Wisdom Knowledge Shared by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Q: Gurudev, what is the difference between knowledge and wisdom? Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: It is we who give meaning to words and definitions. So it is up to you; if you think knowledge is information and wisdom is to integrate it in life, then that is one way to look at it. Some people don’t see any difference between knowledge and wisdom.

Q: How can the true nature of a person be known? Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: Why do you want to know the true nature of another person? Know your own nature that is good enough. Don’t sit and judge others, you never know! If your time is good your enemies become friends, and if your time is bad then your closest friends will behave like enemies. That is why, focus on yourself, and don’t judge others.

Q: Gurudev, how can one strengthen one’s power of intention or desire? Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: See, desire is always in search of happiness or knowledge. When one’s desire is directed towards a person, or an object, or some desired situation, then the moment you get something better, your desire will start running in that direction (meaning that desires are always for more happiness and without an end). Q: Gurudev, what is the best way to forgive somebody? Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: When you want to forgive them, then you have already forgiven them. There is no other way then. It is already done. When can you really forgive someone? You can forgive someone when you see them as a victim. Every culprit is also a victim. If you only think of someone as a culprit and that they deliberately did something wrong, then you will never be able to forgive them. Q: How should I handle the fears in my kid’s mind? Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: See, there isn’t much fear in the mind of a child. And even if there is, you should calmly explain to them and ask them to do some chanting, such as 'Om Namaha Shivaya', or just say 'Jai Gurudev', and all the fear drops off.

See, when you have some moral support then there is no fear. This is why chanting mantras, doing Pranayama can offer strong support to dispel away all fears one may have. Mantras are the greatest source of strength and support. For more on Wisdom Knowledge by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Click Here
