With over 25 years in the beauty industry I’m chock full of great pro tips! I’ve been in front of and behind the camera. I modeled in New York City in the early part of my career and have been a makeup artist in the fashion, television, bridal industry, just to name a few. I’ve worked in the television industry for CNN, FOX News Channel, MSNBC, HBO as well as many other organizations! I competed in pageantry and understand the makeup needs for many mediums and how it differs in front of a camera as opposed to on stage, etc! Whether you are a makeup novice or a makeup diva you can never learn enough beauty secrets! Here are some great tips! +
SKIN CARE... good skin care is the foundation of beauty. Use a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and ALWAYS use a sunscreen. For oily skin, use an oil free moisturizer during the day with an SPF of at least 15. For dry or mature skin, you can layer your products, using a moisturizer first and then add a sunscreen before applying makeup. One of my favorite gentle cleansers is Take the day Off Cleansing Milk by Clinique. 10

FLAWLESS SKIN... to create the look of flawless skin, start with a clean face and light touch of oil-free moisturizer. This will create a base that will allow your foundation to go on very smoothly. Start off with your corrector to cover up any blemishes, dark spots, broken capillaries. This will give you a nice even tone. Use a lighter weight concealer under the eyes for covering up dark circles. You are now ready for your foundation. Depending on your skin type, or type of finish that you prefer, you can use either a water base, cream or powder foundation. Apply it by dotting it on your cheeks, chin, and forehead. Blend with fingers or a sponge. You are now ready for a loose powder to set it. You can either use a powder puff or brush to apply your powder and..voila... perfect skin! One of my favorite powders is Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Loose Powder. +

BEAUTY TIPS FOR TEENS... With the daily demands of school, sports, an active social life, and the stresses that come with being a teenager, it’s important to start developing healthy habits. Start getting into good skin care routines. Be sure to keep your skin properly cleansed and never go to bed without removing your makeup. This will clog the pores and cause more breakouts. An oil free lightweight moisturizer will keep the skin hydrated. There is nothing more radiant than a youthful glow, so there is no need for heavy makeup. A tinted moisturizer to even out the skin tone, a concealer for under the eyes and for blemish coverage keeps the skin looking even. Mascara, a touch of eyeliner, a soft colored blush, and a dab of lipgloss will give you a polished, but natural look. For a little extra color and a nice glow, add a little shimmery bronzer! Summer is great, but fall? Fall is the BEST. Not everyone may agree on that, but most tend to agree that fall fashion is the most fun. How might I be exposed to parabens? Many of us are not aware that parabens are natural and are found in many foods we consume daily, both uncooked and unprocessed (I am sure I just shocked you with that discovery that they are natural!). We cannot avoid them, especially if we follow a healthy diet. A good example is daily consumption of barley, strawberries, vanilla, carrots, and onions. If you are eating these types of foods then you are consuming a high dose of parabens. This, however, is ok! There is no scientific evidence that daily exposure to parabens do us any wrong. Parabens in foods are metabolized when eaten, making them less estrogenic. 30

What are the health risks involved in using products with parabens? In contrast to consumption in foods, when applied to the skin and absorbed into the body, parabens in cosmetics bypass the metabolic process and enter the blood stream and body organs intact. It has been estimated that women are exposed to 50 mg per day of parabens from certain makeup and cosmetics.
ABOUT PARABENS
SHOULD I AVOID THEM? In recent years, mischievous internet scare mongers have introduced us to an interesting and annoying theory about parabens: they cause serious health problems from cancer to damaging organs. This is unfounded. Despite the current media and internet frenzy surrounding parabens, the published research and global cosmetic regulatory organizations are making the facts clear. Parabens, in small amounts when used in personal-care products, do not pose significant health risks. The bottom line is that parabens are naturally occurring chemicals. Many natural skin care brands claim that parabens are dangerous when in fact parabens are naturally produced by fruits and vegetables and have been exhaustively studied. Foods such assoy, flax, cherries, blueberries, carrots and cucumbers mimic estrogen to a much greater degree than the trivial amounts of parabens used in skin care that are not harmful.
What does the FDA think about parabens? The most recent long-term study done by FDA showed that parabens are one of the least irritating molecules being used in skin care preparations. Additionally, an allergic reaction to parabens is extremely rare. Let me stress one very important fact when it comes to skin care products I am talking about. I am strictly referring to medical grade products that are only available at medspas and doctors’ offices. One of the things that makes them better from products available at the department stores is they are fragrance FREE in addition to being highly concentrated in antioxidants, vitamins and vitamin A formulas.

What is the downtime?
Immediately after the treatment you will notice a bright redness to the skin. The total healing time depends on the Eclipse MicroPen™ setting used and the number of overlapping passes your skincare professional performs. On average, patients are red up to 2 to 4 days. Some patients heal completely in as little as 24 hours. Other quality skincare products, provided by your skincare provider, can help to speed up the healing process.
How many treatments will I need?
Some patients only require a single treatment, once per year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 2-3 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart.
