various clothing boutiques, home decor stores, galleries, restaurants and an original California honky-tonk saloon. If you have an appetite, this is the place to be. The dining options range from classic burgers, steaks, pancakes and waffles to seafood, regional Italian fare, Latin fusion and locavore cuisine.
For a dose of old west heritage head to the Santa Ynez Valley Historical Society Museum and Parks-Janeway Carriage House. And if you are in the mood for a low-key Las Vegas experience The Chumash Casino Resort, just adjacent to the township, offers 24/7 gaming, live entertainment, dining and luxurious accommodations. Cyclists from around the globe gravitate to Santa Ynez for its world-class training terrain or just the chance to ride a bike along quiet country roads. There’s plenty to see, do and eat in the town that gave the Valley its name.
Founded in 1881 and was originally going to be named Sagunto
The Parks-Janeway Carriage House displays the largest horse-drawn vehicle collection west of the Mississippi.

MAVERICK SALOON For California cowboy vintage vibes this is the place to be! With live music, a farm
Meet Guest Editor Charlotte Becerra, owner of the famed jewelry gallery Charlotte's of Santa Ynez. Her shop is expertly curated with an extraordinary collection of vintage turquoise and silver pieces for both women and men, as well as horse tack and a tight edit of hats, antique rugs, pottery, sophisticated Western art and other fabulous goods.
The light-infused showroom, a beautiful retail “mine” of highly collectible Indigenous, artisan-made silver and turquoise rings, earrings and necklaces, attracts customers ranging from loyal locals, low-key A-list "industry types," and "regulars" from all over the world. The shop is also on the radar of accomplished equestrians and cowboys who shop from the selection of goods, including bolo ties, belt buckles, hatbands, cufflinks and an entire wall dedicated to highquality new and vintage horse tack.
FAVORITE FINDS I found this antique horse bit on a buying trip to New Mexico. It was in pretty bad shape, so my wildly talented friend, Bruce Haener, meticulously made new molds to recast the damaged components to bring this treasure back to its original glory. I also love how the late jewelry artist Matthew Kollinger repurposed pieces like these gorgeous vintage silver and glass trade beads and paired them with najas and other pendants to make very wearable pieces.
A HAT TIP TO SYV
The beauty extends far beyond the boutique as this local business owner is also in the business of giving back to the community and was honored by the Santa Ynez Valley Foundation as a 2024 “Champion of the Valley’ for her volunteer efforts. Becerra's love for the community is apparent, and as she puts it, “We are the local's town of the Valley, so we know our customer base and Valley residents well; they are our neighbors and friends, our kids go to school together, etc. This area is full of wonderful people, and it's a joy to go to work each day and have them pop into the boutique.”
We recently stopped by the boutique to chat with Becerra, who is most generous regarding the wealth of knowledge she holds about the jewelry she collects, the history surrounding it and the artisans who made it. Here’s what she shared about collecting vintage jewelry pieces, a few of her favorite finds, how to accessorize to capture a Valley-style vibe and more.
Customers often ask me about Santa Ynez Valley style, and my advice is always the same: start with a solid base of denim and then accessorize with one item at a time. Select a statement jewelry piece and then add a few more subtle pieces to the mix. A scarf is an excellent way to introduce more color and pattern. A belt gives any outfit a more polished look, and you can't go wrong with a classic cowboy hat, especially when it’s adorned with one of our local artisanmade hatbands or sterling silver toothpicks.
VINTAGE ADVANTAGE
If you want to start a collection of antique and vintage turquoise jewelry, do some research before diving in. Not only will you be a more informed investor in the pieces, but you will also have a deeper appreciation of the origins, the artisans who made them, the symbolism of the designs and a better understanding of the skill involved in making them.
SHOP TALK The shop is a combination of silver bits, romal reins, spurs and other equestrian accouterments, as well as vintage sterling silver jewelry, primarily from the Southwest but also Mexico, Italy and other countries wellknown for their jewelry.
THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR COLLECTING Vintage cowboy boots are highly collectible. It's fascinating to see how the designs represent the different cultures and times. I personally love collecting them for a variety of reasons— for their craftsmanship, their historical significance and, of course, for the fashion.
Since 2013, brothers Matt and Jeff Nichols have welcomed diners to their inviting restaurant in downtown Santa Ynez, where history, community and culinary excellence converge.

Marriage isn't the only thing connecting long-time locals and high school sweethearts Mia Dennee and Kevin Murphy. There's also a passion for creating, a deep love of the Valley lifestyle and, among a host of other things, a quaint courtyard joining their two thriving Santa Ynez businesses, Mia Dennee's Interior Design and Furniture and KJ Murphy's Custom Hatter Mercantile and Bar. Having moved from Southern California 28 years ago, raising two children and now enjoying grandchildren here, there's no place like home for these distinctive proprietors. As business owners, the slower pace and laid-back vibe of a small-town environment and the opportunities it provides to work with friends and forge lasting connections with visitors from all over the world fuel their commitment to the community. The generous couple gives their time and lends their expertise by serving on the boards of several prominent local foundations benefiting residents. Kevin is the president of Old Santa Ynez Days Rodeo a major fundraiser for the beloved foundation, Santa Ynez Valley Western Heritage Foundation which supports the youth in the valley and abroad.
Mia, who grew up as the 3rd generation of Dennee's Furniture in Southern California, opened her own iteration of the family business, Mia Dennee's Interior Design and Furniture, after settling in Santa Ynez. This full-range interior design studio and showroom offer design services for commercial and residential projects, including space planning, color selection, custom upholstery and staging plans. The welcoming retail shop is filled with inspiring vignettes that are easy to envision in your own home. As lead designer, Mia, who is feng shui certified and known for her color and textureinfused interiors, artfully collaborates with clients from New York City to Santa Ynez on projects that range from small-scale to new builds, all with a focus on creating comfortable and harmonious spaces imbued with a sense of serenity.
HOME INTERIORS AND CUSTOM HATS BRING STYLE, CRAFTSMANSHIP AND COMMUNITY TO THE HEART OF SANTA YNEZ
"Spaces are all about crafting the right energy and vibe. I always search for fresh ideas, never repeating the same look twice. I aim to design a space as unique and individual as each of my clients."
Mia Dennee, Owner/Designer
Kevin's business, KJ Murphy's Custom Hatter Mercantile and Bar, outfits ranchers, buckaroos, fashionistas and anyone looking for authentic western wear and outdoor apparel for pure function, fashionable form or both. This one-time surfboard designer and shaper moved his South Bay custom cabinetry business to the SYV and, after 25 years, circled back to shaping, but this time around, by crafting custom cowboy hats. Peruse a full line of off-the-shelf hats from classic brands Stetson, Resistol, Charlie One Horse and, of course, KJ's line of custom hats. After selecting the desired hat body and embellishments like leather hat bands, colorful ribbons or feathers, customers can belly up to the shop's refurbished mahogany bar and enjoy a local brew or glass of wine while watching the steamy, old-school traditional hat-making magic.
"I turned my passion for creating custom cowboy hats into a full-time business and opened KJ Murphy's Custom Hatter Mercantile and Bar 13 years ago."
Kevin "KJ" Murphy, Owner/Custom Hat Maker
Once upon a time and by design, Buellton was known as the place you’d be happy to stop, stretch your legs, refuel and hit the road again. These days, refueling takes on a whole new meaning as this thriving community, now celebrated for its cuisine and libation scene, satisfies a full range of tastes. Sample exceptional wines, award-winning craft brews and experience a refreshing variety of culinary delights prepared with the freshest local bounty.
Buellton is a short drive along the coast just north of Santa Barbara on Highway 101. It’s nestled at the base of the Sta. Rita Hills AVA and enjoys year-round sunny days cooled by afternoon ocean breezes. This prestigious AVA is known for consistently producing world-class Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah grapes.
Accommodations abound here as visitors can “glamp” at the local RV resort, relax at a hip boutique hotel and indulge in top-notch services and amenities. There are plenty of places to stay and lots of ways to play in Buellton. Take a stroll through the Santa Ynez Valley Botanic Garden and learn about the area’s native plants, zip line high above the Valley floor or visit one of the West Coast’s largest petroliana collections. The more you explore, the more you’ll discover about this “under the radar” unassuming city. Where else can you feed an ostrich, play a round of golf and visit a distillery all in one day?

Founded in 2017 by Kim and Andy Busch, Folded Hills embodies their passions for wine, food, community and land stewardship. In fact, it was the property's unique soils, topography and climate that inspired the couple to plant grapevines. Ever since, the Busch family has remained committed to organic and biodynamic farming practices to maintain the land’s health and vitality.
Folded Hills is a scenic, family-owned winery and ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley, where sustainably-crafted Rhone varietal wines seamlessly blend with family and community.
Founding winemaker Angela Osborne, renowned for her nuanced Rhone wines, recently returned to Folded Hills, continuing the winery's legacy of excellence. Her low intervention, intuitive approach ensures each bottle captures the true essence of the vineyard and region. Be on the lookout for a new trilogy release: Truth, Beauty and Grace—wines showcasing the very best of the vineyard.
Folded Hills wines highlight the exquisite character of the land while celebrating family. Many of the labels pay homage to family members, past and present, reflecting the deep familial bonds that inspire their creation.
Folded Hills invites guests to two distinct locations: The Homestead Tasting Room at their ranch in Gaviota, where you can experience ranch life, meet farm animals and enjoy seasonal events like Oktoberfest; and the Montecito Tasting Room, a chic community hub known for après Polo gatherings and Vinyl Nights.

For an authentic taste of Denmark—literally and figuratively—head to Solvang. This Danish-inspired village, the largest of the Santa Ynez Valley towns, is known for its old-world European charm, hospitality and history. And, it also boasts a very au courant food, wine, craft beer, shopping and art gallery scene.
Solvang was founded in 1911 by three Danish-American educators searching for a place on California's central coast where land was plentiful and their culture could prosper. Situated on 9,000 acres of land adjacent to the historic 1804 Old Mission Santa Inés, settlers came and continued to carry on Denmark's traditions of language, folk dancing, music and cuisine. In January of 1947, the Saturday Evening Post proclaimed Solvang a "spotless Danish village that blooms like a rose in California's charming Santa Ynez Valley," and put Solvang on the map as the "Danish Capital of America." In the following years, Danish provincial style ruled new downtown construction, and existing structures were given "Danish makeovers" to reflect Denmark's farmstyle architecture. Also, Solvang's streets were renamed to pay homage to famous Danes and locations in Denmark.

Now in its second century, Solvang's 6,000+ residents from many cultures continue to enjoy the same traditions the founders envisioned—welcoming friends, family and visitors from around the world to share the joys of "California's Denmark."
Time your visit to coincide with one of the many unique festivals celebrating Danish heritage and culture or the bounty of food, wine and hand-crafted beer from surrounding vineyards and farms.

California's "Little Denmark" sparkles with lights and festivities during this heart-warming annual festival, as Solvang Park in downtown Solvang is transformed into a winter wonderland. California history melds with modern-day wine tasting, dining, galleries and upscale shops in picture-perfect Los Olivos. It’s a laid-back town—the kind where locals sit on wooden porches and chat with friends and visitors, and an iconic WWI memorial flagpole monument at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Alamo Pintado Avenue marks the heart of it. Victorian homes and businesses radiate around this community hub, and a patchwork of stunning vineyards, lavender farms, orchards, ranches and horse trails envelop Los Olivos and provide enticing reasons to explore beyond the city limits.
The roots of this town run deep. In the early 1860s, Los Olivos served as a welcome stagecoach stop along the route that ran from San Francisco to San Diego. Don’t be deceived by the charming vintage vibes because behind the historic doors, the offerings are decidedly modern and sophisticated—elegant clothing and home decor boutiques, antiques, art galleries and gourmet dining. And then there’s the world-class wine tasting. Set aside a day to go tasting room hopping to sample a few of the esteemed local vintages. Without a doubt, Los Olivos has something to offer each and every visitor, from the casual shopper to the serious oenophile.

I am big on pairing classic investment pieces like this tailored suede blazer with au courant silhouettes like these wide-leg jeans and topping it all off with a whimsically embroidered fedora. It's not just a stylish choice, but a smart one too. This fashionable financial formula allows for dabbling with trends, while focusing the majority of your clothing budget on forever pieces.
SUPPORTING CAST Accessories can really define an outfit. But more importantly, they can define how you feel in that outfit. Add a chic scarf for a sophisticated flair, a statement bracelet for a hit of low-key bling, a pair of classic sunglasses for a bit of fabulous function and feel good beneath it all with some luxurious lingerie.
LUXE LOOKS The SYV is all about getting away, relaxing and having fun. I love to style outfits that reflect this ethos. One of my go-to combos is pairing a playful bohemian dress with a sophisticated clutch and some fabulous heeled booties—perfect for a day of wine tasting or an elegant evening out. It's all about personal enjoyment and finding your unique style, and at LOU, that's what we do best!
Our menswear department includes a range of clothing, accessories and lifestyle items. It's a big hit with men and their partners who come in to shop for the guys in their lives. Our collections offer stylish alternatives to "dad jeans" and sweats without sacrificing comfort and function.
Meet Guest editor Leanna Drammer, owner of LOU Los Olivos, a sophisticated boutique with a unique and covetable selection of contemporary designer clothing, accessories and other exceptional goods that embody elegant SYV style. We stopped by the shop to chat with this fashionable proprietress, and she shared a bit about herself and the business, a few of her favorite finds, advice on investment pieces vs. trends, the recent addition of a men's department and more.
Tell us a little about yourself and Lou's origin story. I grew up in the SYV and then spent 30 years in Los Angeles and New York before deciding to move back so my two boys could also experience the joy of growing up here. After returning, I felt there was a need for an elevated clothing store. Lex and Luc are my two boys, and I always wanted a third child named Lou, but I never had the opportunity, so my store became that baby!
What inspires and informs how you curate the boutique? I only buy clothing I adore and would wear!! I'm very passionate and find it easier to sell things I love. European fashion inspires me, and traveling to Paris this last summer was fantastic. I found many amazing lines I’m excited to showcase this Spring.
What collections are you currently coveting? A.L.C., Brochu Walker, Nili Lotan, Vanessa Bruno and coming this Spring, Ines de la Fressange, Sita Mart, Vilagallo and Lulu Zagame. For men, we carry John Varvatos, Billy Reid, Howler Bros., Rag & Bone and many others.
How has the business evolved since its opening? We opened in May of 2023, and after 17 months, we’ve expanded to include a men's department.
What’s the best part about owning a local business? The community. I love filling a niche in the market and helping women, and now men get dressed up! I traveled the world working in fashion, and bringing that experience home and sharing it with the community is so much fun.
Los Alamos
This northern "entrance" to the Santa Ynez Valley, located at the junction of U.S. Highway 101 and State Route 135, is a few miles from the rest of the Valley towns and so worth the short drive to get there. Surrounded by ranches, farms and vineyards, Los Alamos, founded in 1876, has a pervasive vintage vibe yet boasts a wholly au courant food, wine, art and antique scene. The seven-block main thoroughfare, Bell Street, reflects as much Old West heritage as any small town on California's Central Coast. One-of-a-kind lodging here includes a Victorian-style bed & breakfast with themed suites, a renovated 1940s motel made ranch-style chic and just outside of town, a reimagined mid-century roadside motel with sweeping wine country views.
During the last weekend of September Los Alamos Old Days honors the town's western heritage with a celebration including an arts and crafts fair, BBQ, car show, dance and parade—an excellent time to wrangle a visit with free fun for the whole family. Tasting rooms, cool lodging, trendy treasures and exceptional cuisine reward those who venture off the beaten path to discover the unpretentious rancher, hipster, foodie, wine-lover mashup that is Los Alamos.
In Spanish, "Alamo" refers to the native cottonwood trees that grow along the banks of San Antonio Creek
The Union Hotel opened here in 1880 to accommodate overnight travelers at this once-upona-time stagecoach stop

SYV Wine Country 101: A crash course in the vineyards, varieties and local lore to make the most of your visit to the Santa Ynez Valley's dynamic wine region.
Horses and cattle were once the main cash crops of the Santa Ynez Valley—a legacy of the Spanish rancho days. However, the area experienced a shift in the 1970s when pioneering winemakers began planting vineyards across its diverse terrain. Today, the Valley thrives as a premier wine destination, with vineyards stretching from valley floors to mountaintops. Visitors come from around the globe to sip exceptional wines, savor farmfresh organic produce, and enjoy the region's stunning beauty. Wine now reigns supreme. Sure, you'll still spot thoroughbreds galloping through lush pastures, and you'll also see wine lovers atop them roaming through vineyards and lavender fields headed to the next stop on a tasting room tour.
Most mountain ranges run north-south, but the coastal San Rafael and Santa Ynez mountains that form the Santa Ynez Valley and the greater Santa Barbara County wine region run east to west. As such, they act like a funnel for cool air and fog from the Pacific Ocean, creating a myriad of micro-climates at various elevations suitable for a wide range of varietal grapes. Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and other grapes that like hot days and cold nights predominate in the eastern region, while consistent, cool weather to the west favors such Burgundy varietal grapes as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Both regions provide long growing seasons and extended "hang time" for the fruit, allowing their sugars and acids to develop slowly and fully—essential for great wines.
1. Terroir is the French concept of "place reflected in the glass." It captures how a particular region's soil, climate, and terrain influence the unique flavors of wine, giving each bottle its distinctive taste that reflects where the grapes are grown.
2. An American Viticultural Area (AVA) is a designated grape-growing region defined by unique geographic and climatic features, setting it apart from surrounding areas. These characteristics influence how grapes grow, creating distinct wine profiles that reflect their specific origin.

A Small-scale entrepreneurial winemaker, originally from the Bordeaux region of France, especially one who does not adhere to wine-making traditions. Garagistes may play by their own rules and fly under the radar, but these SYV winemakers should be on yours. These local labels are too good to miss. Santa Maria Valley AVA (1981) Fog and wind keep temperatures cool, especially in the western part of this near-coast AVA, Santa Barbara County's first. Known for cool-weather-loving Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, it also produces excellent Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Nebbiolo and Cabernet Franc.
Alisos Canyon AVA (2020) Recently recognized as the region's newest AVA, Alisos Canyon is revered for its high-quality fruit and affinity towards Rhonestyle varietals. Nestled between the Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Maria Valley, this stand-alone AVA covers 5,774 acres.
Sta. Rita Hills AVA (2001) The odd spelling of "Saint" is the result of a settlement involving a Chilean AVA of the same name. Slightly warmer than the adjacent Santa Maria AVA. This is Pinot Noir country, which makes up nearly two-thirds of the vineyard acreage, followed by Chardonnay.
Ballard Canyon AVA (2013) Windy, foggy and with wildly shifting temperatures, Ballard Canyon occupies a middle ground between the coolest and warmest parts of the Valley. The Rhone grape Syrah rules here, accounting for more than half the planted acreage, and local Syrahs are every bit the equal of their French counterparts.
Santa Ynez Valley AVA (1983) The largest AVA in SB County contains four sub-AVAs. Predominantly east-west oriented, it is cut by hills that produce numerous microclimates. World-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grow in the cooler western part of the AVA, while Rhone and Bordeaux varieties thrive in the warmer, eastern areas.
Happy Canyon AVA (2009) The most eastern growing region is also the warmest, with hills reducing ocean breezes and fog. Cabernet Sauvignon and warm-weather styles of Sauvignon Blanc predominate, and extensive plantings of Syrah are also present.
Los Olivos District AVA (2016) Containing the towns of Los Olivos, Solvang and Santa Ynez. Generally lower in elevation and less precipitous than other SB County AVAs, its moderate climate and microclimates allow a range of grapes to thrive, including Italian and Spanish varieties.
Have a budget in mind when planning a day of tasting.

Warm, sometimes downright hot sunny days and refreshingly cool mornings and evenings demand lightweight jackets or sweaters to put on and take off accordingly. Comfortable shoes are essential for tasting room-hopping and strolling downtown for shopping. Top off your look with a hat to keep cool. Remember those hot sunny days we mentioned? Keep your reusable water bottle on hand because the sun + wine tasting + walking (a lot) can = dehydration. Unless it’s a formal wedding, no suits or ties are required in the casual comfort of the SYV.

The Foxen Canyon Wine Trail and of course, Andrew Murray Vineyards, is a beautiful and serene place where you can learn more about wine.
Zaca Creek Ranch is a hidden gem of a working cattle ranch, in the tradition of Old California, that also has Alpacas and Llamas.

The short hike up to Nojoqui Falls, especially after our winter rains, never disappoints.
We are truly blessed with so many great dining options in the valley, a defining feature of a great destination. But we love Taco Thursdays at Brothers Restaurant at the Red Barn in Santa Ynez. We are longtime friends with the “bros” and part of their inspiration for being in the Valley. Best of all, we always see at least a few friends there.
I am a farmer, so I often get to the winery in time to watch the sunrise. And even more frequently, I am on my way home during sunset. Sometimes, I stop high on top of Foxen Canyon Road and watch the sunset over the vineyards and open range land. Funny enough, there are usually others up there enjoying the same view. The secret is out.
Andrew Murray has a passion for travel, but there's no place like home for this winemaker and owner of his eponymous winery and vineyard. After years of global adventures and internships that began when he was a teen, Murray and his family eventually planted roots, literally and figuratively, in the Santa Ynez Valley. Here, this long-time local shares a bit about himself and the inside scoop on Valley adventures, eats, drinks and what to do, see and experience in this slice of paradise.
Name: Andrew Murray

We have two big, crazy, beautiful golden retrievers, Bear (3) and Bogey (2). I love going on long walks with my boys all over the valley.
I really love a night that never ends, but our valley is relatively quiet. So, we sometimes plan for a later reservation at SY Kitchen for latenight vibes and linger longer over an amazing cocktail, meal and a great bottle or two of wine.
* I really love wine, like a lot. Of course, I grow and craft my own wine, but I am an avid collector and daily drinker of wine from around the world.
* Travel is a huge passion of mine. I am a tireless and crazy curious traveler, and France is my favorite destination.
* I am sure I think about and talk about our two golden retrievers way more than I should, but they mean the world to me!
Follow @amvwine and @e11wine or head to andrewmurrayvineyards. com and e11even.wine to stay current on the latest happenings and new releases from Andrew Murray Vineyards.
Honestly, I would go anywhere and do anything as long as it is with my family. I am not really a golfer, but I really love a late afternoon round of golf with my family (they love golf) at the Alisal Ranch Course It is as close to a perfect evening as possible.
We have some great small-town festivals, and Los Olivos Day In the Country is a standout. But my favorite would have to be the Santa Barbara Vintners’ Festival which is held each fall and celebrates our region's amazing wineries and restaurants. It is a must-attend event!
